A lovely relaxing tropical getaway.
Tinas house was easy to find and well set up with everything you might need. The veranda was a great spot to sit and read, especially with that hammock! Although bug spray is required. All the movies on the tv also came in handy.
The location is very handy for exploring cape trib. Tina came over and gave us a run through of spots we might be interested and was very friendly and helpful.
All in all, a great spot to enjoy and explore the daintree/ reef
Thank you Tina for such an amazing experience.
The house was perfect. It is large for a small family (at least by city standards) and had everything we needed plus more. The surroundings are unbelievable, and we are truly thankful.
Tina gave us a lovely welcome and introduced us to some lovely swimming holes in the area - which we may not have found ourselves. She answered all our queries and then gave us space and privacy. What an excellent host.
The Daintree area is just beautiful. We were spoilt for choice - with wonderful beaches, swimming holes, rainforest walks and other adventures. With a very young toddler, we elected to do not much, and it was great to have this base to return to for our afternoon naps.
It's a very good idea to stock up on alot of food in Mossman, as there really is hardly anything north of the river. Tina's kitchen is stocked with great equipment, so I would try do one big shop at the beginning, instead of going back for more.
Beautiful, stylish and comfortable house on a quiet plot of secluded rainforest. Peaceful deck for having meals and watching birds. We saw cassowary along the road minutes away. Tina is a friendly, considerate and responsive host. Very highly recommended if you are planning a visit to the Cape Tribulation / Daintree NP area.
Our stay in Tina's home really exceeded expectations and we were lucky enough to extend our stay from 4 days to a week as we didn't really want to leave!
The house itself is a lovely space. Well equipped and comfortable, and it catered perfectly for our group of three adults, a child and infant. Tina was on hand the first and last days of our stay. With a warm welcome, she provided us with lots of useful information about the local area. And if I needed to talk to her about anything urgent, she was an email away, using the free WiFi. There's no phone reception in the Cow Bay/Cape Tribulation area!
This is the only location you'll ever be sandwiched between two World Heritage Sites - the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree National Park. The house was ideally positioned to access the beautiful coastline (pretty Cow Bay Beach is a two minute drive down the road), various day activities up towards Cape Tribulation including snorkelling on the reef, access the really informative and well set up Daintree Discovery Centre (a five minute drive up the road) and just be immersed in the rainforest itself. It almost felt like an island removed from the rest of Queensland!
And if you hang around long enough, you might be lucky enough to see a cassowary or two.
Tina's house was lovely to stay in - a true oasis hidden away in the rainforest and a great place to relax and unwind. The location was wonderful - a few minutes drive (or half hour walk) to the gorgeous Cow Bay Beach and close to boardwalks and other sights and attractions. We loved waking to hear the birdsong nearby.
The house also has great facilities for its remote location - Tina's film collection on her computer was fantastic for rainy evenings and the wifi worked without problems. Matt and Sara were great hosts too - being near enough to help us when we needed (full of smiles and friendliness) whilst giving us total privacy for our belated honeymoon.
Would definitely stay here again when we return to this gorgeous area. Thank you Tina, Matt and Sara :-)
Five of us stayed 6 nights in this beautiful self contained home. Excellent airflow and an abundance of fans kept us cool even in the sweltering heat of tropical summer.
Tina was very helpful in showing us the local swimming holes and walks. Even though we were disappointed we couldn't swim at the beach (because of the stinger season), the creeks were spectacular and resulted in many days of relaxation.
Highly recommend this home for your holiday. You will be pleasantly surprised by all it can offer.
Tina's place is a thoughtfully designed, airy, beautiful sanctuary in some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen.
The house has all the conveniences one could ask for yet is also ecologically responsible. I would recommend taking as much time as you can here because it is a little spot you would not want to leave. I felt I could have lay in the hammock listening to birdsong and unwniding in the surrounds a LOT longer than our three nights.
Tina is an extremely gracious and considerate host and her local knowledge led us to one of the most satisfying and memorable holiday experiences we could have asked for. These sort of experiences are the one of the reasons why NOT to choose a hotel or hostel over these little accommodation gems wherein you get so much more than a poky room and predictable decor : )
I love movies, there are so many favourites! the last books I read were the Millenium Trilogy - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo etc.... One of my favourite books is Shantaram, and am currently rereading the Hitch hikers Guide to the Galaxy :)
My favourite foods stir frys, wraps, Thai, salads, fruit smoothies and green juices.
I'm fascinated by science, that the Higgs Boson exists; I always wondered what gave atoms mass, not really but I am very interested in all facets of life.
I have travelled and know how important it is to feel safe and welcome so that is how I am as a host. I am nearby for assistance if needed, or on the rare occasion I'm away there will be other exceptionally wonderful people nearby to assist you. Your privacy is respected, linen is always clean and keeping in touch is possible via wifi that is included in your booking fee, or in emergency just walk over.
