Tina's house was lovely to stay in - a true oasis hidden away in the rainforest and a great place to relax and unwind. The location was wonderful - a few minutes drive (or half hour walk) to the gorgeous Cow Bay Beach and close to boardwalks and other sights and attractions. We loved waking to hear the birdsong nearby.
The house also has great facilities for its remote location - Tina's film collection on her computer was fantastic for rainy evenings and the wifi worked without problems. Matt and Sara were great hosts too - being near enough to help us when we needed (full of smiles and friendliness) whilst giving us total privacy for our belated honeymoon.
Would definitely stay here again when we return to this gorgeous area. Thank you Tina, Matt and Sara :-)
Five of us stayed 6 nights in this beautiful self contained home. Excellent airflow and an abundance of fans kept us cool even in the sweltering heat of tropical summer.
Tina was very helpful in showing us the local swimming holes and walks. Even though we were disappointed we couldn't swim at the beach (because of the stinger season), the creeks were spectacular and resulted in many days of relaxation.
Highly recommend this home for your holiday. You will be pleasantly surprised by all it can offer.
Tina's place is a thoughtfully designed, airy, beautiful sanctuary in some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen.
The house has all the conveniences one could ask for yet is also ecologically responsible. I would recommend taking as much time as you can here because it is a little spot you would not want to leave. I felt I could have lay in the hammock listening to birdsong and unwniding in the surrounds a LOT longer than our three nights.
Tina is an extremely gracious and considerate host and her local knowledge led us to one of the most satisfying and memorable holiday experiences we could have asked for. These sort of experiences are the one of the reasons why NOT to choose a hotel or hostel over these little accommodation gems wherein you get so much more than a poky room and predictable decor : )
I've rented two houses in the Daintree for a honeymoon with family and my parents and sister stayed at Tina's place. This was a perfect place for them and they really enjoyed their stay.
The place was clean, well designed and modern (which fitted them perfectly as they were a bit scared of such an exotic location for French Canadians).
Tina lives nearby and was very helpful both before our arrivals and once my family was there.
I am really happy with booking her house.
Gorgeous little house tucked away in its own chunk of paradise! It was so worth spending the extra couple of hours driving from the airport to cross the Daintree River, it's a different world up there, so lush and tropical.
After our full days of activities we spent each afternoon/evening sitting on the verandah eating cheese and drinking beers before cooking up a quick meal. It was such a lovely spot to wind down.
It's only a 2 minute drive down to the secluded Cow Bay beach, so it was the perfect place to start or end your day.
And Tina was a fantastic host. She stopped by on our first morning (we'd arrived late the night before) and helped us out with any questions we had. She even lent my partner a pair of shorts he could use as boardies as he'd forgotten his!
This stay was fantastic. The property 'is homely' and the interior is very attractive with nice fixtures. Tina the host also has put (email hidden) on the surrounding Daintree area. We found this information and tips on highlights in the area proved invaluable to us as we only had three nights which we would of loved to have stayed longer.
The property itself is well thought out with modern facilities, a washing machine, fridge, large modern TV, books, a number of resident birds on your doorstep, Internet and a great selection of movies which is very impressive considering the property runs on solar power yet the backup generator wasn't required during our stay at all. We had no issues with being able to charge our little bits and pieces that form part of modern life!
On our arrival Tina introduced herself and offered to assist us in any way, and was very pleasant to chat to. She was an excellent host whilst giving us complete privacy during our stay.
Tip for the next lucky person to stay -- Tina also has a couple of kayaks that are well worth taking out onto the ocean.
Tina provides a great house with comfortable beds and bedrooms, a wonderful bathroom and tub, and if you like cooking a huge gas stove. Close to the beach or you can sit out on the front deck in the sun and soak up the sounds of the Daintree. Highly recommended!
We had the most wonderful stay in the Daintree. The house was beautiful, spacious and private surrounded by rainforest but easily accessible to all the local attractions. Tina was a fantastic host- incredibly helpful with anything we needed. It made it possible to have our first family holiday with our 1 year old twins - no mean feat I can assure you! Would recommend it to anyone coming to the area who wants something more than the regular resort experience.
Tina was really accommodating, and the house was very private and quiet. All necessary provisions were in the house. Daintree is very isolated, with very few services. Make sure you are prepared with any necessities that you need.
