Guest Cottage Venice with Bikes!

House - Entire home/apt · Walnut Avenue, Venice, CA 90291, United States

The Space

Fully remodeled and very private Guest Unit tucked in the back of our beautiful Venice Garden Property. Studio has large bedroom, kitchenette (microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, sink, with dishes & silverware), bathroom with shower and heat lamp, office with Wifi, desk and outdoor cafe table surrounded with green & floral scenery. In your yard, there is also a deck that extends off the bedroom of the other house-please keep in mind it is a shared yard- but please feel free to use it!
Hardwood Floors and Saltillo Tiles throughout. Bedroom has Cal King memory foam bed with memory foam topper that is super dreamy. Closet with hangers and a shelf to unpack your things. Clean bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, mirror and heat lamp with plenty of open shelf space for your personal things. There is a garden at every turn. Roses, bougainvillea, citrus trees, avocado trees, flowers and herbs everywhere.

The space is best for 1 to 2 people. However, if you would like to add another 1 or 2 max, just let us know (before your check in) and we can give you an air mattress with bedding.

We have bikes with lights and locks available for your use. Washer and dryer including detergent free for use.

We are just a short walk or bike ride to local farmers markets, grocery and drug stores like Whole Foods, Albertsons, Rainbow Acres Natural Foods and Walgreens, coffee houses, restaurants, movie theaters (including the brand new AMC dine in theatre!), famous Venice beach and boardwalk which allows you to bike all the way down to the south bay and all the way up to Santa Monica. We are close to famous Abbot Kinney Blvd, Marina Del Rey, and all city bus terminals. Also if you want to check out downtown or Universal City Walk, we are just a short ride to the Culver City hub for the Expo line. A super fun (and environmentally conscious) way to explore LA without fighting traffic!

Street parking is available and easy as pie. Almost always just right in front of the property.

Our property is quiet and peaceful. We've been told that the bed is so comfortable its hard to get out of it---which is why we included freshly ground coffee and a coffee/espresso/cappuccino maker with your stay! And when you do get up, please feel free to take it easy in the hammock and pick some oranges or lemons from our tree in the front yard. When you're ready to explore, grab a bike and head to the Venice or Santa Monica Pier, beach or board walk. Let us know if you need any recomendations for restaurants, shopping, sightseeing etc. We're surrounded by some of LA's best. We look forward to meeting you!

**UPDATE: We have added a dead-bolt lock on the inside of the house. While our neighborhood is family friendly and very safe, due to reviews/recommendations from guests we've added this element to make your stay more convenient. Previously you had to lock one door from the outside and go in the other door. Now you'll just slide the dead-bolt from inside.

Please remember that this is our home that we have opened up to you. We are just a couple who loves to meet and host people. We are not a huge time share or 5 star resort nor do we have a staff on hand. Please be conscientious of this. We want you to have the best time possible, so please let us know if there is any way we can better accommodate you.

  • This place was sooooo awesome! Too many things to list, but I'll just name a few:
    -Bed is incredibly comfortable!
    - Everything is very welcoming and warm.
    - Beautiful little spot to sit out in the back and have coffee.
    - Bikes were a blast to ride around town.
    - Mitch and Rebecca are easy to contact, and very responsive
I could go on, but trust me, Mitch and Rebecca have this AirBnB thing down pat, this is the place you want to stay.

  • My friend was visiting from Virginia, and we wanted to stay near the beach, so I found this little gem. The bed was super comfortable, and the atmosphere peaceful. We had a great time, and I would definitely recommend this place and renting from Mitch and Rebecca to others.

  • A wonderful cottage in the heart of Venice! Clean, comfortable and responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay especially meeting Rebecca and Mitch. They gave us great local scoop on yoga and restaurants.

    Response from Mitch & Rebecca:

Thanks Philippe, it was such a pleasure to meet you and your friends as well! Come back again anytime! Take care

  • We had the best time when we stayed here for 3 nights in August. We loved the garden cottage, especially the fact that there were two bikes available for us, was a plus! We took them every day to get to Venice Beach. The location is perfect, not far from Abbot Kinney Road. We didn't meet Rebecca and Mitch, since they don't live on the premises, but they were always available for questions. The patio is not entirely private, as it's a shared patio, but we had a nice time meeting the other guests in the adjacent cottage. If I'm coming back to LA, I would definitely stay here again!

So glad you had such a good time here! It was a pleasure to host you! Come again anytime!

  • Really cool spot and exactly as described in the listing. The location is just far enough away from the craziness to be quiet and relaxed but also close enough that you can easily get to all bars and restaurants that Venice has to offer. Mitch was super friendly and hospitable, pretty much the perfect host. I don't know what the secret is but sweet lord that bed is worth the price of admission alone. All around great experience and would stay there again in a heart beat.

    Response from Mitch & Rebecca:

You're awesome. The bed is amazing right?! We're so glad you enjoyed it and our neighborhood. We'd be happy to host you again anytime!
    Take care!

  • We found Mitch and Rebecca's place a great base for exploring LA. Venice Beach is only a short bike ride away, and bikes and locks are provided with the guest cottage. The bed is one of the comfiest I think you will ever sleep in! All of the main roads are easily accessible so we used Venice as a base for visiting Hollywood, San Diego, Long Beach etc. Parking is available outside the property although there are some restrictions for street cleaning. Despite the warnings from Mitch and Rebecca we forgot to move our car and got a ticket (whoops). Just make sure you move your car over to the other side of the street or park on the property when the street cleaning is due to take place.

  • We stayed here for 2 nights in late July. The place was perfect. It was clean had impressive amenities including a toaster, minifridge, satellite TV, and one of the most comfortable beds Ive ever slept in. The interior was well designed and felt up-to-date. The location was great as it was very close to abbot kinney and venice beach, especially on bikes. I would stay there again in a heartbeat if I was in Venice beach.

We are a couple of young professionals loving life in LA. We work hard and love to have a good time and enjoy life with friends and family. We like to cook meals at home as much as dining in the local restaurants in our neighborhood (and there are many). Biking, surfing, going to yoga, watching movies and dancing in Black Rock City are just a few of the things we might be doing on our free time. We look forward to traveling a lot more and feel so fortunate to have meet the guests we've had in our almost 3 years as Airbnb hosts! We could go almost anywhere in the world and be hosted by those who have traveled to us. We love to share our passions and things that make us happy. But are always very respectful of space- we want our guests to feel comfortable enough to come to us for anything that may make their stay more comfortable or just to chat and get to know some "locals." Mitch is native to Los Angeles, which makes him a great resource for things to do, go and see while here as well as helping you with the best route to get there. Rebecca is a native of Wisconsin bringing lots of midwestern generosity & hospitality to the mix.
