The Space

This is a finished basement in a quiet residential area of Bay Ridge. Spacious & private downstairs living space has it's own private entrance in a very safe neighborhood.

We do not charge a cleaning fee and therefore we expect guests to keep everything in order, within reason. That means there is the expectation to not find dirty dishes or a fridge full of leftovers. Don't worry about linens or towels or garbage in the trashcan.

Fully furnished living room comes with 2 comfy sofas, coffee table, & HD satellite television. Separated by a door is the bedroom with a new queen bed and a sliding door closet & down the hall is your own private bathroom.

There is a kitchen with electric stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and full size refrigerator.

Great location 1 block from express bus to Manhattan and/or 1 bus stop from subways. We are 2 blocks from Third Avenue which has plentiful ethnic restaurants and shops.

There is electric baseboard heating throughout for winter and air-conditioning for summer.

Additional Amenities Include:
* WiFi Wireless Internt
* DirectTV satellite TV.

Great place for a stay in New York, please message me if you have any questions about the property or surrounding area!

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Spacious place to stay in Bay Ridge, definitely worth staying. Full equipped kitchen, bathroom , living room and bedroom. Feels like renting the whole house ourselves. It is located at the basement so some footsteps from upstairs maybe heard but otherwise it is a great place to stay.

    Love the cable TV ! Got to watch playoffs from the comfort of the lounge. Wifi need to be restarted few times but otherwise works fine.

    Stephen and Jennifer are great host, easy to reach and will always try to make sure our stay is comfortable.

  • We stayed here for 5D4N. We were so impressed with the apartment. Clean. Tidy. Cozy. Spacious. Very much suit our personal taste.

    The location - superb. We just have to walk for abt 5mins to Bay Ridge Ave subway. I felt safe walking alone early in the morning or late night.

    As I love cooking, i would say they have a lovely kitchen with a huge fridge.

    Our flt had been retimed late eve and we requested for a late check out. Scott allowed us stay as we wish.

    We didnt meet jenny or scott during our stay. They just let us enjoy our days peacefully !!

    TQ Scott and Jenny.

  • We had a great time in this place in May 2014. All description and photos correspond with reality. Our expectations were satisfied completely! It's closed to subway (10 min walk). It takes about 50 minutes to get into Manhattan (34th Street) from their place (in May 2014 cause r-train bridge was closed). Place was clean, safe and comfortable. And some words about owners: Scott and Jenny were very hospitable!
    Highly recommend to everyone!

  • The host was amazingly helpful and nice. I couldn't have chance to see them, but they supported us via text. Some tips and directions to Manhattan was on the paper documents at the table.
    The rooms were exactly same as shown in pictures on Airbnb. Couches and bed were soft and comfortable. and the kitchen had enough equipments.
    We didn't have any problem except WiFi internet. It was unstable so we need to reboot router sometimes, but I think it will be fixed soon. (if you reboot it, you won't have problem for a while)

    overall, I will definitely book this apartment again when we go to NY.

  • We had really good stay in NYC. The apartment is super cozy, freshly renewed and warm. Really close to subway and bus. 4th and 5th avenues (2 and 3 blocks away) have great choices of grocery stores, restaurants and delis.

  • Nice and clean place to stay, they also put drinks and butter in the fridge which you can use. When i was leaving, they gave me a local cab number which save me about 20 dollars to get to manhattan! If you are looking for a quiet, safe and convinent to stay in brooklyn, it should be a prefect place for you to choose.

  • We had a great experience at Comfy Place. Jennifer and Scott are very nice and accommodating hosts. The apartment is private and well appointed with easy access to Manhattan via the Metro Subway. Highlights include: easy access through the keypad on the door (no key needed), Satellite TV, Nice Coffee Maker, a FANTASTIC Shower with high pressure and good heat.

  • The apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures and description! It was pretty clean and the neighborhood is amazing. If you're looking for a peaceful place to rest and to feel what's to live in a traditional Brooklyn South neighborhood, go for it! The views from Veterans Memorial Pier worth it.

  • The space was amazing. It was clean and homely. When we were there, there was total privacy. We could do what we wanted, and come back without any problems. The space was just divine. We HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a home-like atmosphere away from home. It might even be better!

My name is Jennifer and I am from Peru. My husband Scott is of Norwegian heritage. We love traveling and meeting people from other cultures. We have a great house with a large comfortable basement apartment that we would like to see put to good use. I speak Spanish of course and a bit of Italian and Scott speaks Norwegian. We enjoy hosting people who come to explore the city and look to make the stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
