Description

The space

This is a panoramic and bright apartment. from every front windows it enjoys an impressive view over the surrounding valleys.

The apartment is composed by two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large living room with kitchen area.

It is accessible by car and a free parking (no resident permit needed) is available just in front of the entrance.

Montepulciano is such a small, quaint and cozy town that travelers can feel "at home" almost immediately and welcomed as a part of the community rather than an anonymous tourist in a crowded city.

Yet Montepulciano is a perfect central location for day-long field trips to cultural and historic centers as Siena, Florence and all the other numerous classic destinations of central Italy!

We (my two little girls, my housband and my self) stayed in this wonderful B&B from Friday to Sunday, a few weeks ago. Maria (James' sister, the host) gave us a beautiful apartment on the second floor. I have to say that as soon as we entered the room we thought "we wanna live in this house!". Two big bedrooms, two bathrooms, open space living room+kitchen, and a lot of light due to several windows through which we enjoyed a lovely lovely view. From the bedrooms you can see the famous hills for which the region of Tuscany is known worldwide. Original antique floors, wooden ceilings, typical chairs, sofas, tables, original furniture...absolutely wonderful! Moreover, the apartment has a washing machine, microwave, oven, big fridge, etc. The fact is that the entire building is lovely, typically ancient, but in terrific "shape" due to the hosts' attention and passion, with wonderful stairs and a fantastic garden that will surely be appreciated during the summer (we went in February). The host has been very very nice, always at our disposal and ready to provide useful tips on Montepulciano. We also wanna say that the place is absolutely baby friendly. We love it, we felt like at home, and we hope we'll have a chance to go again. Montepulciano is a beautiful little town, full of history, with lots of things to do (we happened to be there during a chocolate festival), places to visit, etc. Obviously the wine is the fulcrum of Montepulciano (the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a very good Italian red wine). While we were there the wine cellars were always open. We went out for lunch and dinner everyday and I have to say that we always found incredible food and wine, unlike many other Italian towns or cities where restaurant owners tend to be disrespectful of foreigners thinking that they will not understand the difference between good food and bad food. There is also a famous castle, an ancient church, and a nice little park for children. Don't miss the Poliziano Caffè!

The location couldn't be better with clear views over the valley. The South East aspect meant that in January we could see the sun rise and still have sun through the day which flattered the warm tones of the terracotta walls, antique furniture and walls. Maria gave lots of practical advice and insight into the history of the building as well as Montepulciano itself. The larger of the 2 bedrooms had a very comfortable bed and was possibly the most beautiful room we've slept in because of the views from the 2 French windows. The overall accommodation standard is a bit rustic but the sense of place and overall comfort makes up for this and we thought the rental rate good value. The hosting was just really great and we'd come again.

The apartment exceeded our expectations, it's located in a beautifully renovated house in a perfect location - main piazza and most of Montepulciano's attractions are just a few minutes away by foot, yet the view outside the window is simply magnificent, spanning surrounding hills. Right from the start we felt like we were at home thanks to the hosts, who were very hospitable. We got our private parking place just outside the building, which is amazing considering how packed the whole town is. The apartment is very well equipped with two bathrooms and a fully fledged kitchen with dishwasher, all necessary utensils etc. There's even a kettle for us tea lovers, which isn't something you see often in Italy :) Overall we loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. We hope to come back in the summer some day and get to use the beautiful inner yard this apartment offers, unfortunately it was a bit cold this winter to fully utilize it.

Jame's apartment is beautiful and very cosy. The location is near the Piazza Grande and this makes visit to the Christmas market very convenient. The apartment's kitchen is fully equipped for our cooking. The temperature in the apartment is about right. Maria is a nice host. She is helpful and prompt to answer our queries. We highly recommend this historic apartment if you visit Montepulciano.

Thankyou Giacomo and Maria for a wonderfull stay in your apartment. We can highly recommend this AirBnB place to anybody who want to beautifull Tuscan experience. The views from the apartment are fantastic, and the hosts are extremely helpfull. Giacomo's English is perfect and he even helped me with scanning and printing some business pages for me. Very clean, well stocked apartment in central location, within city walls, walking distance to all main attractions within the town. We would love to come back! Gerrit Blok and Alison Mackay

WOW!!! What can we not say about Giacomo & his sister, Maria's amazing apartments in heart of Montepulciano! My husband and I stayed at the Politian apartments for 5 nights and it totally blew us away. Maria was there to greet us when we arrived a little later than expected due to problems with flights but it was no problem. She showed us to our 2 bedroom self contained huge apartment which we learnt her and her brother had grown up in, coming from a long line of Scottish decadents who settled in Italy in the 1800s. What Giacomo & Maria have created in this once huge Palazzo into now 4 sympathetically renovated apartments is amazing. We felt totally at home & ease and were not left wanting for anything. Either one of them is floating about during the day and ever helpful if you need information about the area, where to eat, what to know or any advice. Maria even dropped off and collected our drying cleaning from her dry cleaner for our Italian wedding! Our particular apartment was a massive 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home which was beautifully decorated with many original pieces, the kitchen was modern & we cooked 2 nights with everything we needed. It has a washing machine, TV, big kitchen table, grand entry hall and even access to an outdoor sitting area where we drank tea and soaked in the sun. We hired a car but there is free parking around the front and close by & we never had a problem. The location itself is also perfect, central and right off the Main Street where you will find many restaurants and shops, our favourite was Osteria del Conte which was recommended by Giacomo for it's home made Pica pasta which was amazing!!! All in all we really can't recommend Giacomo & Maria's Politican apartments enough! Our 5 glorious nights in the beautiful Montepulciano and country side was made even better with our stay at Politian apartments! As many stars possible!!! Thank you Giacomo & Maria!

Buongiorno. I was born in lovely Montepulciano. Graduated in International Relations in London (UK) I worked for years in legal services of the European Union in Brussels and presently running an international company providing marketing and management to international vacation rental properties. Since 2010 I started with my sister Maria a thorough renovation of our old family house in Montepulciano making several apartments. We are glad and proud to open our residence to those wanting to experience a living in the "Renaissance gem" village and being part of our community.
