My apartment is located on a quiet residential street three minutes from Lasalle Metro station as well as number of Bixi (public bicycle stands). Night buses drop you off just steps away for all those who like to stay out very late. Close ( 5 - 15 mins walk) to Amenities (grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants etc.) Upon arriving just ask me for a quick tour of the vicinity.

About the neigbourhood:
This quiet and convenient location is just about 10 mins from central downtown by car or metro. Wellington street (three blocks down) boasts a number of trendy restaurants, cafes as well as cheap eateries. Just steps away from the St. Lawrence river where you can experience a country feel right in the heart of the city. Atwater Market/Lachine Canal, a trendy shopping spot is just a 20 mins walk away.

Beyond the amenities, I love being a host, I'll give your your space and privacy but please don't be shy to ask questions.

Interaction with Guests

I try to be there to help my guests with suggestions and recommendations. When I can, I will invite guests to join me for drinks with friends. Work hours can sometimes limit my ability to interact. Guests can always ask if they have any special requests before they arrive and I will be happy to let them know if I will be able to accommodate them.

The Neighborhood

Newly gentrified area with diverse people. Features a lot of new cafes and restaurants. Nightlife is a little on the quiet side but there is a great micro brewery a few blocks away.

Getting around

Metro is three minutes away. This is one of the best parts of the location!

  • Mel was (email hidden) to me. She is kind, easy going, willing to help me with whatever I needed and was open to adjust to my schedule.

Her location is superb. Just around the corner from a Metro station, great for downtown visit, easy access to everywhere.
Also many fun and hip restaurants, cafes are within approximate.

The room was comfy, charming, clean and had plenty of space.
Entire apartment is functional, tasteful and easy to find everything you need.
Her cats are the sweetest. They adopted me right away.

    I definitely recommend Mel's space!

  • This was our first experience with Airbnb, and we could not have asked (email hidden)! In fact, over the course of the month we stayed with her, she became much more than that; she is now a very dear friend. Mel is a warm, welcoming person who goes above and beyond to ensure that you get the most out of your visit, who is happy to show you around the city and share her life with you, while also possessing the good graces to accord her guests the privacy they require.

  • We (a couple in late 20ies) were staying in Montreal for a few nights during our trip through Canada. Mel was pleasant, welcoming, and flexible to any arrangements.
The room was big enough for the two of us, the kitchen is well equipped, and we had access to the washer/dryer.
    Recommend!

  • My friend and me stayed with Mel for three nights. Mel was really welcoming and friendly although we got lost in Montréal and arrived with two hours delay. The place is very nice and quiet, and you only have to walk 5 minutes to the metro. Mel has a really cute flat, the room is very comfortable, and her cats are amazing!
Whenever we needed something and she was at work, she answered our emails quickly. I'd stay with her again! Thank you so much!

  • Perfect room, very clean and nice space, close to the green line which makes it so easy to go anywhere. Mel is really nice and I just wish we had been both more available to talk a little more.

  • I was in Montreal to complete work for my university degree and Mel gave me the space and respected my privacy to allow me to get on with it comfortably. Pleasant, welcoming and flexible to any arrangements, would thoroughly recommend.

About
Hello Everyone / Bonjours tout le monde! I'(email hidden) graduate hell bent on seeing the world, sharing experiences and meeting new people. I love traveling, in part because of all the people you meet along the way. That's why I love to welcome travellers into my home, to keep this feeling going even in my own city. I've traveled to parts of Europe, Asia, Central America/ Caribbean. Each place I visit offers me a unique experience but when return, I am always reminded of how much I truly love Montreal. Its a city rich in culture, arts and festivals but so much more, its home. I am proud to be a Montrealer and excited to share advice, tips and stories to anyone who inquires. Pour tous les francophones, oui je peux communiquer en français si vous préférez! The 5 things I can't live with out: Good friends, good food, good wine, travel & my computer. I don't have a motto but I'd say the Buddhist theory of karma suits me (website hidden) expressed in the Thai proverb: Tham Dee, Dai Dee, Tham Chua, Dai Chua (Do good, receive good, do evil, receive evil.)
