A luxurious villa with pool, sleeping 5-7 and finished to the highest standards. Nestled in a peaceful and beautiful hillside location, the gardens and terraces offer awe-inspiring sea views of the Amalfi Coast and the Li Galli Islands.

The space

Relais Mamma Mia is in Nerano, a village in one of the most untouched areas of the Amalfi Coast. Tucked perfectly within dramatic foothills, Relais Mamma Mia is protected on three sides by rocky slopes covered in ancient olive groves, with just the front of the villa open to an expanse of sea and sky. This position offers complete privacy in an area of intense natural beauty.

As soon as you walk through the gates of this luxurious villa, your eyes will be drawn to the exquisite tile inlay on the steps and driveway. As you stroll through the gardens, you will see this attention to detail in the traditional stonemasonry and tile work.

From the large parking area on the top terrace, a stone walkway leads you to the pool area. From here, the views are truly awe-inspiring, sweeping across the striking Amalfi Coastline to the Li Galli Islands. The substantial, in-ground pool is surrounded by a wooden deck and lawn, with plenty of sun loungers on which to relax and an outdoor shower. The pool is open from 1st May until 31st October, and measures 10m by 5m, with the depth ranging from 1.2m to 1.5m.

You can access the bedrooms from the garden and pool area, or take twelve steps down to the main entrance on the ground terrace.

Before you enter, you can appreciate the outdoor kitchen and dining area, boasting a large brick pizza oven, traditional barbeque and dining table. Why not book one of our private chefs and enjoy a delicious Italian meal made with local ingredients, or have an authentic pizza party?

Stepping inside, you arrive within your large living room, with a cosy attached den. There is a large sofa which easily pulls out to become a comfortable double bed to sleep two people, plus armchairs. Bookshelves and a large flat screen television line the walls and there is an attractive open fireplace.

Within the den, you’ll find another comfortable sofa, plus a large dining table. The perfect place to relax whilst watching television, or using the Wifi connection that is available throughout the property. There is gas central heating for the chillier months of the year, chargeable at 4.50 euro per m3.

From the den, a corridor leads you to the guest bathroom, where you will find a shower, wash basin, toilet, bidet and washing machine.

The kitchen is also accessed via the den. Furnished with beautiful marble countertops and wooden cabinets, you will find everything you need for easy self-catering, including a four burner gas hob, gas oven, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker.

Returning to the living room, a beautiful wooden fifteen-step spiral staircase takes you to the master bedroom. On the same level as the pool, the room shares the same spectacular views – truly a sight to wake up to in the morning! With high ceilings, a spacious wardrobe, air conditioning and comfortable double bed, you will feel truly at home. Should you wish to step outside, the double glass doors offer easy access to the garden and pool area.

The master bathroom is beautifully decorated, with tile floors, bathtub, shower, wash basin, toilet, bidet and hairdryer, and a large window to welcome in the sunshine.

The second bedroom has three single beds, two of which can be pushed together to make a double bed if required. With the same aspect as the master bedroom, this bedroom also offers glass doors through which to appreciate the breathtaking view. There is plenty of storage for clothing and other belongings, plus air conditioning.

If you can bear to leave the comfort of Relais Mamma Mia, there is much to discover in the surrounding area. The village of Nerano is a hamlet overlooking a pretty little harbour, not far from Punta Campanella, the lighthouse that marks the tip of the peninsula. A beautiful walk starts in the village of Nerano and leads to the beautiful Bay of Ieranto, through olive groves thought to be planted by ancient Greek settlers in the area. The bay is a protected area and a perfect spot for a dip in the clear waters, with spectacular views of the coastline and Capri’s famous Faraglioni rocks.

Relais Mamma Mia is a gorgeous villa, the perfect sanctuary for those looking for unparalleled peace and quiet on the Amalfi Coast.

This villa is absolutely gorgeous as described and in the pictures as well. We enjoyed our stay in Nerano and loved meeting and chatting with people in the small town. The villa is also easily accessible to other parts of Amalfi, although we guiltily admit to spending a few days just relaxing by the pool and wandering out to Marina del Catone (if you park your car in the square by the marina, you'll meet Rico the attendant, who proved to be a wealth of knowledge about places to go -- he was like the town concierge.) for a lunch because the setting of the villa is so serene and beautiful. Feeling Italy was lovely and escorted us personally to the villa -- it was hard for us to find again after dinner the first night! Chris explained things and suggested a vendor for boat trip to Capri and a few local restaurants. Vincenzo, the owner and his family live next door and are lovely. We chatted with them about their beautiful garden and future plans for the property. We were alone as a couple this trip, but do plan to rent the villa again with our children. It would be great for one or two small families. If you stay here -- be sure to eat at Quattro Passi -- walkable from the villa and a wonderful culinary experience!!

Piero was such an incredible help from the moment I contacted him, to the time we arrived and beyond. He was essential in organizing a private boat to Capri with captain Sergio which was an experience I'll never forget. Everyone we came in contact with was simply delightful and the villa was more exquisite in person than in the photographs. The owner of the villa lives on the property, so anytime you needed anything he was a couple steps away. I would highly recommend this villa in Massa Lubrense to anyone planning an Italian getaway to the Amalfi Coast.

My family and I could not have been happier with the service of Feeling Italy. Our host Luigi guided us every step of the way. We felt well taken care of and relieved to know we had someone to contact with anything we needed. Luigi went over and beyond for us - we couldn't be more grateful for his services. The Villa was exactly like the photos. The grounds, the pool, the view are nothing short of breathtaking! The home was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. Olive and lemon trees accented with colorful flowers line the property creating a serene setting that overlooks the Mediterranean ocean and steep mountains. My family and I loved being at the villa so much, it was hard to venture away from it. We swam in the pool, showered outdoors, drank limoncello on the patio and enjoyed every inch of the property. The children were thrilled to have a large pool and space to run around and play. We cooked breakfast every morning, hired a personal chef one evening and even grilled up a few steaks that Luigi was kind enough to pick up for us. The grounds keeper who tended to the pool daily brought us freshly picked lemon and apricot along with eggs from his chickens. Two beautiful beaches are just a few minutes walk from the villa. The small town at the bottom of the hill is lined with one great restaurant after the next. Our favorite was La Serene and Conca del Sogno. The food was some of the best we had throughout Italy! We couldn't have asked for a better location or property. Staying at Relais Mamma Mia was the highlight of our trip to Italy. We can't wait to go back!

A beautiful house and amazing view. We had a wonderful stay with lots of swimming and relaxation. A lovely quiet spot. The team organized a trip for us to the island of Capri, which was fantastic and we highly recommend! Luigi also organized pizza cooking in the pizza oven at the house, it was amazing pizza and the kids loved the experience. I would highly recommend staying here.

First things first, Lucia from the feeling Italy team was fantastic: she met us at a nearby restaurant to guide us to the house, and was always quick to get back to us during our week in the house, helping. Us to organise boat trips and answering any questions we had about the local area. In terms of the house itself, the gardens are spectacular. The pictures are a fair representation of the incredible views, and we really enjoyed the numerous outdoor seating areas. One word of warning - we stayed at the beginning of June, by which point the beautiful pool was still some way short of being a beautiful temperature. The villa is located above marina del cantone, a quiet marina close to nerano. There are a couple of nice restaurants down the hill, so for evenings when you don't want to drive, you can still find something to eat. We enjoyed the location, and with a rental car were able to easily explore Naples, sorrento, ravello, Pompeii, etc. A real highlight was the day-long boat tour to Capri - we organised this through Feeling Italy, and paid EUR85pp - amazingly, we were the only people on the boat, so had an 8hr private tour with a wonderful guide. We used the same boat company for a private boat transfer to positano, which whilst not massively cheap at EUR150, was a fantastic way to see more of the coast. The house is spacious and light. What you will notice is that the house is very large relative to the number of beds - a nice problem to have. The house was spotless when we arrived and generally well equipped. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for cooking, although it was slightly frustrating to arrive to find that there were no basics in the house whatsoever (we had to buy salt, pepper, cooking oil, washing powder... The kind of things you usually find left behind by the previous guests). One of the double beds is extremely firm and not especially comfortable. Worth noting is that the wifi is relatively poor, and we struggled to get any phone signal in the house - if like us, the dream of a week without looking at the blackberry is little more than a distant reality, you may find yourself pacing the garden desperately searching for signal from time to time. All in all, an excellent stay in a beautiful place.
