Come away to the good life on our working farm homestead nestled in the beautiful Driftless area of Wisconsin, 45 minutes from Madison. Relax in an antique iron bed made up with quilts and Pendleton blankets. You'll be surrounded by books, embraced by nature and fed like royalty! We prepare generous farm-to-table breakfasts using what we pick from the fields and our own eggs and meat. We'll accommodate all food issues, with advance notice, and you can book a spinning or knitting class, too!

The space
This lovely valley farm is home to sheep, goats, steers, chickens, ducks, dogs, hogs and cats. In addition to pork, beef, lamb and eggs, we also grow certified organic veggies and fruits - so breakfast is lavish, healthy and fresh from the fields. You can milk a goat and enjoy the cream in your coffee! We love to eat. We also love books and vintage linens and cozy places to curl up and read - including three couches next to the woodstove, a generous shady porch and benches by the pond. When you are done resting you can hike, canoe, run, bike or swim in the town pool a short walk away. We are set on the edge of a restored prairie, next to an oak woods and a 3-minute walk from the Pecatonica River and our own top-rated trout stream. We are 15 minutes from Yellowstone Lake State Park, 45 minutes from House on the Rock and Taliesin, and just 15 minutes from New Glarus Brewery.

Guest access
Guests have the entire second floor, with a bathroom. We'll provide coffee, tea, wine and beer in the downstairs kitchen, and a fire in the living room (when it's cold). Join us for a farm tour, or tag along with chores. You can also book a class while you are here: we teach healthy cooking, beginning gardening, spinning, dyeing, felting and soapmaking. You can even take a boot camp fitness class with us in the morning - or simply plan to just read books on our large porch, wander the grounds and mingle with animals, daydream on one of our many benches or swings and soak up the fresh air. Need more beds for your group? See our other Circle M Market Farm listings for this same property.

Other things to note
We have animals, lots of them, and while they mostly live outside, sometimes they come in the house. So if you have allergies, we may not be the place for you. But if you like cats, you'll be in heaven!

We are located in the gorgeous Driftless Area of Wisconsin, surrounded by rolling hills and gentle valleys. Our small town - a short ten-minute walk away - boasts several great places to eat lunch and dinner, and even listen to live music! We are close to New Glarus and Mount Horeb, which both have great rails-to-trails bike paths, and good shopping. Mineral Point, a historic artists community, is just 1/2 hour away, as is Monroe, the cheese capitol of Wisconsin. Within a 15-minute drive, there is excellent fishing, hiking, tubing, kayaking, boating, bird watching and a gun range. There is a trout stream on the property and a river within 5 minute's walk.

See why we've been featured in six national magazines, including Pioneer Woman, Modern Farmer and Midwest Living! I'm a former Chicago journalist living the good life here in beautiful Blanchardville. My husband and I moved here 15 years ago, falling more in love with the area as each year passes. We keep discovering wonderful drives, shops, restaurants, vistas and people. We'd love to welcome you to our working sheep farm, and send you out to see what our rural landscape and our wonderful neighbors have to offer.

During your stay
We will be available to greet you when you arrive and give you a short tour of the farm. We will also enjoy visiting with you during breakfast - but otherwise we'll be busy out on the farm. We are happy to help you plan your visit and we always have lots of great suggestions for things you can do in the area during your stay. We love it here and we think you will, too.
