UPDATE: Inquire about an unfurnished sublet June-September. Looking for tenants now!
Brownstone studio in the heart of Back Bay, two blocks from the Charles river, and two blocks from Newbury Street. In Logan airport, there's an announcement that says: "Boston, a walking city." You really get that here. A 10 minute walk to Boston common, 15 minutes to the South End, 20 to Chinatown. Two blocks from the commonwealth ave. mall, a beautiful stretch of trees and statues you can use to walk most anywhere. Easy transit to all of Boston and Cambridge. Hynes/ICA T station is two blocks away, 1 bus goes straight to Harvard Square every 8 minutes.
The studio has a bay window overlooking a vibrant intersection, and an exposed brick wall. It includes a couch, full bed, desk, and full kitchen with pots and pans. Bright light, amazing location, and cozy and roomy at the same time. Laundry, grocery and other amenities very near by.
I'm a Ph.D. student and rent the place when I am traveling. Please take a look!
Of course Boston is a lovely american city but staying at Tristan's studio just made it outstanding because of the location and also the convenience of stores nearby.
Ideal for singles or couples.
I had a very good experience staying at Tristan's place. Tristan was very responsive to email, so it was easy to make arrangements. The place was as advertised and is quite comfortable for one person or a couple. The location is very convenient to much of downtown Boston via public transit or on foot, and the #1 bus to Harvard Square in Cambridge runs right by the building. Other reviewers have mentioned issues with it being in an older building - I think it's just part of the charm! I tripped a circuit-breaker at one point by running one too many appliances, but it was easy to re-set it as Tristan had left instructions in case that happened. I would definitely stay there again.
Tristan is a great host - responsive and reliable. The studio was nice for its price. Also, perfect location!
It is an older unit, however, and not without some issues (which are typical of many Boston apartments). Specifically:
- strange smell (I thought it was gas, but Tristan said the unit just gets stuffy)
- toilet can get clogged (I had to use the plunger once)
- no microwave
- first floor facing street, so you may not feel comfortable with blinds open
My sister and I spent one week in Tristan's apartment. It was a very good experience. The apartment is very well situated, and near from the subway. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant to live. Tristan was also easy to contact. We would recommend this apartment and we would be ready to go back for a next stay.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Went on a short weekend trip to Boston to explore the city and found this to be a great place to stay. Tristan was kind enough to mail the keys as we were going to arrive very late.
Everything was clean and comfortable. Tristan was easy to contact and there were no issues with the apartment itself.
The location is great. Not knowing much about the city, we picked it as it looked nice and was in our price range. As it turns out, I'm not sure we could have picked a better location.
All around a great place and a great host.
Tristan is a wonderful host, who provides a warm and welcoming space, with all the amenities you could ask for. The location of his apartment is ideal for getting anywhere in Boston, as it is just around the corner from the Subway and Newbury St. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Boston.
Thank you Tristan for our truly wonderful experience. We were in town for the BU Law graduation and the studio was perfect in every way. Location, location, location. Walk to Fenway, Newbury, Boylston and T everywhere else. The corner market/deli across the street and laundry below were excellent for mid trip tune ups. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks again, Paul and Linda.
Perfect in every way. Tristan was very quick to respond to my request to stay in his apartment and all other arrangements were easily settled. The apartment itself is perfectly located; clean, safe and secure; and well-furnished with a comfortable bed.
Back Bay is a lovely neighbourhood, and the apartment is right around the corner from Harvard Bridge, so a ten minute walk across the river to Cambridge, four blocks from a T station, a half hour walk to Beacon Hill, and very close to great restaurants and all amenities.
Wonderful place, a great location, a great price. The ability to make myself eggs in the morning is something I really value.
