Really good people. We have enjoyed a lot the time that we have shared with Laurence and her family. Really good people. The House is big and we had all that we needed. Maybe first day was dirty but when I told to Laurence, She cleaned better the bedroom. Is the only think that we didn't like at first time.
The House is close to every place 20 min walking.
The dogs are amazying.
Laurence was a wonderful host! She is warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. She answered all of our questions and helped us navigate the city. The house is in a good location with buses and train very close by. The rooms and beds were very comfortable with plenty of room to unpack and store belongings. The 2 cocker spaniels were adorable, docile, and very well behaved. If I ever visit Sydney again, I will definitely return to her home.
Laurence was a perfect host, she is sweet and kind, always willing to help us. She left tea, bread and Philadelphia cheese for breakfast every day. She woke up at 5 a.m. when we left and wanted to carry our bags too, she even called a shuttle service for us, she is really nice woman. The house is charming and the bedroom is big, also the bathroom was really good. The house is located in a good area. Close to supermarkets, some restaurants and train station. It´s 20 minutes walking to circular quay. We had great a great experience there, we would definitely go back and for sure recommend anyone to stay there. Thanks a lot for making us feel so welcome! Best regards! Laura and Mariana
I could merely give a pass to Laurence's Place. The place look 80% similar to those in the pic, and their dogs are lovely. But this also make the room a bit smells.
House is cozy and conveniently located near King Cross station. However my room is the first one from the main entrance so i could hear the traffic from time to time even at night. Overall the terrace is nice but one thing upset us is the showering hour. We spent a lot of time in sightseeing and when we get back, it was usually after 9pm. Laurence asked us to do the shower and use the hair dryer in the morning instead of at night cause the noise would spread out. Our families pretty much sleepy in a soaked hair. I believed if Laurence could stated this in her house rule, we could both be a bit happier during the stay.
Our stay with Laurence and her family was quite a disappointment for us. At the time of our booking, we were promised a kitchen, a washing machine and a TV. Unfortunately, none of these were present upon arrival.
The airnbnb guests (3 rooms) are located on the ground floor whereas the family lives on the first floor which is a private area where guests have no access to. The kitchen is located on that first floor. Up to 8 guests can share 1 fridge and a mircowave. There is a clean but tiny bathroom to share.
This airbnb location is like an hotel stay. You are barely in contact with the hosts and there's no "sharing" between the two parties. In the evening you stay in your room or go out for dinner. There is no feeling of a "home away from home" and we had the impression that the hosts were not honestly interested in their guests. So, if you like staying in an anonymous, formal, imperson hotel, this is an ideal place for you to go.
We love preparing healthy food for dinner and usually have a cooked breakfast in the morning to jump lunch. So this stay was quite a disaster for us, as we had to eat out all the time.
The house is located very close to the city centre and extremely well connected to public transport. Most sights are within walking distance and a lot of (quite expensive) restaurants and bars can be found in the neighbourhood.
It is a very old, beautiful and nicely decorated house. Unfortunately, the wooden floors and walls let the tiniest noise penetrate into your room. You should bring ear plugs if you are easily woken up by noise in the morning.
There are two very friendly dogs that live with the family. They tend to bark in the morning when their masters have left the house. We are used to dogs so this did not disturb us personally. Nevertheless, you should be aware of that before you book and if you are not so fond of dogs.
I hope this review will give some clarity to this airbnb accomodation. Laurence is a very kind person and quite talkactive. Unfortunately you don't get to see or know her!
There is a full bathroom with shower, basin and toilet shared by the first two rooms as well as a microwave and fridge. There is a separate third room with it's own ensuite marble double bathroom with it's own shower, bath and double sink. That room too has it's own fridge too. My 6 year old was very sick over this period and so I needed to comfort and be with her.
I am back from Sydney finally. Laurence is so kind to let all of us (5ppl) to stay at her house. The place is only 7minutes walk away from the station (If you already know the way). Even thought the place is close to Kingscross station, it was absolutely quite at night time. Since other housemates were quiet too, we all had good sleep. The dogs are friendly too. Anyway, Laurence is kind, talk to her about your needs, and she would try to assort with you.
It was really great to stay at Laurence's place. It's well located, big and clean. Laurence has been very sweet with us by helping us and giving us a lot of good advices. A pleasure to meet her, hope to see her again someday.
Laurence has a great place in a lovely area and she was a wonderful host. Highly recommended!
My stay in June was pleasant, Laurence and Ryan were very nice and helpful. Got a lot of tips on what to do around town.
The room and the house were clean and comfy. Location is quite convenient (close to Kings Cross train station) and for people who dont mind a nice walk through Hyde Park, the town centre is just a 25 minute walk away. Coles, pizza, cafe and bars all 5 minutes away.
a very nice pale to stay!very close to king cross station.a so kindly and nice family(laurence speaks french with my dad and he was happy!)!thank you for your host.
