Even before arriving to the building door, you will see that this is a special place as you first enter an enclosed cobblestone courtyard with beautiful trees and gardens. This transforms the entire atmosphere as you are nestled away in this gorgeous newly renovated Paris home. This 77 square metre apartment features two bedrooms plus a loft sleeping area, two bathrooms, and an open-concept kitchen/living room where everyone can gather. It was renovated in 2006, redecorated in 2010, and is the only flat located on the third and top floor of the building (no elevator), guaranteeing privacy, peace, and quiet. The views are splendid, looking over Parisian rooftops and lots of bright open sky. The building was built in 1650, is a historic monument, is surrounded by three hotel particuliers (mansions), all of which are protected by the city.
The flat is located just around the corner from the oldest outdoor market in Paris: Marche des Enfants Rouge. It's also one block from numerous patisseries, boulangeries, boucheries, supermarches, restaurants, boutiques, banks and pharmacies on Rue de Bretagne. A five minute walk to all of the following: Seine, Pompidou, Place de Vosges, Musee Picasso, Hotel de Ville, Musee Carnivalet, and the Republique. A ten to fifteen minute stroll to Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Bastille, and the Left Bank. A 20 minute walk/metro ride to most other major sites in the city. This is the true Marais area, so central and close to many interesting sights/things to do, just minutes to two metro stops - either the St. Sebastien Froissart on line 8 or Arts et Metiers on lines 3 and 11. You are an easy stroll to all of the fascinating shops in the Marais, plus great restaurants.

Travelled with 3 adults and 2 children in March 2015. Karla was great, easy to book, respond and her associate Julien was prompt upon arrival. The apartment was wonderful! Located on the top floor, it was nice to not have anyone above. Our 10 year old son loved the loft. Furniture, beds and linens were fine. Washer and dryer worked well. We did not cook, but did use the kitchen for our cheese, fruit and wine nights. It was well stocked. The neighborhood was amazing, cafes, markets and bakery all within steps. We would stay here again. Thank you!
Karla's place was very charming and in an absolute amazing location! the host was very flexible with our arrival and departure times and very nice and helpfull
the apartment is small but very parisian and has all the comodities we need
the living room is very confortable and the building in itself is very charming!
we were very happy with our choice!
Apartment was lovely and exactly as advertised. Everything worked perfectly, we were warmly met by Julian promptly when we arrived, and found everything we needed. Highly recommend this apartment, the location and our host(s).!!
The condo was lovely and clean with comfortable living room furniture and lots of glassware for drinking wine and tea. And as many reviews mentioned, the owners and welcome person were extremely friendly. Lastly, the location is good. It's a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame and the neighborhood has a nice selection of cafes, bistros, bars, and convenience stores. Our favorite restaurant on the trip was north of the condo called "Le Centenaire."
But with anything vintage there are some downsides. First, the condo was slightly chilly. Sleeping was fine though because of the warm blankets. Second, we struggled with storing luggage because we didn't want to haul a suitcase up to the loft (steep staircase) and the bedroom with the twin beds only had floor space between beds (not big enough for 2 suitcases). Lastly, it's important to note one of the toilets is "electric" so you can't flush paper.
The host made us feel very welcome, they met us that evening and gave us a run down of the unit. Everything in the unit was ok, although we found it to be quite cold and the heat didn't work very well. Great neighbourhood, we loved it!
Hi Sarah! Happy you enjoyed the apartment. I wish you had written us about the heat issue while you were there so we could've given some tips (did you find the thermostat and the radiators were in open position?). One thing is for sure, the heat works very quickly and efficiently - and in fact it can even get too hot for my taste so I keep it low. Anyway, sorry this wasn't clearer, I'll be sure to add a note in the house manual. All my best :)
We stayed in the Le Marais apartment for one week. It was centrally located and very cosy, although somewhat smaller than the pictures implied. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of English books to read along with a number of travel guides, which was great. On arrival we were told not to use the second (electric) toilet which was an inconvenience. Certainly felt very secure and gave a good taste of what it is like to live in Paris.
we had a warm welcome , we were met on time and no issues with communication
the apartment was in quiet location and fitted the description well
neighbourhood is ideal for paris , we walked everywhere , and it's only around the corner fro Musee Picasso
