The space
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). To be exact, this is a 420 square foot studio. There is ample walk-in closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light.

We have plenty of street parking. If it's not available, guests may have access to the off-street parking. The neighborhood is very walkable and the QLINE is running (nearest stop is a 10 minute walk to the corner of Woodward and East Canfield). There is a MoGo Detroit bike sharing station 1 block away (on Second and Selden). Stadt Garten and Castalia guests are low-key enjoying the yard during patio season months until 11 PM Wednesday through Saturday.

Hiya! Welcome to the Alexandrine Studio! Midtown Detroit has been my home since 2012. Detroit was never vacant, but many of the neglected buildings and monuments to its industrial past were effectively abandoned. Now, there are some amazing things going on inside them. The House Manual has lots of info and I am always happy to share more. I am very involved with the art, music, food, cocktail scene here. I moved to the Detroit area in 2008 for medical residency near Pontiac, Michigan. I've been working as a physician in Michigan since then. Mostly in underserved areas. Hour Magazine Top Docs featured me in 2013. You can find the article by searching "The Sugar State." I just recently opened my own Southwest Detroit Primary Health Care office in April 2018.
