The Space

This spacious 1000 sq. ft. 2 BR, 2 BA vacation home is located in Puerto Aventuras, a gated community with the only inland marina between Cancun and Belize City located right in the heart of the fishing zone.

Villas Talia only has 16 units in the complex and is located on the end of the road. You are in a tranquil area and you won’t have to worry about dealing with the crowds or getting a chair by the pool.

'My Casa by the Beach' it is. A ten minute walk through the tropical landscaped walkway will put you on the gorgeous beach that has a coral reef abundant with marine life including sea turtles.

Spend your days, enjoying some of the local activities like swimming with the dolphins, golfing, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, shopping, or just relaxing at the beach or pool.

The street the condo is on, is a short walk that leads to the gate where you can catch a cab to any of the many other beaches, Mayan Ruins or eco parks. Playa del Carmen is 15 mins and Paamul is a fun off the road beach with the best shrimp.

Wake up to the sounds of the jungle birds and watch the Coati Mundi play...simply magical!!!

The condo is stocked with all you need from linens, to pots and pans.

The condo is 45 minutes away from the Cancun airport.

  • Maxines apartment was lovely. Nice big comfortable bed, good shower and an big balcony with a jungle view. In the morning, the early sunshine would warm the balcony while we were having breakfast. On a few occasions a family of Coatis would join us in a nearby tree and eat its fruits. Later we even had the pleasure of watching a couple of spider-monkeys play in those same trees!
Although Maxine is not 'on location' she was very quick to respond to messages and the local caretakers were very helpful in finding solutions to small issues.
All and all a very nice, quite apartment on the edge of Puerto Aventuras.

  • Maxine was great at communicating and was happy to answer all the questions we had. The condo was great! We spent most of our time there sitting on the balcony enjoying all the amazing wildlife that just happened to be right outside. Orioles, Yucatan Jays, Blue Morpho butterflies, and Agouti's all made for a great show. The cooking utensils were well maintained and the showers were awesome.

Puerto Aventuras was a good starting point for lots of adventures. The community itself was not to our liking due to the expensive, lack-luster food, and general absence of culture. The captive dolphins were pretty sad too. However, the gated community left us feeling safe and we enjoyed our walks to the beach.

Overall, the only gripes are about the community. Maxine was great, the condo is outstanding. I wish we had more folks to enjoy it with as this two-bedroom condo was plenty large for another couple. Great price, great time had.

  • We were at the Casa for 3 weeks. Eventhough Maxine lived in Colorado, we had a good service via emails. We found her very kind, helpful and dedicated, but we faced many problems with Internet (that was supposedly included in our rent). It was hard for Maxine to manage, but it finally was partially fixed. For the 1st week, we didn't have Internet. For the second, we managed to have some net moments and for the 3rd week, we did get the WiFi at the Villa, but it worked only for 5 min at the time. Also, know that there were only 2 chairs on the balcony and no table for breakfast and coffee outside. 2 days before our departure, they brought in 2 more chairs and a small foot table. The beach is at least 12 min. of fast walk from the Villa, that is situated at the entrance of the community. Some kitchen ustensils were missing, just 3 sets of plates and not enough space cabinet for food storage. But, also know that there was plenty of linen, towels, drinkable water. The whole appartement was neat and tidy, the bathrooms were clean and lots of hot water. Puerto Aventuras is beautiful!

    Response from Maxine:

    Hi Sophie,
They got the internet fixed the day after you left. Apparently they didn't have enough copper wire to fix it sooner. From what they told me the issue is wide spread in areas of PA. I am really sorry for the inconvenience. If you come back my way, I will add an extra night for free.

  • Maxine was so prompt in answering questions before we arrived in Mexico. We brought our two year old child with us and I just had more questions than I normally would have had in years past. The condo was very comfortable and clean. The king sized bed in the master was one of the best beds I have slept in for a vacation rental. The kitchen had adequate supplies, water was provided, the A/C worked great and the pool was delightful. We even saw monkeys nearly every day. We would happily stay here again.

  • We had a lovely time in puerto aventuras. 'Max was very helpful every step of the way. Waking up early and relaxing on the balcony while the monkeys are playing in the trees and beauitiful colorful birds are singing and the nature around is a bliss. Its a private community so it is a bit pricey to eat at the restaurants and bars there and most of them take cash omly. We rented a car and went to Labna-ha cenote and highly recommended. Its beautiful.. We cooked and enjoyed the tranquility. You can always drive to tulum or playa del csrmen, both close by. Highly recommend this apartment...we felt right st home.

  • We had a great stay at Maxine's condo. It was a wonderful trip overall. Maxine was very good to work with form the time we considered booking her condo all the way through our stay.

There were some small issues in the beginning which we worked out.

Then location was excellent. The setting was quiet and we enjoyed the pool area as well as the town of Puerto Aventuras.

Most of the neighbors were really friendly and were will have many wonderful memories from our time there, The monkeys came out to visit when we first arrived and then they came back for a brief visit a few days before we left to come home. The coatis were always welcome and provide some entertainment around the condo.

We felt completely safe and we would not hesitate renting from Maxine again in the future.

Thank you Maxine. We loved our three months in Mexico!!!

  • Great place. I would do it again. Perfect for my parents who wanted someplace laid back and quiet. They loved walking into Puerto Aventuras and seeing the dolphins. Finding it was the only problem as I was not familiar with the area.
