This 1920 Log Cabin sits at the beginning of the Madison County covered bridges Scenic Byway and features 2 rural country acres of space and a wonderfully remodeled home with loads of character and style. Situated just 10 minutes south of the West Glen area of West Des Moines and 25 minutes from downtown Des Moines, you'll experience the quiet and beauty of rural Iowa while being close enough for shopping or to go out for a nice dinner or evening show. This is a great getaway.

Welcome to your quiet country retreat that's still close enough for all of the wonderful things Des Moines has to offer and enjoy this little property with all its hidden delights.

You'll love the open sky with all of the stars at night, hunting for morel mushrooms that pop up behind the main garage in the wooded area, tasting the fruit from the two apple trees and a pear tree in the front yard, and watching all of the different types of wildlife.

Across the road you can watch the polo practice, or hop on your bike and get on the Great Western Bike Trail just 2.5 miles from the home on the east side of the interstate. This trail will take you south all the way to Martensdale, or north all the way to Downtown Des Moines and Gray's Lake and the weekend Farmer's Markets.

Spend the evening gathered around the large fire pit and private deck, or head on over to the Iowa Distillery or the Cumming Tap for some great local spirits. We provide firewood.

In this home, you'll feel like you're right in the middle of what is iconic America. It's perfect for a weekend getaway for 2 or for a small family reunion or get-together with friends.

No parties or events. This home is for residential use only.
