Colin was an incredibly communicative host and helpful. Would recommend him or the space for anyone looking for a good alternative to an expensive hotel in Portland. Definitely cozy, but meets the needs for 2.

Give Colin and Medina's place 5 stars. Host was great and available anytime if needed. The place was great and provided all the essential features needed. Also the place was close to restaurants and very close to public transportation. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Portland.

We loved our stay at the guest house! It's small, but felt cozy, comfortable, and totally functional for its size. The garden area is gorgeous, and the location is a great starting point for getting around the city. Would love to stay again!

Such a fun place to stay. Perfect for two people. Very cozy and quiet but also within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and other fun excursions. Already recommending it to friends and family!

This was our second time staying in their garden oasis & it was truly an amazing experience. There's a private entrance to the backyard, so it was very safe! We loved staying here & the hosts are VERY accommodating. Collin gave us great recommendations for food & all the places were delicious! We will definitely be staying here again!

The location is amazing, walking distance to everything. The garden oasis is tiny, but we definitely had enough room. The garden is lovely and Colin was super responsive when we needed local advice. This really was a great space.

Colin And Medina User ProfileColin And Medina is a superhost.

The Vardo and the Guest House were inspired by many years of traveling and living in different parts of the world with a backpack or in a camper van. The Guest House was inspired by the bamboo bungalows of Bali and Thailand, the Vardo by the gypsy caravans of Europe. As a designer/builder I love the challenge of taking a small space and optimizing its potential. Medina and I met in Argentina, fell in love in France and she has traded in her job as a human rights lawyer in London to move to Portland and now works for a non profit to help the homeless. We travel as often as possible but not as much as we would like.
