  • This cute little garden cottage is a real gem to stay at when in Portland. We stayed there for 3 nights and we just loved it. The interior of the cottage was pretty new and well done. Colin and Media did a great job on keeping things simple, but stylish. The kitchenette had everything you need to make a small breakfast or lunch, which you could enjoy directly in the garden in front of the cottage. There is also a hammock for some lazy or reading moments. And if you need some TV entertainment they even have Netflix.

And the neighborhood! The neighborhood is unbeatable! Quite, green, beautiful houses and only about 10-15 min walk to the hip Alberta Street, where you can find all the shops and food spots. Perfect for an evening stroll.
Only two block away is also a Whole Foods. If you want to save some money, you can easily grab some food from Whole Foods and enjoy it in the garden.

Oh and for all you Kinfolk fans, Kinfolk offices are on the same street only few blocks away. :)

So if you are planning a trip to Portland you should definitely try to get this place, it's just perfect.

Thank you Colin & Medina for sharing this gem with us!

  • The Garden Oasis Guest House was great. It was convenient, extremely affordable, and a nice quiet base to have fun in Portland. They provided a bike rack for our rental bikes, and were generally pleasant and helpful hosts all around. The space is very small, so prepare to unpack to keep organized. It is so cozy and comfortable. We walked and biked everywhere and we definitely plan on staying there again for future visits.

  • Colin and Medina were lovely hosts! Our room was clean and comfortable and full of conveniences! We were able to keep snacks safely refrigerated and if we had needed to cook we could have! The garden outside our room was serene and beautiful and we were walking distance from a little pub, bar, restaurants, and Whole Foods. We really couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

  • Had a wonderful experience here for our trip. Colin introduced himself to us and was very welcoming. Their home is beautiful and the neighborhood is very calm and peaceful as well. It was everything we expected and more! We stayed 4 days, 3 nights there. Check in was super easy and they had instructions, maps, and guides all in the room for us. Everything was close by and very convenient. Me and my girlfriend would definitely come back here again! Thank you Colin and Medina!

  • We had a great stay at Garden Oasis Garden House. We didn't need much which was why this location was perfect. It had a couch which turned into a bed, a small kitchenette, and a washroom. It's conveniently located a few blocks away from the #8 bus which takes you across the bridge and it's about 8 blocks away from the Alberta District. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to our friends.

  • I booked Colin & Medina's spot for 2 of my friends and they absolutely loved it!

    Here's their review:
From the moment we first saw the guest house, surrounded by lush greenery, we were smitten. It's a perfect small and cozy dwelling place for two when staying in Portland for a few days. It's in a beautiful neighborhood and walking distance from few eateries including a great pub! We stayed in for a couple of rainy afternoons and it was just lovely, with the windows open, enjoying the Oregon air, drinking French press coffee which is provided. We are in love!

About
The Guest House was inspired by many years of traveling and living in different parts of the world with a backpack or in a camper van. I wanted to create something that reminded me of a bungalow in Bali or a bamboo hut in Thailand and also design a small space that functions well. We still travel often and are currently restoring a cottage in France
