Other Things to Note
Please, if you are on a gluten-free or diary-free diet let us know! We are in the country, therefore cell phone reception inside our house is iffy at best . We apologize ahead for any inconvenience this my cause.
Respect for our property. We go to bed early, and although we don't expect our guest to, quiet voices and/or TV after 9:00 would be greatly appreciated. No pets! Smoking outside is allowed.
Ed and Gretchen are fantastic people would made us northerners feel very much at home in the woods of South Carolina. We recommend them to anyone who loves good conversation, beautiful homes, rural peacefulness and strange but playful large black cats named Burt.
Staying with Ed and Gretchen felt like we were visiting with great friends! They were very friendly and helpful. Staying with them made our short getaway to the beach so much more enjoyable and than it would have been if we had stayed in a motel. The rooms were very comfortable and we loved the big porch.
Our hosts were very welcoming and warm. The property is in a beautifully wooded area thick with birds and other wildlife. How relaxing!
This place was fantastic. Very relaxing, exceptionally clean, and well provisioned. It really is about a 30 minute drive into Charleston, but Ed and Gretchen treat you like visiting friends rather than people to process through the weekend.
Their description of their place and themselves is very accurate, but perhaps a bit too modest.
It's experiences like this that make AirBnB shine. They have even made us re-think our position on preferring an entire place versus a private room. I HIGHLY recommend their place for a weekend stay in Charleston.
Ed & Gretchen were great host, the room was nice and the area very peaceful. Breakfast was out on the table with coffee every morning. Great conversations had an awesome time it was a pleasure to be around this couple they have so much to offer anyone that stays here.
We had a terrific time with Steady Eddie and Gretchen. Wow what an awesome couple. The house Full of character and passion put in by Gretchen with her excellent art work . Both are well educated so conversation is easy! House is very private and quiet. You'll need a car. But HIGHLY recommended and we will be back!!

About the Host, Ed
My wife Gretchen and I have been married for over 30 years. As for myself, I am a peaceful, spiritual, happy to be at home person. We do travel but mostly by car. We are both somewhat Sci-fi enthusiast although (other then reality shows) we enjoy a little of everything on tv and in books. We are not vegetarians but we respect people who are. We enjoy a glass of wine every now and then, but we are neither heavy drinkers nor are we "wine snobs". We enjoy food, but our meals that we cook at home are usually simple but on the healthy side. As mentioned we respect peoples beliefs and we are not judgemental. We both love good conversation.
