  • Indeed a peaceful place. Ed and Gretchen are gracious hosts, ready with hospitality and conversation, but not intrusive if I wanted to be alone and quiet in the lovely space reserved for guests. They were cheerful in the morning as I left for the day, and cheerful and receptive if I felt like sharing my day's adventures when I returned in the evening. The bed is so comfortable, and the birdsongs so bright outside the windows that I fell asleep and awoke with a smile. This was my first Airbnb experience, and they have raised the bar pretty high!

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Ed and Gretchen. They were very patient with our schedule, coming in late and getting up early. Conversation was good, bed was comfortable, homemade bread was delicious. Will stay with Ed and Gretchen again!

  • Never have we been made more welcome. Gretchen and Ed have a lovely bedroom and bath very private from their end of the house, plus a room with a frige, tea makings, books, sofa, etc.--so comfortable. They went off to work each morning and left us coffee and homemade bread, etc., plus the company of their neat kitty named Bert. Their home is an oasis of peace and hospitality. We will come back to see them and hope and pray they become our guests.

  • Ed and Gretchen were absolutely perfect hosts! Being so easy going my stay in their home was very comfortable and I didn't realize how relaxed I had gotten until I got home feeling so rejuvenated. Immaculately clean and just enough privacy so that I was able to have my "space" but had two lovely people to spend my time with too! Wadmalaw Island has just enough to do, loved the long walk, the tea plantation tour being so closeby and being able to visit the famous and amazing, "Angel Oak" that I have always heard so much about. I can't wait to come back!

  • Jack and I had a wonderful stay with Ed and Gretchen. They were indeed gracious hosts, and were friendly and easy to connect with. We had the yummy bread of Ed's, along with a great egg scramble for breakfast, which was long and leisurely because we were having such great conversation. We enjoyed connecting with Bert, the friendly cat, as well. Our accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the tub was a perfect size for me! My birthday was the day we left, and Gretchen gave me a lovely painting she had done as a birthday gift! I hope and expect we will visit the Robinsons again, and I hope they come here.

  • Ed and Gretchen were great hosts. The 3 rooms we had to ourselves were spotless and we really enjoyed our time with Ed and Gretchen. Ed welcomed us with hot tea, a glass of wine and a smile. In the morning we had such a good time we left later than planned. This was a very nice experience.

  • Hands down the nicest Air BnB experience I've had. Ed and Gretchen were wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming. The room is spacious and comfortable with a private bathroom and sitting room. The setting is beautiful and secluded, but an easy drive to Charleston. I'd absolutely recommend it!

  • Ed, Gretchen, and Bert (their cat), were outstanding hosts. Everything was as advertised. Very cool house and property, about 10 minutes from the Vineyard we were in town to check out. We were a bit rushed so we didn't get to spend as much time with them or on the property but we will definitely be back soon! We had a great time sitting on the front patio, drinking wine, and just enjoying our surroundings.

my wife Gretchen and I have been married for over 30 years. As for myself, I am a peaceful, spiritual, happy to be at home person. We do travel but mostly by car. We are both somewhat Sci-fi enthusiast although (other then reality shows) we enjoy a little of everything on Tv and in books. We are not vegetarians but we respect people who are. We enjoy a glass of wine every now and then, but we are neither heavy drinkers nor are we "wine snobs". We enjoy food, but our meals that we cook at home are usually simple but on the healthy side. As mentioned we respect peoples beliefs and we are not judgemental. We both love good conversation.
