We LOVED staying at Hale Ha Ha for our honeymoon. The distance to Hanalei Bay, the town and prime location on the North Shore make this an obvious choice, and adding in Susan's helpfulness and local knowledge you can't go wrong. Tons of amenities in the house and a great local vibe. We loved it!
There were 4 of us and we stayed in both suites. They were literally the size of a studio in NYC. Comfortable, big beds, full size bathroom. What made the stay especially enjoyable was her house is a short walk from one of the entrances to Hanalei Bay Beach. She has boogie boards, noodles, chairs for us to use (as well as beach towels/ SPF). We were able to walk to town, though things like Postcards/ Dolphin a bit too far to walk, but you can easily use one of the many bikes she has for use!
I would def stay again when I return!
Susan, thank you for your warm hospitality!
We very much enjoyed our time at Susans place, Ha Ha Hanalei. It's centrally located in Hanalei, quiet, and an equally short walk to the beach on Hanalei Bay or local shops and eateries. Our unit was clean, beautiful, homey, and well appointed. Kitchen facilities are great and saved us money by
allowing us to prepare some of our own meals. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai with a great view of sunrise lighting up the Na Pali Mountains. Other highlights include; solar showers inside and out, washer/dryer, bicycles, snorkel gear, boogie boards, ping pong table, pool table. For those who like
to stay connected, the internet was recently upgraded and works great. Susan is very friendly and easy to reach.
Would we stay here again? In a heartbeat!
We had a fabulous time here on our honeymoon. The place is beautiful, amazing woodwork, very clean and simple... all you need to enjoy Hanalei. Walk to the beach, walk to town. A+ overall. Be sure to print out the map that Susan sends you, it's a bit tricky to find the first time...
We had such an amazing time at Susan's place in Hanalei. The house had great views of Hanalei Falls and the mountains and was just a few minutes walk from Hanalei Bay and the cute "downtown." The house was true to the photos. Susan clearly cares a great deal about this hideaway. We were welcomed by fresh flowers on the tables, it was very clean, had all the kitchen supplies we needed and tons of things to go play on the beach with--bikes, surf and boogie boards, etc. We had the pleasure of meeting Susan as well. She is a gem. We would absolutely stay here again and plan on it when we find ourselves back in Hanalei!
Beautiful place and great (email hidden)y cons are that the neighborhood is a bit noisy due to a nearby school and the internet signal was weak or non-existent in the separate back suite I stayed in. Pros: nice big and sunny space, close to beach and town, and house had lots of beach accessories for use. I enjoyed my stay and would return! Susan was great at communicating and responding to my inquiries.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights at Susan's place in Hanalei. We rented a smaller suite with a kitchenette, dining area and bed that had a view out to the mountains and waterfalls. The property is very well kept with lots of beach related equipment you can use (snorkels, boogie boards etc.). Its also very private and quiet.
Hanalei is probably one of the most beautiful areas we have come across in our travels with an outstanding beach, a local river you can kayak and lots of wildlife (whales, turtles and birds). We are from Vancouver Island and Hanalei reminded us of Tofino on our West Coast. Steeped in nature with a slow pace.
One of the most enjoyable things we did (and there is a long list) while staying there was to use the bikes Susan provides. We used them to get around everywhere and traffic was never really an issue.
Susan was very helpful in getting our accommodation set up and clearly has an eye for detail so we felt very well looked after.
We highly recommend a stay at Susan's place!
