I had the pleasure to spend some of my first days in Oxford at Jeremy's and Helena's place.
They have a lovely house not far away from the city center. I would fully recommend it not only because of the accommodation, but also for the great hospitality of Jeremy and Helena. Jeremy is also a very good baker - bread maker.
Regarding the accommodation, the room was very clean and as presented in the photos. Once per week the cleaning lady was changing the bed sheets and towels.
In general, I recommend it both for short and long term staying.
Very welcoming couple making you feel 'at home' and at ease. Great location a short walk to the bus stop and can be in town in 15 mins. Lovely pub nearby The Plough for good food and friendly atmosphere. Clean, tidy and lovely modern bathroom. Would highly recommend not to mention the healthy breakfast with home made bread and jam!
Staying at Helena and Jeremy's house was a great experience. They were always nice and welcoming, the house and room were perfectly adequate for my needs; I was lucky enough to have a very clean and roomy bathroom for my own. I was given ample freedom o use the kitchen facilities and they provided basic food (like bread, peanut butter, goat cheese etc.) for me. Also, I used the laundry facilities when needed. I should add that frequently we had friendly and interesting conversations.
Helena and Jeremy have been very nice. The room and the house is really quiet and clean. Summertown area is 10minutes from the city centre and all the universities/colleges by bus. There are different bus numbers (6,3S, 300, S2) near their home.
I had a wonderful 13-night stay at Helena's property in Summertown. Helena and Jeremy are both extremely hospitable, and their home is conveniently located. I enjoyed having such easy access to Port Meadow, The Trout and the Thames Path (a short walk away via Wolvercote). I also appreciated breakfasts with Jerry's homemade bread along with being able to tap into Helena's considerable expertise on Oxford history.
Warmly recommended, and hoping to return again one day!
Having been staying at Helena and Jeremy's lovely house for nearly 3 months, I felt so lucky to be with such a super host in every way. Not only did they provide traveling and daily living information but also helped me a lot in my studying and my work. The house is spacious, bright, clean, well-organized and fully equipped. I live in the en-suite room with and cosy bed big window where I can see the gorgeous garden while studying and working. And their cat Purdy is so cute, sleeping in funny postures and always wandering around the garden solo. Absolutely recommended and I am looking forward to coming back again.
I can fully agree to the previous comments. I spent four weeks in Helena’s and Jeremy’s beautiful house. The view in the blooming garden while having breakfast was a perfect start into the day. I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the conversations. Also, the area is perfect for long walks or jogging along the Thames and the Canal. Thank you, Helena and Jeremy for the great time! I hope to see you soon!

About the Host, Helena
I am a university lecturer and married to Jeremy who is a property consultant. We have four children who have all grown up and left home. They visit from time to time at weekends, but as we have 6 bedrooms, there is plenty of room for everyone. We love gardens and gardening as you can see.
