I came up here with two friends for a girls' weekend. The studio was the perfect home base for a relaxing weekend visiting wineries and floating on the river. The studio is small but clean and has all the essentials -- and you're probably going to want to spend all your time enjoying the beautiful garden and river anyways! The town of Guerneville is a short drive away (you could walk but it would be a little long) with a Safeway and several good bars and restaurants. The kitchen is equipped to cook simple meals. There is also a barbecue and two kayaks for your use (though we didn't get a chance to try them out). Ursula was a friendly and helpful host.
I went to stay at Ursula's space over the wknd w/ my boyfriend and our little dog, and we had the best time! The room was quaint and overlooked an immaculately keep garden. With the russian river being only 50 feet away, we made use of the canoe that she provided and had a relaxing adventure on the river in the afternoon. The neighborhood was quiet and the town is very close by, offering up delicious and trendy restaurants. Ursula was an excellent host and very helpful by informing us on the "to do's" in Guerneville. Overall, very happy with our stay, and would come back anytime.
Had a lovely weekend in the garden studio! Ursula was very warm and welcoming, offered a handful of recommendations for the area and was very accommodating with out schedule. You couldn't ask for a better location as the back of the garden led straight to the river. We used the kayak's and although the water was pretty low, we had a great time paddling along. I would definitely recommend this airbnb to others and hope to come back later in the summer.
I took my wife up to Guerneville for a recent get-a-away, not fully knowing what to expect. We had heard of Guerneville's laid-back and whimsical reputation and decided to see for ourselves. We were delightfully surprised to find not only a beautiful and comfy property, nestled in a friendly and hip community, but also a wonderful host in Ursula.
Ursula made us feel instantly at home and doted upon my wife and I like a loving mom. We literally sat for almost three hours; talking, drinking beer and listening to fascinating stories of her life.
At the end of our stay, we felt very privileged, not only to share her lovely home, but also her enchanting company.
Thank you Ursula, our kindred spirit.
About the Host, Ursula
I came from Germany many years ago and have made my home here in Guerneville for the last 14 years. I have been working as a professor in San Francisco for a long time. - I love my house and surroundings; the beauty of it all is breath taking. Much delights me: Swimming in the river, kayaking. gardening and cooking. - I would like to share this abundance here with my guests.
