These are two properties that are adjacent to each other both owned by us. They are similar in all aspects be it layout, furniture, kitchenware, and art work that has been collected from all over the world.
They share a rather large patio and the pool. Patio has plenty of furniture for outdoor dining & sun bathing etc. It also has multiple BBQ grills. Pool is never a frequently used area as guests tend to step directly to the beach from patio.
My wife and I use one property for our use when we travel there. When we are not in FL we tend to rent our side to the repeat guests (most of our guests repeat year after year).
Town's marquee bus called Jolly Trolley stops at the doorsteps!
Everything was as described, but better. Sanjeev was most solicitous, and all local arrangements were managed professionally. The house is beyond belief---perfect views of the gulf, comfortable and well supplied, plenty of room for a family reunion or Eckerd College graduation.
Sanjeev was great to work with after we made the reservation. He was quick to answer emails and offer guidance on the property. It is locally managed by an outfit called Plumlee, who took over the administration of check in/check out as the reservation date got closer. Checking in and out was easy.
The property is technically a duplex. One side is a rental, the other side is the owner's "side" which they too often rent out. The only critique I have is that this is not inherently clear from the postings. The pictures show both the same side of the home, but pre-remodel and post remodel, so it was confusing for us for a while as we tried to figure out exactly what we were renting. A nice Canadian family was in the unit next to us, but I could imagine a situation where you had neighbors that you weren't expecting.
Having said that, the home is AMAZING! It had the best patio of any house within eyesight. The pool was perfect for our toddlers. It's a salt water pool, so you could spend hours floating in the sun. The patio is paver stones, and a 25 meter path through the berm leads you right to the fine sand beach. High tide is probably 150 meters from the home. It could not be any closer to the beach and ocean. Each morning we had breakfast on the deck listening to the surf. Each night we got to watch a gorgeous sunset.
The home is nicely equipped with all the cooking gear you would need. There is a gas grill on the deck as well. There wont be any spices or things like that, but anything you'd need for cooking is definitely there. A Publix grocery store is perhaps a 5 minute drive away. There are several restaurants and bars within 5 blocks of the home and a great food shack about 20 meters from the back door that had good ice cream and cuban sandwiches.
The top floor has a large master suite with an ocean facing deck, washer/dryer and another bedroom with two beds and it's own bath.
The middle floor has a queen bed en suite, the kitchen, a side patio a large open living room and an ocean facing deck. The lower floor (Where you enter the home from the street) has a garage and a large living room that could easily be used as another bedroom (doors close it off to make it private and it has a bathroom).
There is parking for one car in the garage and 2 in the driveway.
We had 11 people staying here for the week (6 kids) and we were comfortable the entire time. Plenty of room. The condition of the home was excellent, especially this late int the rental season. And I can't stress enough, the beach is RIGHT there. It was amazing. We plan to come back some day.
Great house, well appointed access to the beach was fantastic for taking our kayaks and paddleboards out on the gulf.
The unit was in a great neighborhood with access to the beach and restaurants. However, the listing is misleading. This is not an entire house; it is a duplex with 2 units - 101 (which is shown in all the house photos except 1) and 102 (which is shown in just 1 photo). We checked into unit 102 only to find the unit in disrepair. I was told unit 101 is the owners unit and is perfect shape. Unit 102 is rented constantly with no time for inspection or repair. I will detail our many problems in private host feedback.
Dear Guest – I see the following issues you encountered as per your feedback:
“Broken screen on ground floor; sliding glass door on ground floor that was stuck; door in family room on tv armoire fell off; shelf under stove fell off; twin bed frame broken. when it was time to cook on the grill, there was no grate. Kitchen utensils like can opener broken; only 2 of 5 measuring spoons. No drain stopper in upstairs guest sink. Minimal hot water. At one point we needed a flash light; of course, the flashlights had no batteries.”
Our clarification: This a beach property and sand + erosion requires us to take corrective actions very frequently. Yes, we are very very very attentive and a large amount of funds are used aside for repairs all the time. However, some guests are not careful enough to handle doors and screens etc. and end up skewing them a bit.
Also, it’s a big property and we provide so many household things. At times, the cleaning crew puts things in myriads of drawers. Guests might have to look around in different drawers for smaller things like measuring spoons before raising an alarm. Just a matter of calling property management company or adjusting it.
Twin bed frame was not broken but might have been misplaced by someone moving it. Just a matter of putting it back.
As far as batteries in the flashlight are concerned, it’s common in the beach areas to keep batteries outside the flash light in a nearby drawer. Some guests might not look around before complaining. Just a matter of inserting batteries.
Minimal hot water is relative; there are bathrooms and if large group of guests end up taking shower in different baths simultaneously or around the same time for a long long time, yes, hot water would exhaust itself for few minutes.
This is a lovely duplex. It was very clean, very roomy, nicely equipped, and has a beautiful view. We did not use the pool, we found it too chilly. We enjoyed the fact that there is limited commercial activity in the neighborhood around the property, but we found everything we could have wanted nearby. Our week there was full of family and friends - a perfect venue.
The home is spacious and inviting and its proximity to the white sand beach is unbeatable! Sanjeev responded to my inquiries in a prompt, friendly and thorough manner and check in was simple once we arrived. Our expectations were exceeded as the home is even more spacious and beautiful than the photos. The living room and master bedroom are huge! Great for a group. Our group included a few families with babies. We enjoyed walking between the house and the beach with ease. The beach is quiet and lovely with the award winning west coast sunset. Take out dinner from the Kooky Coconut just steps away from the house was convenient for our group one night. Highly recommend this rental! My friends and I hope to return!
This beautiful home on the beach is gorgeous, very accommodating. It is spacious. It was lovely to see the sunsets. The host was very helpful. The location is ideal; we walked to dinner several evenings to fabulous fun restaurants. I look forward to returning to this wonderful home.
