RIVER COTTAGE is a warm comfortable traditional stone cottage located near to the sea at Inch on the Dingle Peninsula.
It is conveniently located for Killarney, Dingle and Tralee. It comprises two bedrooms, one with a deluxe four poster bed!
Comfortable & cosy stone cottage dating from the 19th century and featuring an open fireplace and wood burning fire as well as many other original features such as slate floors and sash windows. Located on the Dingle Peninsula, near to Inch beach and only 30 mins drive from Killarney, Dingle and Tralee.
The cottage has two bedrooms (one with a four poster bed) and a large kitchen and dining area with views of the Slieve Mish mountains and beautiful gardens. The cottage is situated next to a small river, on the owners four acre smallholding where we grow our own vegetables and look after a menagerie of animals including sheep, lambs, donkeys, cats, chickens and a dog. There are walks from the cottage to both the mountains behind (Caherconree at 827metres!) or the sea in front at Castlemaine Bay (5 min walk). The local shop that sells pretty much everything is open from 8am to 10pm , 7 days a week and is only a 2 min car journey away.
Private parking for two cars but sadly, no internet connection unless you bring your own mobile 'dongle'
All our guests are welcome to wander around the 4 acres and especially say hello to and feed the donkeys and lambs . The mountains behind and the sea in front can be accessed from the door of the cottage via a small walk in each direction
We live in the farmhouse next door and are on hand to help with any advice needed (or to lend the odd food ingredient). We enjoy talking to our guests but are wary of the need for guest privacy as well. We are usually around most days to feed the animals and maintain the garden and grounds.
This is a spectacularly beautiful part of the world whereby you can see the sea and mountains from most parts of the Peninsula (as well as the kitchen!) and experience the real sense of rural Ireland. The people living here are hardy and friendly and the pubs are lively and fun. Traditional music and Guinness proliferates!
You need a car to fully enjoy the beauty of the Peninsula. No public transport exists except linking the local major towns but trains run to Tralee & Kilarney and flights go into Kerry Airport (20 mins. away)
The cottage is ideally placed for those wishing to see both Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry as well as Dingle and the whole of the Dingle Peninsula.

Nick's cottage was a delight and the perfect place to take my parents while visiting the original family farm in Castlemaine. Roaring fire in the evening was a treat, and there are good facilities for cooking and washing clothes etc. A great traditional Irish experience. Nick was friendly and welcoming. Two days was not enough! Cheers, Kelly.
Nick and Annie were lovely hosts and the cottage is the real Irish experience. A nice living room with the burning stove, a very well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Not forgetting the huge amount of infos of activities to do in the area waiting for us. Nick was also very upfront on how the heating/cost would be so no bad surprise at the check out :) Perfect way to visit Kerry and the Dingle peninsula, the landscapes, the pubs, the people, a must do in Ireland!
Nick and Anne were terrific hosts, the cottage was perfect, and the Dingle Peninsula was more beautiful than I could have expected. Nick provided driving directions from Dublin for me and promised to be by his cell phone if I had any trouble. Highlights of the cottage were the wood burning stove, the easy to use laundry machine, and the next door neighbor sheep. I had a great few days staying their by myself, but it also is a great set-up for families with the second bedroom, a collection of boardgames, and all the different pets. I'm glad I chose to stay at Nick and Anne's cottage instead of in Dingle Town. It was a quieter more suburban setting with an easy and breathtaking drive into Dingle. Despite its remoteness fuel and groceries and bars were all quite convenient. I can't recommend Cosy Stone Cottage enough.
Its strange but we don't think we live in a remote place but compared to New York, I suppose !!!...............Killarney is just 25 mins away and Dingle -just 30 mins away and beach restaurant just 10 mins away. Mountains on the doorstep and sea views from the garden.
The sheep are actually ours, as are the donkeys, chickens and soon to be........new born lambs!! Thanks Jim, please visit again any time.
