Williamsburg, currently one of New York's hippest neighborhoods, is an unlikely amalgam of small houses, warehouses, clubs, coffee shops (LOTS of coffee shops) galleries, new condominiums, dozens of restaurants, a wonderful book shop, bars, performance spaces, a world-class cheese shop, thrift stores, clothing boutiques, and looming remnants of the New York waterfront's industrial past.
Our apartment is on North 7th Street, two and a half blocks from the Bedford Ave stop on the L train, the first stop in Brooklyn and a 5-minute ride from Union Square. It's a half-block from the East River State Park, which has summer concerts and a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline. An esplanade runs south along the river. From a landing at North 6th Street there’s ferry service to various stops in Manhattan and Brooklyn. There's a running track in nearby McCarren Park and a bike path along Kent Avenue. At the end of our block, every weekend between April and November, there's Smorgasburg: an outdoor artisanal food market where approximately 75 vendors sell both packaged and prepared food, from pulled pork sandwiches to fried anchovies and heavenly donuts (Saturdays). On Sundays, there's the open-air Brooklyn Flea, a mix of booths selling vintage, antique, and handmade goods, as well as food vendors.
We supply sheets and towels.
We don't charge a cleaning fee.
We speak French, German, and Italian.
The apartment has:
* a private entrance through our garden
* two bedrooms with queen-sized beds
* a complete and fully stocked kitchen
* tons of sunlight

Our house rules are straightforward. Please treat the apartment as you would your own home. Please tell us of any problems so that we can fix them as soon as possible. If between April and October please be nice to Roberta (the African Desert tortoise). and Please have a wonderful visit to New York.
This place is very clean and so well placed! Close to many cool bars and restaurant, only few steps from L subway.
Bob and Sevgi were very helpful, we felt like at home.
I recommend this place without any hesitation!
We had a great stay. Bob was very communicative before the visit and it was very easy to check into the apartment. It was really lovely and in a super location. We would go back in a second if we are going to Williamsburg. (And we may!) Really great!
This was a great apartment with two great hosts in Bob & Sevgi. The size was perfect for two couples. It was the first time in Williamsburg for 1 of the couples so the location was perfect, a few blocks from Bedford & 2 blocks from the water for a nice sunset to end each day. Would definitely stay here again.
We - two adults and two children - had a great time in the appartment which is situated just great in Williamsburg. Very friendly welcome and help. The discription of the appartment fulfilled its promises.
Superb location, close to the L line and (I would strongly advice that) very close to the East River Ferries that can carry you to 34th Street or Brooklyn Bridge and Wall Street.
Nice and clean apartment, very bright and warm when snow falls outside.
A warm and efficient welcome from the host's representative, who was kind and helpful to explain how things work.
We would definitely recommend this location.
The apartment is just as described and we loved staying there. Very comfortable and great location. The hosts were nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend staying here!
We were here for three nights in early March and the apartment was perfect for 4 people. Very clean and very conveniently located. There is a grocery store a couple of blocks away and the subway stop is just a short walk away (and from there, it really is just a few minutes to Union Square in Manhattan). We have to mention the fabulous meal we had at Rosarito's fish shack (just a few steps from the apartment). Wish we would have had more time to explore Williamsburg and the rest of Brooklyn further. We unfortunately did not get to meet Bob, who was out of town, but we were greeted by Sevgi, who lives downstairs, and all went well. We appreciated being able to leave our luggage after checkout time for a few hours. We could perhaps have found parking on the street but did not want to have to bother moving the car so we left it at a parking garage down the street for the whole stay for a reasonable $16 a day.)
