We are very clean and very comfortable with central air conditioning during the Shuswap heat.
Our continental breakfasts are comprised of homemade cinnamon buns, muffins and other goodies as well as several different fruits - some from our own trees, You are welcome to try the cherries on our trees, peas in the gardens etc when they are in season, Guests enjoy breakfast at our tables beside the fish pond.
We have a business licence and fire and smoke alarms for every room. Your comfort and safety are very important to us so please let us know if you need anything.

Please note that in the pricing children under 16 are free. Let me know if you need extra beds for children. I will make every effort to accommodate your needs.

Guest Access

Guests have free access to the yard and all tables and chairs. There is a microwave, toaster, iron, and ironing board in the hallway for guest use.

Interaction with Guests

I only interact with guests at their request. I am always available but like to give my guests privacy. I am very happy to spend time with guests and teach about the garden and First Nations culture if the guests request this.

The Neighborhood

I think the best thing about the location of the house is that it is located on the edge of a green space with a hiking trail right beside the yard. It is not unusual to see deer, raccoon and other animals wandering in the yard if you are an early riser. The resident pheasant likes to make himself heard in mating season. He tends to strut around the yard as if he owns the place and it is not unusual to witness a territory discussion between he and younger males.

Getting around

The local bus stops about 1 block away but the trail is an easy walk downtown if you are a walker. I am happy to pick guests up at the bus if necessary.

Other Things to Note

We have done a small wedding in the yard as well as a conference hosting 17 participants.

Your host is a registered Cranio Sacral Thereapist so you may book in advance for Cranio Sacral Therapy or relaxation massage therapy

  • Good breakfast !

  • I liked that Renae's place had a separate sitting area from the bedroom. The bathroom was very clean. We enjoyed sitting outside to eat our breakfast. I would suggest getting directions from Renae before arriving - both (website hidden) maps and our gps were incorrect. Renae was very helpful once we called her.

  • My family (me, my husband and our 2.5-yr-old daughter) stopped over at Salmon Arm on our drive from Calgary to Vancouver. We had such a wonderful and well rested stay we wished we were staying for more than a night! My husband was ecstatic when he first stepped in and was checking out the place “Separate living and bedrooms! Mini-fridge! Wardrobe and drawers! Private bathroom! Lots of towels, soap and shampoo! TV! Air-conditioning!”

Renae has a very nice and cozy bed and breakfast. And the best thing is the price - it's great value for money. We got way more than we expected for the low price and Renae was very thoughtful to boot. She emailed us in advance to asked if we needed an extra bed for our daughter and had one set up and ready for us. I loved the fact that she had the air-conditioning turned on so that the room was nice and cool when we arrived - it was the perfect respite from the summer heat. The cool temperature helped my daughter sleep through the night and us adults had a wonderful rest to prepare for next day's long drive.

While there wasn’t a kitchen provided, we didn’t need one because we were only staying for one night. We bought dinner and there was a microwave for us to heat food that we’d brought along with us. Everything else was provided for - cups, kettle, plates. There were also some packets of microwaveable popcorn provided in the room!

Breakfast was huge with lots of choices and delicious to boot. We woke up to find breakfast all laid out on the table in the hallway. There was something for everyone in the family - milk and coffee, different choices of cereals (my daughter was delighted to find Cheerios), toast and butter and jam (my favorite), muffins and cinnamon buns (loved them) and a whole basket of fruits (hubby's favorite). Did I mention the nice, big backyard with a pond to sit out and chill in?

Bottomline: Our stay in Salmon Arm was to rest and recharge for our long drive home and we certainly got more than that at Renae's. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast, and we will be staying here again if we ever pass by Salmon Arm again!

  • My family and I enjoyed our stay with Renae. She is both kind-hearted and determined. We feel lucky to have found her place. Thanks Renae.

  • This was my first experience at a BnB. Renae set the bar high! Our unit was very spacious and had its own full private bathroom! Breakfast was very nice and the home was quiet which we appreciated. In a very nice location right beside a hike trail and close to all major services.
Would gladly stay again. Thank you.

  • Renae welcomed us and settled us in. Salmon Arm offered up a beautiful evening, a tasty meal, Wednesday night live entertainment, ospreys and beavers. Though a little run down, the apartment offered comfortable beds, our own entrance and a wholesome breakfast. Suitable for a one night stop, I would need a lighter/ brighter, more spacious place to stay for longer.

  • Renae is a warm & welcoming hostess. The rooms were very spacious, spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was a selection of cereals, fresh fruit salad from Renae's garden, choice of bread and lots of lovely cakes and muffins.
We would love to have had more time to chat with Renae but we could only stay one night,

  • Great time at Renae's ! Such a nice lady :)
The whole family enjoyed having breakfast in the lovely garden : a very good breakfast too.
Going to the Rockies meant for us meeting people too : meeting Renae, Che and Puss was a great experience for us.

  • Renae made the reservation process simple and was very flexible and easy to reach when our travel plans changed at the last minute. We only needed the space for a short stopover on a long road trip but everything was as advertised and suited our group perfectly. The yard was great for our dog and kids to roam while we had a leisurely breakfast before getting back on the road.
