About this listing
Ideal for exploring London, the Studio has everything expected of a self-contained flat. And we live next door if help is needed.
In a Central but quiet area, we're very close to trains, buses, and the Underground, and a short walk from Hyde Park.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Studio. Guests have exclusive use of the Studio with its own private kitchen and bathroom. The Studio is equipped with a washer/drier, dishwasher, combination oven (grill/convection/ microwave), iron, laptop safe. Shared use of the patio.
Guests can cook for themselves, or make use of the complementary breakfast supplies provided daily.
We are located a short walk from Paddington Station, which is the destination for the Heathrow Express & Connect services from Heathrow Airport. The Express service takes just 15 from Heathrow.
Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens are a 5 minute walk. Oxford Street and the West End a few (bus or Underground) stops away. There are 4 underground lines within 8 minutes walk, as well as Paddington Mainline. Waitrose supermarket is just five minutes away.
Bayswater is well served by shops selling useful things – there are many banks, bureaux de change and cash machines on Queensway, as is the Post Office, and Boots the Chemist (open until midnight).
Whiteley’s Centre (Queensway) is the local shopping emporium, and contains shops such as Marks & Spencer, Zara, H&M, Gap, and The Body Shop. Waitrose is the best local supermarket on Porchester Rd and is open until 9pm each evening except Sundays when it closes at 5pm.
Westbourne Grove has more interesting shopping options and as the Grove reaches Notting Hill the shops become more exclusive and expensive. Westbourne Grove is also the route to Portobello Rd - famous for its weekend antique market.
Local recommended eateries within walking distance include Patisserie Valerie (Viennese style café on Queensway), The Frontline (modern British on Norfolk Place). Cafe Anglais in Whitleys is a real treat. There are many Chinese restaurants on Queensway (near Queensway station) and The Royal China is famous for its Dim Sum. Pizza East is on Portobello Rd is also very good but is a bus ride away or a 25 min walk.
There are many other restaurants locally including many chains including McDonald’s, Burger King, Pret a Manger and Bella Italia. There are also several very reasonable Indian restaurants.
Local pubs include The Porchester (corner of Bishops Bridge Rd and Porchester Rd), The Redan (Queensway) and The Albert (Queensway). Most pubs serve food at lunchtimes and in the evenings.
Guests have full (and exclusive) access to the Studio and its amenities, as well as the shared outside Patio.
Interaction with Guests
We are happy to supply information about public transport and getting to places of interest etc. Our flat adjoins the Studio, so we are usually on hand if needed. But mostly we leave guests to get on with their holiday.
We love living in Bayswater because it's a quiet residential neighbourhood, is very close to Hyde Park, and access to the West End is easy. Transport links to other places are great too.
We are an eight minute walk from Paddington Station which is fifteen minutes from Heathrow Airport via the Express service. Paddington also serves Oxford, Bath, and the west of England.
The Underground service is great because we are within ten minutes walk of five different lines. We are also surrounded by buses that regularly pass within a few minutes walk, including the night bus service.
No smoking inside the Studio.
Our neighbourhood is a quiet residential area and guests are asked to respect that.
The Studio is located at basement level down some steps from the street. It is therefore not wheelchair accessible.
