As a German family we had chosen the Haven simply for the location. Close to Sandton, Hyde Park and Rosebank. And it was perfect. Just a couple minutes by car in either direction. But then there was much more to it: The house with its beautiful garden is living up to its name "The Haven". A true South African haven. Inside and outside spick-and-span! In addition we felt very safe. Breakfast is lovely. Warm croissants fresh from the oven- thanks to Robert! And yes Robert and Anne made us quite speechless with their warmth, hospitality and love. May God bless them abundantly! And - We will return!
Anne and Rob are great hosts welcoming us into their home, and very helpful with information for places to eat / visit etc. Great location; close to everything. The croissants were simply delicious!
Great B&B with lovely hosts. We only stayed one night but were very happy with everything. Our hosts were very accommodating, the room was comfortable and the fresh baked croissants were lovely! We highly recommend this B&B.
It was perfect staying with these fellow hosts! Not super hosts for nothing !they totally go the extra mile for our comfort safety and general info on Joburg offering the convenience of low cost lifts too which is a huge bonus in a city which is wonderful but also dangerous. These hosts in such a country are marvellous and to be highly respected as they have a harder job than we do in relatively safer countries. They chat willingly about their country and its exciting transition in an open and hopeful way giving much insight to us travellers! Thanks you all Best wishes Alex x
What fantastic hosts, they really went out of their way to make us feel welcome even sourcing some dairy free yoghurts for my son. The house is tranquil and the perfect place to relax between tourist trips exploring the city. We used cabs to get around because of the children in tow but shops and malls are within walking distance during the day.
I don't know where to start. Tracey was lighting fast with her response to my inquiries from beginning to end. She planned a great few days of activities for me. Robert and Anne were lovely. The both went above and beyond to make my short visit as wonderful as possible. They are hospitality at its best. The house was absolutely beautiful, inside and out. The croissants were delicious, and their dogs are so well behaved and quiet.
I'm hoping to come back to South Africa in 2 years for a longer visit, and The Haven will be my first stop. Thank you all for everything.
Rob and Anne were great hosts. They took very good care of me. Anne's homemade croissants are delicious, so make sure you get up early enough for breakfast. Their beautiful house, which has a very large yard, is located just a few blocks from the entertaining Illovo neighborhood. Sandton and Melrose are also nearby. I'd love to stay with them again.
I am from Johannesburg,South Africa and at the moment working in London United kingdom as a therapist.I love traveling and meeting new people and seeing new (website hidden) parents Robert and Anne and myself welcome you to our little paradise The Haven.
