  • This private bedroom and bathroom in an older home has a great location! The home is very close (i.e., two blocks) to Kapiolani Park and the Zoo, and is less than a five minute drive to several beautiful beach parks adjacent to Diamond Head. There are two full-service grocery stores (including a huge Safeway) which are both open 24 hours and which are located about a three-minute drive from the home. There are several casual restuarants about one-to-two-blocks away, with a large concentration of interesting restaurants and shops in the Kaimuki commercial district an easy five minute drive away.

  • Dana was a great host! The room was exactly what it looked like in the photos and the house was easy to find. It was in a great location, only 10 minutes to walk down to the main shopping area in Waikiki. The restaurants near her place are also all really good - we tried them all! I will definitely be recommending Dana's accommodations to friends and family traveling to Honolulu in the future. Thank you Dana :)

  • Gracious and accommodating hostess, clean, comfortable room, and wonderful spot in Honolulu. I can't say more nice things about my stay except thanks!!!

  • We stayed 4 day 3 night with Dana, only see her once at check in time, so the privacy good enough. Everything completely same as introduce from website although we did not use them too much. The disappointed things are: at last night stayed, we came back about 11:00pm, and no any hot water at all !!! We can not shower to take off salt water on our body. Maybe 11pm is too late so Dana turn off the hot water? We waited to next day, but still no any hot water, and the Wifi disappeared! Maybe because we almost need check out? By the way, I killed at least 2 cockroaches, not little bugs! If you could accept these things, other thing was fine.

  • This is a convenient location to the Waikiki Beach and other attractions. There are some great local and inexpensive restaurants within a five minute walk from the room (Pioneer Saloon, Surf Side Cafe, Bogarts Cafe and Diamond Head Cafe).

Dana is a gracious host and has supplied many amenities to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. Before overpacking like I did, check with her to see what's included with the room so you don't bring unnecessary items.

Her amazing artwork is showcased throughout the room and you get the feeling that you're in a private bungalow with the breeze coming in your windows and the sounds of birds outside your window. It's very much an escape from the madness of Waikiki.

Only negative is the park located between the room and the beach is home to many homeless people. From a safety perspective, I used taxis if I was coming back to the room from Waikiki/Honolulu if it was after dark.

This is a great value for the room size and features that you receive!

  • I could heartily recommend this place. It's a perfect stay. Very close to everything but still a very quiet place. And Dana is an affectionately host . Thank you so much !!

  • Beautifully quiet after noisy SF apartment stay. Lovely bed. Dana kindly let us in early after a midday flight. House is "tired" but did not detract from a very pleasant stay. Good food/smoothie cafes close by. A good walk to the beach. Two hours solid walk/jog to get to the top of the Diamond Head Crater outlook and back. Ideal place to stay if you dont have transport and are prepared to walk.

  • We saw Dana as we arrived and as we left. She was a lovely host with helpful suggestions about our stay in the area. The location is great, near Waikiki and in a beautiful neighborhood. The bed was comfortable and the room included free Wi-Fi and cable TV. We did not spend much time in the room, but when we were there, it was comfortable and quiet. We would happily stay there again. Dana went out of her way to provide excellent hospitality.

  • Everything was excellent! Very nice and perfectly located neighborhood, the beach (and more) is into walking distance. The room was just as the pictures show it and had everything we needed (including towels for the bathroom and extra towels for the beach!). Dana was very nice and friendly and answered all our questions. I would definitely choose this place again. Mahalo!

  • Lovely place and charming host. Extremely well located (very close to waikiki and Diamond Head) in quiet and nice neighborhood.
The room was perfect for us and our baby. If we come back to Hawaii one day, we will repeat at Dana's!
    Merci et à bientôt!
