The Space

What's awesome about our place?

- Breakfast is included. Eggs? Yogurt? Croissants? Yes! Whatever you'd like.

- Free beer. Yeah, that's right. Help yourself to a complimentary homebrew in the fridge.

- Borrow our bikes! There's no better way to get around the city. We live right off a separated bike path that takes you all the way downtown.

- Flexible check-in and check-out time. Arrive as early as you'd like, leave when you want.

- Check your luggage downtown. Arriving during the day and want to site see before heading to the apartment? Check your luggage any weekday with me at my office at Downtown Crossing.

- We LOVE Boston and we know it well. Want to know the best bars? Where the food trucks are? The secret best view of the city? Concerts and festivals? We're in the know and happy to help you plan what to do while here. Your room will be stacked with maps and guide books.

You'll love staying in the guest room in our second floor apartment. We're RIGHT OFF the main street of Jamaica Plain and 3 BLOCKS FROM THE T.

No cleaning fees!

Free on street parking anywhere on the weekends, two blocks away on weekdays. But really, Boston is better without your car. We've got 2 bikes available for the borrowing.

You'll have your own private porch and room in a 2 bedroom that you'll be sharing with us, your hosts. Make yourself at home and use the kitchen and living rooms.

Other good stuff to know: Multiple fans, but no air conditioning. We provide towels, shampoos and soaps. Wi-fi and television to plug your laptop into, but no cable. $1 a load laundry in the basement. (bring quarters)

Also, as a bonus, we're somewhat of experts in free and cheap events going on in Boston.Need something? Just ask.

Guest Access

The entire apartment, except for our bedroom, is yours to use.

Interaction with Guests

Up to you. We've done some great dinner parties with our guests. We've also sometimes just said hello and given the house tour.

The Neighborhood

JP is full of hip progressives and there's plenty of really great geared-towards-locals bars, restaurants and shops.

Our neighborhood ROCKS and we are right in the middle of (website hidden) space galore, the best restaurant in Boston, fantastic bars, thrift shopping mania, the Sam Adams Brewery.

Getting around

You'll be staying a 1 minute walk from all the action in JP. We're super close to the city center too (about 25 minutes), but out here you're surrounded by green space, a neighborhood-vibe, friendly folks and free parking.

Want to see the rest of Boston? We're a 5 minute walk from the nearest train stop. (We'll have a "charlie card" for you.) From there it's about 20 minutes to downtown on the T. Getting to Harvard Square is easy too. About a 30 minute drive or bike ride or a 45 minute T ride.

For the cyclists, we're next to the Southwest Corridor bicycle path that goes all the way to Back Bay off the road.

  • Megan was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire booking process and stay. When I arrived, everything was labeled clearly and I was provided with all the information I would need for the weekend. It is the perfect spot if you need to be in JP-I was able to walk everywhere. Thank you Megan and Chris for making my weekend stay in JP so enjoyable!

  • My experience with Megan was great, leading up to the trip she was very informative about how to get to her place.

The room looks similar to what the photos. Overall the place wasn't the cleanest, the shower was ok but the pressure was low, and the fridge and kitchen had a funky smell. The room isn't the most private, the TV/living room area is right outside so if anyone is watching tv or playing video games it's right there. Also the power chord in the bedroom wasn't working which we didn't realize this until the morning when we saw that our phones weren't charged, when we plugged them into the actual outlet it worked perfectly.

The location was perfect for us and the balcony off the room was amazing. Megan got us fresh croissants in the morning which was spectacular! It is a great spot if you want to stay in this area which is easily accessible to other parts of Boston.

    Response from Megan:

We've now gotten that power cord fixed. And you're totally right about the shower head. It's been dying a slow the death the last 2 months. We have installed a new AWESOME one. So sorry we didn't have it in time for you.

  • Our stay at Megan's and Chris was really nice. We felt welcomed and were really happy about the craft local beer in the fridge that they kindly offered.
The room was super comfy we slept really well!
The balcony was lovely too, we enjoyed drinking a beer on it at the end of a long day.
The informations Megan gave us were very usefull and we didnt have ANY problem finding the place and a free parking or the T station.
    Thank you again :)

  • We stayed at Megan's apartment in Jamaica Plain and it was great! We knew we were getting in very late from the airport, so she helped us navigate in advance by setting us up with an Uber discount, describing how to get to her apartment, and then leaving the keys in the mailbox. The room was cute, clean, and stocked with local travel guides and maps. We used their bikes (locks provided) to easily get to downtown Boston via the off-street path, and generally only came by the apartment to shower and sleep. We met Megan and her partner briefly while they were cooking dinner, and they were very nice. Jamaica Plain is an awesome area!

  • We had a great time in Boston, Megan and Chris were wonderful! Even though we didn't get to see them much they were very nice and did everything they could to make our trip enjoyable. Their place was wonderfully cozy and clean and we would definitely stay again. :)

  • For the most part, the apartment is similar to the photographs on the
website;however, it really isn't apparent that the room being rented is
directly in front of the main living room. Just a consideration if you are
seeking privacy. The door doesn't lock very well and creeps open at night.
Megan advised us that this is fixed now and a former guest broke the lock.
So, it should not be an issue for future guests. As with most older
buildings, there was a lack of electrical outlets in the room and bathroom-
but we were able to plug our phones in the kitchen pantry. We found two
long hairs in the bed when we pulled down the sheets. However, after we
brought it to Megan's attention, she reassured us that she changed the
sheets and cleaned on the room- so it must have been stray hairs from
somewhere. We were a little late arriving due to the ferry that brought us
back to the mainland from Martha's Vineyard. We let Megan know and
apologized for the delay. When we arrived, Chris was inside the apartment
waiting for us. Keys were also left in the mailbox. The neighborhood is
somewhat gentrified, and very hipster. Chris was nice and polite. He gave
us some hints as to places to go, etc. and let us know about the morning
coffee and food in the fridge. His tips were helpful. We set out to see
Boston and then came back to the apartment around 1:30AM. Hopefully, we
didn't disturb too much but the bathroom is directly adjacent to their
bedrooms, and with the wood floors it is very difficult not to make noise.
Overall, the neighborhood wasn't for us but it was cute. Lots of
restaurants and shops. We left the next morning around 11am, and both Megan
and Chris were gone for the day. The stay was okay overall and I would
recommend this place to young travelers, seeking a hip urban environment.
We had some issues regarding communicating with Megan during and after the
trip- but we found out that it wasn't due to Megan ignoring us but rather
due to us mistakenly responding to Airbnb notifications that we were
receiving via text rather than directly to Megan. Megan was not receiving
    our text messages.

    Response from Megan:

We certainly wash and change the sheets between every guest. We would never think to do otherwise! We do hang-dry sheets outside, so perhaps the errant hair was from that?

A guest broke the lock on the door the previous week - it is now fixed.

I just searched through my voicemails, texts and emails for messages from Tenez - she emailed just once and it was while we were on a trip, so I checked for the notebook when we got home and did not find it.

Also, we're heavy sleepers, so no worries ever about waking us up!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Megan in Boston! She provided us with all sorts of reading materials, which we weren't able to use due to our short stay, of all of the how, what, where, when, why and who related to Boston. Megan provided us with a Charlie card, which made getting around town much easier. The apartment is located just a hop, skip and a jump from the heart of Boston. The room, including bed, was comfortable.

I contacted Megan via text message while we were out and about in Boston, and she prompted replied to my inquiry.

  • Had a lovely time at Megan and Chris' home! The bed was really comfortable, and we had a good night's rest. It was pretty warm in Boston the day we got there and they were nice enough to set up a fan in our room. The next day, Megan made us great breakfast sandwiches and coffee.

  • This was a great place to stay for our three days in (website hidden) is a really fun neighborhood with lots of green spaces, walking distance to restaurants and shops, and super easy access to SW Parkway bike path into downtown- Which I totally recommend as a fun way to see Boston!

  • I stayed for 1 night after arriving in town late. I never actually laid eyes on Megan but the lead up communication was second to absolutely nobody. Megan was fantastic. She made Granola which was just lovely and had everything written on a blackboard that was available. The room was large and bed was comfortable though it's subjective as what I think is comfortable may not suit others. Very close to transport into the city. Very quick trip into the city too. Lovely quiet neighbourhood and shops close by. Your every need is taken care of by Megan and I thoroughly recommend a stay at her place.
