The Space

Please note this is a room with a single bed. It suits Mon - Fri early rises as there is a cafe next door. Ideal for those who like privacy and a dark room for sleeping. Close to CBD and priced accordingly.

There is a shuttle bus from the airport to either the front door or close by ($20), the skybus to Southern Cross + short tram ride, or a taxi ride (approx. $60).

The home recently featured in the Financial Review and The Age Newspapers (7.3.2014) for it's enhancing renovation.

The furnishings have changed since the photo was taken and there is now an asked for small desk in the room.

Is a dark and private room in the center of the home. The large single bed is particularly comfortable. A ceiling fan, large mirror, writing desk & chair, and decorative storage cabinet complement the room.

The toilet is located just across the hallway and is almost exclusively for the guests use.

My schedule can be busy so I may rarely be seen, though I'm always available to provide any necessary information, friendly interaction or recommendations.

The Neighborhood

Within a couple of minutes is the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Crown Casino, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Arts Centre, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Etihad stadium, Vintage stores, South Melbourne Market and Southbank.

Take a lovely 15- 20 min walk along the affluent, buzzing Southbank Promenade to the city. This path stretches along the south side of the Yarra River and is Melbourne's Leisure & Entertainment Precinct with outdoor dining, sidewalk entertainment, top class retail and boutiques and theatres. A market is held on Sunday mornings..

The 96 tram from City Rd (a 2 min walk away) goes directly into the CBD or to St Kilda.

Beach and water sports 5 mins away and a beautiful beachfront promenade runs to St Kilda.

The No 1 Tram goes directly the Arts Precinct, Theatre District and Federation Square which showcases daily events and is the heart of Melbourne.

There are many excellent wine bars, cafés and restaurants close by, fresh produce at the South Melbourne Market and a supermarket a couple of minutes away.

Close by is the Botanical gardens with beautiful floral walks and lakes, and a wide array of events, theatre and outdoor musical festivals.

Getting Around

There is a shuttle bus from the airport to the front door or close by ($20), the skybus and tram (approx $22) or taxi ride (approx. $60).

Public Transport is located practically at the doorstep and will take you absolutely anywhere you need to go in Melbourne.

Myki cards can be borrowed for topping up and getting around on all public transport.

The City Rd 96 tram stop is a 2 minute walk away and runs from 5am- midnight through the week and til about 1am on Friday and Saturday nights.

The bus from the city stops across the road (Garden City; 250 & 251)

Melbourne Bike Share station - a great way to cycle wherever your heart desires.

Most places are easy to walk to. The CBD is a lovely 20min walk along the Yarra river through Southbank.

Other Things to Note

The preferable time for check in is between 2pm- 8pm. This can be flexible, but it’s necessary that you contact me with details *before* you send the booking request through, just to make sure the time you have in mind will be possible.

There is a cleaning fee of $30 for stays of 2 nights or less.


This is a great find for guests visiting Melbourne for a conference or an event, who are holidaying, or for those who are fortunate to be moving to Melbourne, and need somewhere to stay while looking for something permanent.

House Rules

Common sense, open communication, keeping shared spaces clean and tidy & mutual respect for each other’s property is the best guide to make it a positive experience for all.

A current passport or Australian driver’s license required on arrival.

Smoking is ok outside in the back garden or rooftop area. Inside the house is non-smoking.

Only guests booked in are to be in the house.

Night time is quiet time, between 10pm and 6am. Arriving home after 10 is fine, but best to be quiet coming in and turn off any lights that are on for your return.

The security deposit is fully refunded unless to cover things such as loss of keys, any cleaning beyond what would be considered reasonable, or any damage.
