A character property in the ancient sector of a small village on the Canal du Midi. Renovated to a high standard, the property provides all you need for a base for relaxing, touring the area and enjoying peace and tranquility.
A charming individual, self-contained property situated near the chateau in a village on the Canal du Midi. It is offered on a self-catering basis, although breakfast can be provided for single nights.
The recently updated property is within the historic environs of the chateau of the village. Set into the hillside, it overlooks the village and surrounding Corbieres and Minervois countryside, as far as Mont Canigou in the Pyrenees to the South.
Comfortable & well equipped, it sleeps two very comfortably, with additional chair beds available for two more guests. Air conditioning, free wifi, English freeview channels, DVD and CD player. It has a well-equipped kitchen, with high quality oven and hob, microwave, washing machine - our guests say 'you have thought of everything'.
A stunning large Mediterranean garden provides space to enjoy the fresh air and peace. It has three terraces and a good supply of outside seating and, of course, a barbecue.
The village of Argens Minervois, between Narbonne and Carcassonne, lies in the heart of this beautiful, historic region, as well as being in the largest wine producing area. 10 minutes from swimming lake and a little further for river swimming; 35 minutes from the nearest beach.
Bicycles can be hired locally and delivered to the door.
Station - 5kms - Lezignan Corbieres.
The entire property and large Mediterranean garden. Parking on drive or securely inside the garden.
This is a lovely cottage in a quiet village right on the Canal de Midi. It's a great base for people hoping to explore Carcassonne, Narbonne & the wineries of Corbieres & Minervois. The best feature is the fabulous garden. The only thing some might see as a downside is the bedroom is a loft/mezzanine set up with steep stairs and limited headroom, but we were just fine with it.
Listing accurate but didnt really convey how lovely and atmospheric the gite and village are. Great experience. Would definitely return. Impossible to meet more accommodating hosts.
We had a very nice stay at Catherine and Peter's Gite. The place is very homey and new, with a great garden where we were able to dine and have breakfast.
If you're looking for a perfectly formed gite in a typically French hilltop village, with only the church bells to wake you in the morning, a handful of restaurants for a simple evening meal, and a local epicerie to provide your morning croissants...this is it. Add to that all mod cons (Cathy and Peter have done up their gite perfectly; comfortable yet tasteful) and a terrace to die for (we counted four separate seating areas!)
Argens-Minervois is a gorgeous canal side village, within easy driving range of local historic towns, but isolated enough to allow you indulge in proper holiday escapism. Cathy and Peter are the perfect hosts; ready and willing with tips and advice, but not remotely intrusive.
Highly recommended! Thankyou so much.
This was a delightful place to stop and the house was charming.
It is fully stocked with all you will need and Peter even arrived in the morning with fresh bread and croissants.
The Gite in the village of Argens Minervois was a wonderful base for exploring the area along the Canal du midi. Our host Peter and Catherine were both professional and welcoming. The outside space was particularly beautifu and quiet.
We moved to France a few years ago, having fallen in love with the area and, in particular the village, where we had already had a holiday home for the previous seven years. Our home is just down the road from our gite.
We enjoy meeting our guests, sharing our knowledge and experience of the area - history, wine, birdwatching, routes for walking and cycling.
