We are located in the mountains with views of the ocean and the sunset and the sunrise, but we are only 8 minutes from the freeway. We are 6 minutes, driving slowly, from town.
I love the quiet of being surrounded by nature. I love the views of the ocean and the canyon and the sunset and the incredible sky. I love that we are close to town yet feel secluded. I love the colors and the sounds of animals and birds. I want to share this experience with my guests.
Parking is included.
We are 3 miles from public transportation, so we recommend a car or a taxi.
Conserve water and energy. Don’t leave water running in the tap –we are on a well and don’t want to run out of water! Our water is drinkable and delicious.
No candles or open flames inside the rooms. No fires outside. No smoking.
Please feel free to use our shared community kitchen. Food is not included in this rental.
Compost bin is located in back of the kitchen, to the left. Please use it if you have compostable waste.
Recycle can be left in the cardboard box under the kitchen sink or placed in the blue recycle bin in front of our house.
Please hold the toilet handle down long enough so it will flush completely. There is a sign about it in the bathroom.
And please, for the sake of our other renters, leave the kitchen and bathroom as clean as you found them.

We enjoyed meeting Marianna and staying at her lovely property. The view is breath taking and we recommend enjoying a meal or two on the deck.
Marianna accommodated my boyfriend and I so warmly - and on such short notice (I made a last minute New Year's Eve reservation request when another AirBnB host cancelled). She is kind, punctual, and we immediately felt welcomed into her home.
It turns out it was a blessing in disguise, as the room itself was so cozy (in-room stove) on one of the coldest nights in 2014. It has a grand, sweeping view of the canyon - and the sunset is indeed breathtaking. The land itself was so serene and quiet, yet so close to Capitola and not too far from Santa Cruz. It really feels like you're miles away from any major city - and the perfect respite, as we were seeking some R&R to welcome in 2015. The property the room sits on is expansive, and we took a walk up the road, from where you can see the ocean.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we hope to return soon!
A friend and I booked this room on very short notice. Despite that fact, Marianna, was there to welcome us and show us everything we needed for our stay. Great view of the canyon!
Great location and quaint room in Soquel. Marianna was super sweet and welcoming and made us feel right at home. I would definitely go back!
Beautiful view, friendly warm host, terrific deck, welcoming community.
Campers are right adjacent to the deck so there can be noise if there are campers also staying here.
Clean, spacious room with very earthy, spiritual vibe. Lots of blankets, desk space, hangers for clothing, door to outside. Flashlights to access the outside. Well-prepared for visit. Great experience and would highly recommend for anyone visiting the Santa Cruz area again.
Marianne and Freddy were so welcoming and wonderful hosts. It was my first Airbnb experience and it was an excellent one. The Sunset room was cozy, spacious, clean and had SUCH a beautiful view to wake up to. The balcony was a nice extra part of the experience. Its away from the world, so if you're looking for a true getaway, I highly recommend this place. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, so bring your coffee and food! OH! And the flamenco dance class on Saturday morning is so much fun!
