Marianna was incredibly welcoming and had a beautiful property! She's full of positive energy! She allowed us to do a last minute booking. We were a little disappointed because we did not realize that there were other guests camping there and did not feel like we had much space or privacy, so we felt it was a bit too pricey for that reason. We ended up heading back to the city to meet some friends for surfing in the am, and regret not being able to say good bye as it was so late! ):
Marianna's property is beautiful and the description given is perfect. We only stayed for one night and showed up rather late. Marianna came out to greet us and get us aquatinted with everything.
The full bathroom includes a shower and the kitchen has everything you need (sleep in a tent but with all the amenities of a home).
My only recommendation is find the property with a bit of daylight. The property is really tucked into the mountain.
Location/amenities: Clean, easy, beautiful, quiet and convenient.
Hosts: Friendly and accessible.
We will come again!
She was unable to be there when I arrived, but was in contact and provided detailed instructions. The property is amazing and I will definitely be back.
My night of camping on this lovely property was just what I was hoping for. I had a great stay and Marianna was very welcoming. Thank you.
Marianna warmly welcomed us onto her property. We were busy checking out the sights to see around the Santa Cruz area so we didn't have the pleasure of spending more time with her. We camped at one of the sites there and were able to use the community bathroom and kitchen. It was a great way to camp with the benefits of having a shower and full kitchen.
Our first night we had brought an air mattress and it leaked and we had to fill it up twice in the night time. The second night we asked to borrow the futon mattress and Marianna was gracious enough to let us do that. I felt bad because in the morning there was a misty rain and a lot of condensation that formed along the bottom of our tent which saturated the futon mattress. We placed it back and hope that it wasn't an issue and it would dry out in a day or two.
The only unfortunate thing about our stay on our end had nothing to do with Marianna or the facilities. There was another person camping or staying next to us. We'd been asleep for 2 hours with no sounds and I woke up and sneezed. Whoever it was didn't like that and threatened me and cursed at us. I decided it was best to stay quiet and not respond but I didn't sleep at all the rest of the night because of the adrenaline rush and worrying about protecting my family from the crazy woman sleeping next door.
I'm sure that circumstance above is rare. The first night we felt instantly connected with our host and welcomed as family. The property is beautiful, has a breathtaking view, and I would highly recommend staying with Marianna if you are looking for something in the Santa Cruz area and desire a peaceful retreat! :)
Easy to find; Michelle and Nick greeted us on arrival and showed us around. Beautiful view from the property! The campsites were not necessarily private, but it was quiet and exactly what we needed for a night. Great to have access to the kitchen and bathroom, and especially the deck. Nice alternative to crowded campsites!

We are an older but active couple who love nature and Flamenco. We care very much about the environment and expect that of our guests too.
We have beginning multi-level Flamenco dance classes on Thursdays at 6:30-8 PM and on Saturday mornings 11-12:30. Cost is $20 for a drop in class.
