Situated in a bucolic area of Brooklyn, overlooking Prospect Park this listing is for one bedroom in our spacious 3 bedroom apartment.
The Bedroom has a comfy full size bed, two windows, air-conditioning in summer, bedside table with lamp, desk and chair. Clean bed linens and towels are provided.
This 1200 square foot (102 square meters) apartment is very large by New York or really any standards. It is on the third floor of a walk-up apartment building, on the top-floor so it is very quiet and a peaceful place to come “home” to amid travels in New York City. It is a 3 bedroom, very spacious apartment. Includes a shared eat-in kitchen with coffee/tea facilities, and fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals.
Sunny shared living room and dining room, and SHARED bathroom with fresh fluffy towels available. There is a TV with premium cable (HBO, On Demand, etc) in the living room, a fully stocked book shelf, and Wi-Fi available throughout the apartment.
Park Slope is a tree-lined neighborhood full of brownstones, and anchored by lovely Prospect Park, which sits across the street from our apartment. The neighborhood is chock full of bars, restaurants, cafes, and diners. There is a move theater one block away as well as a Laundromat one block away. Bodegas / corner stores are plentiful for late night snacks and supplies.
F/G train 1 blocks away – 20 minutes to Lower Manhattan, including Lower East Side, East Village, Chinatown, Soho, West Village and Meatpacking District. Also convenient to Penn Station/Port Authority and PATH stations getting to/from Newark Airport.
2/3 and R trains each 15 minute walk
B61 bus stops on our block
JFK and LGA approximately 30 – 40 minutes by car service ($30)
Street parking is free and fairly easy to come both on Prospect Park West and the surrounding streets, subject to alternate side parking, i.e. cars need to be moved every so often.
You will be sharing the apartment with 2 of us, plus a cat! Andy and Cynthia are your hosts -- but Cynthia is traveling abroad currently -- we are welcoming and respectful thirty-somethings from Ireland and U.S. He’s an academic, I work for a non-profit Cultural Institution. Our friend Cheryl also lives with us with her cat Driggs -- Cheryl is a chef and works long hours so you likely won't ever meet her or the cat, as Driggs is shy and stays under Cheryl's bed 99% of the time.
Rates vary during long weekends and holiday season. See the calendar for pricing and availability.

Other Things to Note
We have a cat! The cat mostly stays in one room, but if you are allergic our place is not for you.
We hope that our guests will feel at home in our home. As such, please simply treat our place as you would your own.
There is no dish washer, so please clean your own dishes and in general tidy up after yourself.
Please be respectful of the neighbors -- no loud noise after 11 p.m./before 8 a.m.
In general, exercise courtesy and common sense, and enjoy your stay!
It's been a pleasure staying at Cynthia's and Andy's place. It is right next to the park and G and F train 5 min away. So easy to get to wherever you want. It's safe and just 2 blocks away are a couple of nice bars and cafes (cafe couleur). The room itself is nice and spacious. Cynthia and Andy are very welcoming and helpful with everything. So after staying a week we would definitely recommend staying there!

Cynthia and Andy are wonderful hosts! We stayed with them for a weekend when we were visiting friends. I would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a place to stay in Park Slope. They were super helpful with directions as well as recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Their apartment is lovely, in a quiet building, and conveniently located to the train, cute restaurants and cafes. As an added bonus, the park is directly across the street. We had a great visit!
It was our first air BNB experience, we stayed there 10 days and it was just perfect !! Cynthia and Andy are wonderful hosts, we felt really like at home, they were very welcoming, charming, helpful and respecful of our privacy. We enjoyed their advice and our conversations.
The appartment and the bedroom are very nice and comfortable so as on the pictures.
The location is for us the best in New York. It's just in front of Prospect Park wich is a perfect area to relax, do sport, listen to summer concerts. It's a quiet area but there are a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. The icing on the cake: the subway station is located 50 meters from the appartment and the F and G lines are direct to Manhattan.
Once again thank you very much Cynthia and Andy for everything you've done for us ! If we come back to NYC we would definitely stay there again !

I spent two nights at Cynthia and Andy's place. The room was clean and spacious with a much appreciated air conditioner on a very hot and humid weekend. Cynthia and Andy were friendly and accommodating and available to answer my questions. I would definitely recommend their apartment as an excellent place to stay. They are close to transit, wonderful shops and restaurants and beautiful Prospect Park. Cynthia and Andy's place met all my needs and requirements for a relaxing weekend in Brooklyn.

Hello! We are Cynthia and Andy – a thirty-something couple from Ireland and U.S. with a large 3 bedroom apartment on our hands. After doing an apartment swap in Paris, and trying Airbnb in Berlin, we figured we'd become hosts ourselves.
A bit about us: Andy's an academic (literature); Cynthia works for a non-profit Cultural Institution. Cynthia's lived in NYC for 12+ years in various neighborhoods, and is happy to provide you with local tips and advice on navigating the city during your stay.
We do not speak about ourselves in the 3rd person in-person.
