Not bad, in the city center, but a little bit dirtily.
We booked on a Thursday evening for a stay on Saturday and Sunday evening. We got confirmation on Friday. We received a call and later a msg that we were going to be picked up. Yuky's friend picked us up and was very helpful and took the time to answer some questions. The location is very central, close to public transport and nice area. Only down side was the noise of construction work at night.
The apartment was clean, besides some dust under the bed.
What was really a let-down was the shower. The shower head was lose and had to be held. The curtain was smelling and the water drain was clogged which almost caused a flooding. Showering could only be done for a few minutes until the tray underneath was full. The boiler also gave an alarm.
All together I would recommend the apartment if the shower is taken care of.
The apartment is perfectly located, and it is possible to walk everywhere from it (even the asian side). It is perfect for a couple or two-three friends. We were not greeted by Yuksel, as he was urgently ill, but by his friend, whom was very helpfull with both the apartment and recommending places to visit! Our only complaint is that the terrace was in so bad shape we did not wish to use it (it was covered in cat feces), and that the air condition was leaking terribly. We tried to contact Yuksel's friend about the air conditioning, but got no respons. Despite this we had a great trip, thank you!
Great place to stay for a long weekend in the city. The location is very central, and there are a lot of smart cafés in the neighbourhood. The only minus is that the toilet has a faint smell of sewage. But you quickly get accostumed to this. Yüksel is a very welcoming host who tales good care of his guests.
Perfect location, well designed apartment but with a little awkward smell in the bathdroom's curtains. Since we was in the middle of a revolution (true) Yuksel was a perfect host, supporting us in every single need. Even with a mistake (mine mistake) and a extra cost with the door keys, it was good, I recommend the place.
The person meeting us was over 1/2 hour late. But Yuksel was in contact to let us know he would be late. The apartment was very nice, bright, airy and comfortable...except for the bathroom. It smelled of sewer gas. We had to keep the exhaust fan on all of the time and it still was not enough to eliminate the smell. And the smell leaked into the bedroom a bit.
The location was wonderful. A long uphill block to Taksim square and all that the area has to offer: hundreds of restaurants, clubs, tea houses and cafes.
the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the washing machine worked well. Drying clothes was a bit of a challenge, but we figured it out. Apt is next door to a meat shop and a great veggie/fruit market and lots of small convenience stores.
Perfect location. Which was our main priority. Nice flat - just big enough for two. Yuksel is nice and a perfect host. :-)
The apartment was perfect for our stay. It is very close to Taksim Square (like everywhere in Istanbul, you need to walk up a big hill to get there), and it had everything we wanted. The apartment isn't very big, but big enough for two people. We had a great week. I would recommend this apartment.
