  • The lovely little apartment is a rare find indeed. As a professor of art history , I have rented several apartments in Rome over the years, and this one was by far the most pleasant for a number of reasons. First, the apartment itself. It is clean, comfortable, decorated with real charm and very well well-equipped with everything from generous amounts of of high-quality towels and sheets to a kitchen with lots of plates, glasses and cooking equipment. Although I am sure it is used primarily by people on short-term visits to Rome , my husband and I stayed for three months quite happily and lacked nothing we need to feel at home. It was a delight to return to at the end of the day,and we took advantage of the nearby open market (six days a week) to cook wonderful meals at night. The neighborhood is so quiet and green, with lots of leafy trees, that it was hard to believe how close we were to "happening"neighborhoods like Trastevere and , by bus, the historic center. Finally, I could write twice as much about our extraordinarily gracious and helpful hosts. Eugenia and Massimo . They took such a genuine interest in our comfort and well being, and this in spite of both of them being busy professionals, that we felt absolutely spoiled. They even assisted us with a visit to the doctor which would have been terribly difficult without their help. We will return to Rome and I sincerely hope this apartment will be available because I cannot imagine staying anywhere else .

    Response from Eugenia:

Cara Regina e caro Daniel, vi ringraziamo delle belle parole usate nei nostri confronti. Speriamo, con tutto il cuore, di rivedervi presto. Massimo e Eugenia
Dear Regina and dear Daniel, thank you beautiful words used against us. We hope, with all our heart, to see you soon.

  • If you're looking to stay for a few weeks, or a few months, I highly recommend Eugenia and Massimo's place in Monteverde. They were fantastic hosts, and the apartment is beautifully kept with all amenities. Massimo's office is nearby the apartment, so I felt very safe and secure at all times. They catered to many requests for me (e.g. Call forwarding, or additional cleaning, or mail delivery, or drycleaning), that I felt I had nice parents looking after me. They made my stay in Rome fantastic and convenient, and the apartment has every detail taken care of. They have a nice folder in the apartment with clear instructions for everything, and are available to resolve any issue immediately (e.g. I had a small problem with the washing machine, and Massimo had it fixed immediately). Being new to Rome, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and intimidated, but knowing that I could reach Eugenia or Max, I felt very secure and comfortable. They also looked after my family when they were visiting and I was at work, and they have a very nice cleaning lady who can come on the weekends, whenever you request. The apartment itself is in a very nice area on top of the hill, few mins from Gianicolo park, although there's a slight downside that it is not easily accessible by Tram or Train - its usually a 20 min walk to get there, unless you can find the bus that rarely ever comes. However, there is a Taxi station that is nearby and sends taxis almost immediately. If you want a peaceful Roman experience with access to sights, but also some local experience, then I highly recommend staying here.

  • Our stay at Eugene and Max’s apartment was perfect. My wife and I are a young quiet couple who love to travel and cook. The apartment was exactly as pictured in the quiet, non-touristy Monte Verde Veccio neighborhood. Having Eugene and Max nearby was very helpful, as they surprised us with afternoon espresso several times, helped us buy event tickets, picked us up from the train station, and helped us when we got ourselves locked out. Eugene’s husband Max speaks some English and they were happy to translate our needs over e-mail.

Being a cook, I was very happy with the kitchen, as well enjoying as the best farmer’s market and grocery down the street. Travel to the center was easy, via a short walk, and with Bus 75, Tram 8 or a Taxi stand just a few blocks away. As a bonus the bedroom had down pillows and a down comforter. The apartment was well air conditioned, quiet and very secure. We found ourselves hanging out in the neighborhood more often than heading downtown.

My wife and I work remotely online, so having two desk and an office space worked great for us. The internet speed was very fast, and I was able to use (website hidden) for client meetings. The apartment is a Garden Level apartment but gets tons of light in all rooms.

We can’t say enough good things about this apartment. We stayed for a month and could have stayed forever. We plan to come back here next time we stay in Rome!!

Great apartment to get the feeling of real Roman Life!
