About this listing
The rooms are located in a beautifull corfiot style building, one kilometre before the feasty village of Pelekas, in the olive-tree forest and very close to wonderfull beaches.
It is a peacefull, "swimming in nature" place -yet, very close to "fun and party" situation; The village of Pelekas is an oasis of cultural events (see (website hidden)) and, the beaches of Mirtiotissa, Glyfada, Kontogialos are full of bars, taverns and people.
Two rooms are offered separately or toghether, each one with twin beds and private bathrooms. A common living room with kitchen and a common yard are at your disposal.
Pets are allowed but, they may be restricted in the garden if another guest or visitor has a problem with them.
Notice: My two dogs are restricted in the garden. If a guest's dog is annoying them it may be restricted too.
Smoking is allowed in the balkony and yard.
Pelekas is the village that has something for everyone. Whether you are looking for sandy beaches and tavernas fringed by timeless olive groves; water-sports and nightlife; traditional food and drink; budget or top class accommodation; you will always find a warm welcome in Pelekas.
Grazie Theodor
Had a week here, the first week of a fortnights stay on Corfu.
Communication was good, and Theo (Desfa) picked us up from the airport.
When we arrived we were delighted, the room backed onto a balcony that overlooked the sloping gardens. Pelikas sits on a hill, a mile or so from the beaches, and felt much less touristy than many places on the island. There are basic cooking facilities that work just fine, likewise the showering/sleeping arrangements.
It is a short uphill walk into the village, where most things can be obtained, and there are some really good bars (like Jimmys!).Theo is an accomplished musician, and invited us to a couple of gigs in the village, the second of which seemed to involve a couple of hundred locals. We felt very lucky to have been there on that night and appreciated the invite. Theos mum runs an interesting museum of local costume on the floor above the flat, and is very informative.
Theo put us in touch with the local scooter rental firm. We are very glad we did this, as in mid July, it got too hot to walk any distance for us north europeans...cost was 18E per day.
So thanks theo, had a really good time, if theres one consideration I would suggest to others, it would be to check the temperature when you intend coming.... we had planned a walking holiday, but it was a bit too hot for strenuous activities. The swimming was good however! Loved the place.
Great place to stay in walking distance to Pelekas village. We enjoyed having breakfast in the wonderful garden. Rooms all having balcony towards the garden and kitchen are well maintained and clean.
Desfa and his family are very courteus and helpful. Thanks again for the lift to the petrol station when our bike ran out of fuel and the guided tour through the museum upstairs.
We are so happy we have chosen this place at Corfu close to Pelekas town!!! This place is a real paradise... Beautiful big garden full with flowers and lemontrees and orangetrees an big cactustrees and birds flying and diving around... The room was good enough for us. Basic, aswell as the bathroom, but enough for us. Nice big kitchen and livingroom. The stove is not suitable for real cooking... so we only used the stove for heating water and to cook we used mostly the oven... Inside the house can be cold sometimes... Theodore (Desfa) is very kind and helpfull, on our fist day he took us to several places and showed us around... We could reccomend everybody to stay at this true paradise. You need to rent a scooter though because the first town close to the house is about 15min. walk...Theodore already has the perfect adress for renting one... Renting a car would be possible too but a bit more difficult (ore sometimes impossible) driving in the mountains on the bad roads... Thank you so much Theodore and mum!
Desfa’s place is perfect for people who want to really relax on their vacation. It is located 1 km before cute Pelekas village with famous Kaiser’s throne. However, you need to have a car or a scooter to be able to explore beaches in the area, even the Pelekas beach. Pelekas is perfectly located for exploring both north and south of the island as well as Corfu town which is just 30 minutes away by car. Desfa and his mother Lula are really nice and welcoming hosts. Desfa was very helpful and attentive. He drove us from and to the airport and gave us some good tips. Also, he helped us rent a quad bike in the village. Lula honored us as guests to her museum of folkloric items – her personal collection of many interesting things such as clothing and jewelry in the very house.
Our room was simple and clean with a rather small bathroom but with an access to a wonderful balcony looking at beautiful “jungly” garden. It’s quite and fresh here but to enjoy sitting at the balcony to the fullest you need to bring something to beat mosquitoes. Also, we could use a shared kitchen, fairly equipped. We highly recommend this place and we plan to go back next year.
It's located in the middle of Corfu and therefore a good basis to explore the (website hidden), if you want to be away from busy beach and close enough to a small village, you have to be at Desfa's place.
And not least....Desfa is a wonderful, helpful and nice man!!!!!!!!
