Mai is a fantastic host and helped me out with my stay, showed me local places to go and how to get there. The people in the house were also extremely friendly.
Would definitely recommend staying here as its safe, cheap and friendly.
Great stay with Mai. The place was very quiet and clean. She provides all the laundry detergent which was a nice touch!
Wonderful hosts and clean tidy spaces.
I booked a total of three rooms and had different lengths of stay for every room and Mai was able to accomodate. From the outside, the house looked quite small but surprisingly had ten bedrooms. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that is travelling in a group. Upper and Main floors are separated from the Basement to avoid overcrowding. There are multiple bathrooms and a kitchen for each area. The only issue was that noise travelled through the house but that was expected. Everything was very clean and the furnishing was very modern and new. Mai is very organized and this is emphasized in that she separated storage areas in the kitchens. A general rule of the house is that you have to be respectful of common areas so if you can't clean up after yourself, you are better off staying at a hotel. Public transportation is not too far away and street parking is available if you are driving. Some of us bused to the nearest Skytrain station and took the Skytrain to the airport. One of my friends locked himself out and she was able to quickly meet up with him to unlock his room. The area itself seemed safe but we often saw random people walking around going through garbage and recyables but we never had any issues with them. Overall, it was a great stay!
My first trip to Vancouver, BC and first time staying at BNB for Lululemon SeaWheeze Half-Marathon. Overall exp: I would have rate it 5 stars but unfortunately there were fruit flies surrounded the night table (possibly leftover fruit/food - I did not dare to discover!) in 'Mai Lodging - Single 1' on Beatrice Street. Looking back, I should have contact Mai to resolve this but I had a tight sched so sanitizing the room was all I could do. I did not have the opportunity to meet w/Mai upon check-in (sched-wise) but was instructed via phone that someone (BNB room-mate) would be avail to let me in & show me around. I actually enjoyed my stay at the house with all the amenities! I read Kelan's review and took his advice as well. Translink (Bus) #19 is a frequent service & will take you downtown/Stanley Park. Please note: fare accepts coins only and I suggest you purchase a Day Pass at the big supermarket (eg Safeway) for $9 - will save you money/time! My favorite places to eat: Tipper's (dark beer + food + great customer service) in the neighborhood, Hime Sushi on Kingsway/Broadway (BIG portions, fresh sashimi, SO yummy!) and JJ Bean Coffee Roasters & Tim Hortons (def a must!) You can't beat Mai's Lodging's price in Vancouver - it's super expensive! I definitely plan on staying here again on future travels :)
