Comfy & Quiet stay in Greenpoint!

Apartment - Private room · Green St, Brooklyn, NY 11222, United States

The Space

A pre-welcome to NYC from Greenpoint –one of the safest, quietest, quaintest, prettiest and most convenient neighborhoods the city has to offer. Five blocks away you have the East River Ferry, which for four dollars will shuttle you directly to Midtown (as well as Williamsburg, Dumbo and Governor’s Island). Three blocks away there’s the G train (three stops to 53rd and Lexington, one stop to Williamsburg –Brooklyn’s cultural/fashionable hub; by foot, a fifteen minute walk away). Greenpoint is also NYC’s film and TV locus. There’s always a movie or series being shot (the Boardwalk Empire set is just six blocks up at the end of Manhattan Avenue).

Your potential room is clean, quiet, private and sunny. It’s furnished with a freestanding clothes rack and closet, clean sheets and towels, a firm high-quality queen-sized bed. Your window looks out onto the back courtyard. The nights are extremely quiet. Our apartment is Box as opposed to Railroad, which means each room is well-delineated/not connected in tandem. We’ve also just recently remodeled the entire place: new paint jobs, furniture, floors, stove, etc. The spacious commons is equipped with an excellent sound system and TV/DVD player. The kitchen is spotless and equipped with all cooking essentials. Bathroom, spotless. We have WiFi.

The living room is provided for our guests to hang out or eat in. Preferably no eating in the bedrooms. You can also leave extra luggage in the living room.

We (Maria and myself, Joe) are married. We are quiet and courteous and NYC-busy so not often at home. We are looking for quiet, clean and respectful guests. We’re always excited to meet new people and would be glad to point you in the right direction as far as restaurants, venues, clubs, neighborhoods, etc. goes. If our place sounds/looks right to you, let us know!

  • We spent just few days in New York so we decided to stay at Maria and Joe's as the room looked pretty and convenient. So it was :) Our room was intimate and very comfortable in a lovely and really clean house. The house is set in the Brooklyn scenario. Shops and Greenpoint subway just around the corner, East River Ferry (highly recommended) very close by: just the perfect spot, we felt we could handle the city from their location even if it was our very first time in NY. Maria and Joe are great hosts: lovely and caring people, with attention to details (like leaving in the room maps with places to visit, on the fridge restaurants they would suggest...). Even though we did not spend much time at home we enjoyed the quick talks we had on our way back after visiting the city: they are very interesting and good people you can have chats with. Thank you guys you were super lovely.

  • I stayed here with my girlfriend for height nights. We had a very nice stay, everything was fine : the apartment is clean and comfortable, the neighbourhood is great and you can reach the whole city quickly, above all Maria and Joe are very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend them!

  • Maria and Joe hosted the two of us at their cozy and calm place for 10 days so that we could spend a really wonderful time there for academic work + travel. They were both very friendly and helpful with all kinds of tips & tricks regarding our time in the city. The appartment was clean and perfectly equipped; we had all the comfort and space we needed.

The neigbourhood is great and the flat is close to a metro station which takes you to Manhatten quickly, and is within walking distance of the Williamsburg area (with many cafés, bars and restaurants).

In sum, a wonderful place to stay in New York.

  • I stayed here with my girlfriend for a weekend. Although we didn't get to spend much time with Maria and Joe, everything went very smoothly and it was a nice and cozy place. I would only advice that the room is a bit smaller than what the picture suggests but that may just be due to the angle. Other than that, its a safe neighborhood and we had a nice stay. I would do it over again if I had to.

We are a married couple. Of our many passions top on the list are travel, literature, film and language. Maria speaks five languages and has lived all over the world. I (Joe) am a student and an author. One of our favorite things about NYC (besides our wonderful neighborhood) is its cultural diversity. We are highly respectful, clean, quiet and busy people who love to meet, chat with and learn from others. It's our goal to make your stay in NYC as pleasant as possible.
