We are Sem and Pieter. Two university buddies from Amsterdam, who are setting up a new style hotel. We like to enjoy life and meet people, but most of all we love to see the world. On the many journeys we took together we started to feel that the hotels we visited somehow did not completely fulfill our needs....
Therefore we came up with CityHub. CityHub represents a new generation of travellers that emerged from today’s interactive and interdependent world. At CityHub, these travellers stay in cool sleeping units called 'Hubs'. Each Hub offers you a large comfy two persons bed, an Ipod docking station, free WiFi and multi-color mood lighting. All other facilities such as toilets and showers are shared with your fellow travellers. But no worries, they are spic and span at all times!
At CityHub you enjoy, interact and share experiences through a smart online platform. An interactive wall in the social room shows you what’s going on in the city and what CityHub’s community is talking about. Instead of us, YOU are the one that creates CityHub’s unique vibe. Jointly we create a base from which to explore the beautiful cities of the world.
CityHub BETA is our first pilot location with four Hubs that we have set up in our beautiful apartment in the heart of Amsterdam. CityHub BETA offers you all that CityHub stands for. It has a social room where you can get yourself some food, drinks and snacks. Here you can also share your experiences through CityHub’s interactive wall and meet with fellow travellers.
You can now be one of the first to spend a night in a HUB! CityHub BETA provides the perfect base from which you can explore Amsterdam. It is situated in the heart of Amsterdam within 5 minutes walking from famous area of het Leidseplein, the museum district and Amsterdam's most beautiful park. Also many of the cultural highlights of the city are just around the corner. In total CityHub Beta has four private Hubs.
We invite you to be one of the first to stay at CityHub and share your findings with us!!!
We hope to welcome you soon at CityHub Beta…

Un sitio con encanto cerca del centro y muy tranquilo.
CityHub suites almost any traveller — those who stay for a week and those, like me, who stayed only for one night.
Bathroom works well and it’s comfortable, all common spaces and kitchen are enough big and tidy, the hosts are kind and the hub itself is also a very pleasant place to spend the night — aseptic, comfortable and mostly alluring because the light spectrum that suits any couple dreams!
Even though I had a very short experience at Pieter and Sem’s CityHub, I do recommend it and I will return for another stay.
Expérience insolite dans le hub ! Lit confortable, parties communes très propres. Proche du centre et des commodités.
A refaire !
Everything we wanted and more, thanks Sem! Clean, friendly and walking distance to everything. Start one of these in the States. Good luck and thanks for the hospitality (including helping track down a lost phone).
I had a ton of fun at City Hub. It became an attraction in and of itself as it was my fist time visiting Amsterdam and experiencing such an innovative new way of lodging. Sem was extremely hospitable, attentive and was very knowledgable of the areas surrounding the Hub. I hope to see a City Hub over in the US some time soon.
Merci à Sem pour son acceuil très sympathique ;-)
Le hub était très confortable , nous avons passé un agréable séjours , leurs concepteur est original et très satisfaisant .
City hub is great, five star recommendation! Veeeery comfortable, nice sound and light systems. Location is great, very close to vondelpark and leidsplein. Sem and Peter are great guys, gave us lots of info about Amsterdam. Great stay!
I really enjoyed my stay at the CityHub. The bed was very comfortable and larger than one would have expected from the pictures. The coloured led lighting was a funny gimmick. Peter and Sem are great hosts, very kind and down-to-earth. The location of the CityHub is great and many sightseeing attractions are within walking distance. A great innovative concept which I can recommend.
A good mix between the hostel feel but still having the privacy of your own space. I really enjoyed the cityhub concept and would recommend it to everyone who doesnt mind the small space. I have to admit that the capsule you are in gets a bit crowded with a lot of luggage laying around but I didn't go on vacation to stay in a hotel. If you care more about exploring Amsterdam rather than exploring a hotel, this is the place for you.
It is within walking distance to the main city area where you will be doing most of your sightseeing (about half a mile) and the tram stop is 3 minutes away so you always have that option. Very progressive concept and I hope they are successful when they expand to a larger facility.
Sem was a very down to earth guy who was always around to chat.
One word of caution however if you have some physical limitations that prevent you from easily climbing the steps into the top beds, I suggest you request a room with a bed on the lower level.
What I liked about this place was there were people in the hangout area that you could go meet but when you are too tired to socialize you can retire to the privacy of your capsule.
Restrooms are shared though but even they are designed to give privacy. Showers have a little section you can place your clothes in and get dressed so you aren't walking around naked or in a towel for others to see you
Super friendly guys running a great hotel/hostel. Glad we could try it out! Such a better alternative to a hostel, and much less expensive. Would totally recommend!
