Great loft in the heart of SoHo, on a quaint bustling street. Loft has a massive living space with dining area makes for a great place to chill. Also has a theatre/rehearsal space within the loft with live shows to entertain, so great for the artist. Big bedroom with double bed, large window and closet offer a comfortable and private place to sleep and light breakfast goods are in fridge for you to help yourself to. Also juice bar for the healthier travellers, (great fruit and veg stall around the block).
Building is super safe and each room is lockable so total privacy for my guests.
Bathroom is shared.
Elevator opens into space, however operates at unusual hours, closed at nights and sundays. Apt is close to all subway lines and is situated in the heart of Downtown Manhattan close to China town, Little Italy, L.E.S, and East Village. Lots of great shops, bars, clubs and everything NYC has to offer. Close to broadway which has lots of great shopping and boutiques so perfect for the shopaholic.
I have a small hypoallergenic dog called buster. Super friendly and very rarely leaves my bedroom :)
I had a wonderful time at Charlottes place. The room I had - the one in the very end - was truly an amazing and cozy one... Due to the warm weather - there was no need to use the heater in the room... The bathroom wasn't big, but it offered a big shower cabin. That's probably the reason for the waiting time in the morning, because all guests enjoyed having a shower...
The whole loft is a typical New York loft and truly an experience. You want make a real NY experience, go to SoHo, TriBeCa or East Village... I can recommend the last room and the loft for openminded people and some which don't care about a performance of some young artists in the living room... :))
The room was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Charlotte was a very gracious and helpful host and the room was reasonably priced.
We just saw Charlotte once. She's very friendly and it was easy to communicate with her.
She hosted other guests at the same time, but we didn't even notice them. Her loft is a great place to stay. The location couldn't be better!
Another airbnb cancelled us last hour and we had to reach Charlotte just the previous night of our arrival. Fast response! The place is just awesome and we were lucky enough to have witnessed one of the comedy nights at her place. I'd totally recommend this one as my first and awesome airbnb experience :)
When you are considering this b&b you should be aware that it is an special and atypical b&b. You can say it has a very relaxed atmosphere, but it is also noisy when there are performances, and everybody is walking in and out. Sometimes until late. The place and the room are a bit of a mess, actually. Not very clean also. The situation is best described as "camping in a downtown appartement".
The location is definitely great, near all Soho shops, bars en restaurants. This is the big plus of this b&b.
Charlotte is a nice person, but it was difficult to contact her. She doesn't reply to emails and sms; she did this only a couple hours before our arrival.
had a great time
The loft in SoHo was just perfect for our stay in NYC. It is close to the subway and SoHo is great for going out and having fun.
The room was very nice and clean and the bathroom was also ok.
As we stayed there over Christmas there were not many events in the loft but al the people we met were very friendly and nice.
Charlotte wasn't there most of the time but she was very helpful when we needed her :)
I can definately recommend the loft to everyone who wants to have a great time in NYC!
This is an every-man-for-himself hostel and a well-booked event space moreso than a kept bed & breakfast, but if that's what you're looking to book, you're golden! As the comedy show in the one open-plan common living space was cancelled, I was able to host friends for dinner, which was my reason for renting as a staycationer, so that was lovely, and I'm grateful for it! We'd like to plan a show with Charlotte using the stage and many folding chairs she has set up, as that is really what this place is best suited for. Again, thanks for the smooth evening!
The loft is packed with stuff and definitely not spotless but the atmosphere is laid back and creative. If you are used to elegance this is not the place to stay but if you are cool with artistic bohemian style then you will enjoy your stay. There is a bar across the street that thumps bass till 2:30am. Apparently that's on the weekdays only. On weekends it's till 4am. Other than that it's a decent stay and a low price for NYC.
We spent 3 days in the loft and we loved it! Well situated, spacious, clean and Charlotte is an amazing host! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back. Thank you
