Great loft in the heart of SoHo, on a quaint bustling street. Loft has a massive living space with dining area makes for a great place to chill. Also has a theatre/rehearsal space within the loft with live shows to entertain, so great for the artist. Big bedroom with double bed, large window and closet offer a comfortable and private place to sleep and light breakfast goods are in fridge for you to help yourself to. Also juice bar for the healthier travellers, (great fruit and veg stall around the block).
Building is super safe and each room is lockable so total privacy for my guests.
Bathroom is shared.
Elevator opens into space, however operates at unusual hours, closed at nights and sundays. Apt is close to all subway lines and is situated in the heart of Downtown Manhattan close to China town, Little Italy, L.E.S, and East Village. Lots of great shops, bars, clubs and everything NYC has to offer. Close to broadway which has lots of great shopping and boutiques so perfect for the shopaholic.
I have a small hypoallergenic dog called buster. Super friendly and very rarely leaves my bedroom :)
I only met Charlotte briefly a few times, she was at work when I arrived but I was able to get the keys nearby and locate the entrance after some (website hidden) maps confusion. The room was cute, a little warm but there was a small fan on and I didn't mind the commotion in the living room. She has live shows there often and I really enjoyed it when I sat and watched for a little. Laughter does wonders (Improv Group). Anyway, I ended up booking the room an extra night instead of staying with a friend. If you're easy-going and need a cozy shabby chic place for a few nights I highly recommend it. It felt like a real New York living experience.
The location of Charlotte's loft is great. Soho is such a great place to have a quick bite and check small boutiques, have a sunday brunch and it is just around the corner from the subway station to go uptown. A great location to stay and explore the best part of Manhattan.
I loved my room and Charlotte's apartment: a few guests were accommodated there during my staying, everybody was friendly and quiet.
Will definitely suggest to book there if you look for a great place in the heart of Manhattan.
Grosse arnaque!!
I had a wonderful time at Charlottes place. The room I had - the one in the very end - was truly an amazing and cozy one... Due to the warm weather - there was no need to use the heater in the room... The bathroom wasn't big, but it offered a big shower cabin. That's probably the reason for the waiting time in the morning, because all guests enjoyed having a shower...
The whole loft is a typical New York loft and truly an experience. You want make a real NY experience, go to SoHo, TriBeCa or East Village... I can recommend the last room and the loft for openminded people and some which don't care about a performance of some young artists in the living room... :))
We had a really bad experience at this place. At 4am a guy came to the door of our room and tried to open it. Luckily we had locked the door before going to bed. It appeared that he was with Charlotte (our guest). He yelled at her for her to open the door of our room, saying "I don't have time for fucking acting, open the door now!". This was really scary. After that the two of them kept yelling at each other for 2 hours in her room, which was right next to ours. It was very violent, at some point we though he would kill her dog. I almost called the police but didn't know how to let them in. The guy finally left the apartment and we were relieved, but Charlotte buzzed him in again and it started over for about 30 min (it was 6am at this point). We had a terrible night. When I asked for explanations later on, Charlotte said she wasn't aware of anything wrong that night. She said she was sorry though, and that the guy was her brother. I don't recommend this place obviously.
The room was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Charlotte was a very gracious and helpful host and the room was reasonably priced.
We just saw Charlotte once. She's very friendly and it was easy to communicate with her.
She hosted other guests at the same time, but we didn't even notice them. Her loft is a great place to stay. The location couldn't be better!
Another airbnb cancelled us last hour and we had to reach Charlotte just the previous night of our arrival. Fast response! The place is just awesome and we were lucky enough to have witnessed one of the comedy nights at her place. I'd totally recommend this one as my first and awesome airbnb experience :)
