Our apartment has one of the nicest views on Lago di Bolsena – on the grand balcony you can relax, sunbathe, eat or do yoga. You see the huge lake, which is different every day. In the night you can see a myriad of stars, and the lights of the villages surrounding the lake are blinking in the dark. In august you can count the falling stars. And swimming in the clear lake is just wonderful.
The flat is perfect for two persons (plus child), but it is ok for up to four people. There is a sleeping room with a double bed (1,80 x 2,00 m) with two windows looking on the lake. In a small store room there is plenty of bathing equipment and toys for kids and a single mattress (0,90 x 2,00), too.
In the living room with kitchen you will find a sleeping couch (1,40 x 2,00), a very small TV and a fully equipped kitchen as well as a lot of novels, travel literature and cooking books (mostly in German, alas). The bathroom has a small shower and a washing machine. Towels and sheets are available.
Bolsena is a very nice medieval place with an old town and a castle. You can have coffee and aperetivo in a lot of nice bars and eat delicious food in the restaurants. Going to the sea takes about one hour.
From S.Antonio there is plenty of places to visit like Orvieto on its hill, Siena, or Rome by train (one hour from Orvieto). There are lots of little villages like Civita di Bagnoreggio, Caprarola (Palazzo Farnese) or Montefiascone. It’s a nice pastime to follow the traces of the old Etruscans. Near the sea there is the beautiful Tarot Garden of Niki de Saint Phalle.
An English speaking neighbor will welcome you and help with questions or problems.
Very important to know: In the Basement and first Floor lives an Italian family and sometimes it is pretty lively and loud.
You definitely need a car: Bolsena is six kilometers away, Montefiascone eight. There is no shop in S. Antonio and you can’t go directly to the lake.
With toddlers and very small children (less than 3) the flat might be unsuitable because of the spaces of the balcony balustrade.
We enjoyed our 4 days in lago de Bolsena. Daniela's apartment is really pleasant, clean and comfortable (we were 3 adults), with a wonderful view from the terrace. The cosy atmosphere makes you feel at home as soon as you enter. It's a perfect place to enjoy the nature and old villages around. We loved our ballad by bike around the lake, making some pauses to go swimming.. Daniela was very reactive to answer our questions and simplify our arrival.
Thanks a lot Daniela, for the simplicity with which you accommodate people!
Lovely, lovely, lovely!!!! The appartment and especially the view are perfect! My girlfriend and I spent a charming journey at Daniela's flat, enjoying the huge terrasse and this well furnished appartment! Bolsena, only 2 km away from the flat is really sympathic and typical. Daniela was a great host, doing her best to make our trip perfect! Defintely recommand it!
Amazing and unique view over the lake on the great terracce. Just the perfect place to be to enjoy a glass of prosecco at sunset. Charming and cosy flat, friendly neigbours, efficient feedback from the owner whenver help is requested. Just 5 mn driving from the lake and the beautiful city of Bolsena. A week in paradise, thanks Daniela !
