  • Nalin was really an excellent host. He was so prompt in all our communications and arranged for a driver to pick us up from the train station and drop us off at the airport. Since he's a local and set up everything, we avoided getting ripped off. It was such a relief to have those logistics taken care of! Plus, to our surprise, we were offered breakfast downstairs in the cute little cafe. Nalin really takes care of his guests and I can't say enough about how positive this airbnb experience was.

The apartment itself is cozy with some charming features (as you can see from the photos). The kitchen is basic and we only used it for making the delicious tea which was provided--I couldn't imagine cooking in a place where delicious prepared food is cheap and plentiful!! The bed was comfortable. The internet is reliable and easy to use. And, of course, the view is a real show-stopper.

We slept with the windows open and were treated to all kinds of bird songs in the morning! And it's so quiet, you feel like you're far from the city--but you're a fifteen second walk from bars, boutiques, restaurants and galleries in a really happening neighborhood. It's super cool with lots of trendy young people. And there's also a fantastic park where locals of all walks of life enjoy the outdoors and watch the sunset over the lake. Plus Haus Khaz village is very pedestrian friendly. Locals told us we were in the city's best neighborhood. And the more we saw of Delhi, my traveling partner and were inclined to agree.

And for those interested in sightseeing in Delhi, it's a short and cheap tuk-tuk ride to the nearby metro station. From there you can get around really quickly (and, again, cheaply!) and avoid all the horrendous traffic jams!

In short, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to tourists who are curious and enjoy discovering local life.

  • If there ever was a divine contact for a first-time India visitor, God made Nalin. I booked my four-night stay two months in advance, and not only did Nalin respond thoroughly and promptly to my never-ending list of travel questions, but he coupled his wisdom with additional resources: arranging a 2AM airport pickup, hopping in a rickshaw and taking me to the nearest ATM, and setting up trustworthy drivers for my journey north. I could go on.

In terms of my stay, his apartment is in one of the most friendly and exciting of spots in all of Delhi. The apartment itself has everything a traveller needs and some. It's clean and spacious with a brilliant Indian view. This goes without mentioning Maison des Desserts, the pastry and coffee joint on the lower level. The only downside there is too many desserts, too little time (try the banoffee pie). If only we had one in the States.

Nalin goes above and beyond what I consider an AirBnb host's duties. On my first morning, he met me for coffee and conversation. Being my first ever AirBnb experience, I'm afraid to say that Nalin has set the bar at an unreachable height for future stays. I'm incredibly grateful, thrilled, and blessed to have met him. I signed up for a bed, and left with a friend.

I look forward to seeing him again soon.

    Namaste.

  • my wife and I have just returned from a 3 week trip to India starting with 3 days in Nalin's apt. It was a perfect start to the holiday. Nalin met us on arrival and showed us around the apt before planning a days sightseeing with us. The apt is in a fantastic location and the view from our 3rd floor is just what you see in the photograph. Lots of restaurants, shops and a couple of ATM's all within walking distance and for a couple of ageing Western Europeans it felt very safe walking around without the usual hassle and begging that goes on in other parts of Delhi. The large bed was very comfortable and the A/C units did there job. We did not use the small kitchen as it was so cheap to eat out. Breakfast is provided in the café directly below the apartment which was excellent and provided a range of European or Indian food, good coffee too. Nalin was the perfect host and I would not hesitate in recommending his apartment to family or friends. Thank you Nalin. Bill and Stephanie Shaw March 2014

  • Nalin couldn't have been more helpful or hospitable. He is a great communicator, well educated and personable. The apartments that he owns, has had refurbished from scratch and runs purely on airbnb are exactly where you would want to stay for a few nights in Delhi.

The room was beautifully furnished, not 100% faultless...a little bit shabby chic but totally charming with a great balcony to view the heritage site beneath.

His apartments are in a very safe and interesting neighbourhood with lots of good eateries as well as some DELICIOUS street food nearby. Find the Kathi Roll stall down the nearest side street and order and egg and vegetable roll! I could not get enough of them!

Nalin owns the coffee shop beneath the apartments which serves great coffee and the most delicious home made cakes as well as other modern European treats such as afternoon tea. We particularly recommend the flourless chocolate and orange cake!

Thanks Nalin for a memorable stay both for our first and last night in Delhi and for organising such a great driver for us.

  • Trust all the reviews here. I agree with every one of them!

The pictures are very accurate -- the apartment is very handsome, comfortable and amazingly clean. The sheets smelled like clean linen every day!! I am a clean freak and I can detect questionable smells and hidden dust bunnies from across the room -- you will be happy to know none exist here!

There's a really cute cafe on floor 1 of the building where you can have breakfast (included with your stay). They have great coffee drinks and yummy food! I recommend the ham & cheese crepe. Drooling just thinking about it.

Nalin is a very very nice guy! He gave us a working cell phone so we can reach him for help whenever we needed. Since we only had 3 days in Delhi, he recommended we hire a driver to take us around. This was the smartest decision we made since Delhi isn't what we are used to in the comfortable neighborhoods of New York City. He introduced us to the best driver/our guardian angel Arun ((website hidden)) who made our trip hassle free and comfortable for a very good price. Highly recommended!

After Delhi, we stayed in hotels in Mumbai and Goa and we missed this place SOOO much for the comfort, super fast wifi, and the overall warm homey atmosphere you miss when you're traveling abroad.

Nalin, thank you so much for everything!! We had an amazing experience in Delhi and we have you to thank! :) We will be back!!

  • Nalin was an incredible host and the place was beautiful. He took amazingly good care of us and made our time in New Delhi wonderful. Hauz Khas Village was the perfect place to stay. I will be recommending this place to anyone I know going to India.

  • I can vouch for the fact that everything you've read in other people's reviews is true - the apartments are exactly as described and Hauz Khas village (email hidden) to stay. I also want to point out that staying "Chez Nalin" involves experiencing his mini-team of resident caretakers (on duty 24/7), a cleaning team, a friendly cafe downstairs, and local drivers for airport runs and more if required (Nalin kindly arranged emergency errands for us - we were really spoilt...) And if you're really lucky you'll have cool neighbours too - Nalin has 3 units in the same block. This place comes highly recommended for complete hassle-free tourism. Thanks Nalin, you've set new hosting standards for others to follow.

  • Nalin is one of the best hosts in the world - he is a true gem of the Airbnb community. He's thoughtful, kind, and treats you as if you were family. I had the perfect stay!

Hauz Khas village is the coolest neighborhood in Delhi. There are many great boutiques, restaurants, and bars all in walking distance. The neighborhood feels like the East Village in New York City.

The apartment is wonderfully kept and has a gorgeous view of a park & historic landmark. On the ground floor there is a tasty cafe to grab breakfast and coffee. Nalin's apartment is by far the best place to stay in all of Delhi! We'll be back. :)
