  • Firstly, Natalia is a pleasure to deal with, very accommodating and helpful!

We had a great stay at Natalia's house in Vernazza. We were there off season so it was comparatively quiet in Cinque Terra, but that's what we were looking for. Natalia's place is a free standing, completely private apartment with a small entrance first floor sitting area, a large second floor and a full rooftop patio. It is right on the river which flows down out of the hills, but was spared most of the devastation of the flooding and landslides two years ago. There were plenty of clean towels and sheets, the kitchen was totally functional and with all the window open you could hear the river, the ocean and the sounds of the town for a total immersion in the world around you.

These are not 5 star accommodations, and possibly due to the construction happening as the people of Vernazza continue to rebuild their town, the apartment wouldn't pass any white glove test for dust and dirt, but after we did a little cleaning of our own upon arrival, it suited us just fine.

If you don't demand immaculate perfection and you are looking for your own private kingdom in this amazing little part of the world though, I think I'd have to give this place a strong recommendation. It is also about 150m above the train station and therefore JUST far enough away from all the hustle and bustle of the town for quiet while still being a 2 minute walk away from everything.

  • The place was great. It had everything we need plus a great terrace. Vernazza was a great home base for exploring around Cinque Terre. The house was very close to the train station and had no stairs to climb to get to it (other than the stair coming down from the train platform). That's key as Cinque Terre are towns full of stairs and that's tough with luggage.

Natalia met us at the train station and show us around the house. She was very nice and friendly.

  • Natalia met us at the train station. We carried our bags down the stairs from the train station, and up the cobble stone road to her home, a 10 minute journey. La nave is on "Main Street" so you have full access to downtown, the dock, restaurants and shopping. Just five minutes up the street from her home you will find a banking machine, laundromat and a great little basic cafe with a pirate standing out front. The sign in the restaurant says "don't ask for eggs, you are in Italy and we don't serve eggs." We laughed, and the owner is a very humorous character. It has free wifi with a password, just ask. The place Is busy most of the time and the prices are reasonable.
Natalia's home is comfortable, a short set of stairs to the main floor, a comfortable sofa-bed where you can hear the sound of the little creek, a main bedroom with a double bed, very comfortable for two couples-it's Italy, and the house is several hundred years old. It has two bathrooms a tub and shower. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and the living room is comfortable for conversation in the evening. We climbed the ladder to the terrazzo but the weather was wet most days so we only sat there one evening. There are no breakfast ingredients, but we were not expecting any. It's a rare location with level entry from the street, unlike 99% of the accommodations in Vernazza which have steep long stairs to them. The bed sheets and towels were clean and fresh. Natalia is a kind and gentle host, she and her partner live further up the hill from here, and they use this as their winter residence. It was so easy to stroll down Main Street to the many shops and restaurants. Be sure to explore the shoreline of Cinque Terra by boat one day. You exit the train In a tunnel so be prepared for a crowd waiting to get on.

  • Nice little house. Compact but comfortable for the three nights we stayed in Vernazza (there were four of us). Well positioned, close to the railway station for arrival and departure, and the wonderful Il Parata for breakfast and/or dinner! The washing machine came in useful and we were able to dry the clothes on the roof terrace, but otherwise there is a Laundromat with tumble driers less than 100m away.
Natalia met us at the railway station on our arrival and she and her husband Peter were very helpful hosts.

  • Lovely apartment, great location. Natalie was very responsive to all my inquires and an absolute delight when we met her at the train station. There were four adults in our party and we had ample space. The terrace is very large and a lovely space to sit with a glass of wine. Great restaurants in the square (a very short walk) and we liked the location of Vernazza for a starting point for hiking the trail. We went north one day and south (the easier route) the next. Would definetly stay here again!

  • Finally back from our five week tour of Europe. We enjoyed our four-day stay at La Nave Sept 22-26. Natalia met us at the train station, showed us our apartment and said she would be there for any problems. There were none. She was delightful and very helpful. La Nave was very comfortable, We especially enjoyed the large, private terrace on top of La Nave. The stream/river running behind it was very soothing at night while we slept. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to our friends.

  • My husband and I had an excellent time at Natalia's place! They met us at the train station, helped with our bags, and walked us to the apartment. It was absolutely beautiful there. The place was clean and she even had clean towels ready for us. There is no air-conditioner, but there are many windows that allow the cool breeze to come in, so it stayed very cool inside. The rooftop terrace was just great! My husband and I spent hours up there admiring the beautiful scenery. She also has a washing machine which was very nice, since we were traveling to several cities and needed clean clothes! Her place is located close to the train station and to several awesome restaurants. We have no complaints and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice relaxing trip!

  • Our party of five had a fantastic stay at Natalia's. The best thing about this place is the location, which is 1 minute from Vernazza train station and right in the centre of the town. Vernazza is the nicest town to stay on the Cinque Terre with a very relaxed atmosphere.

The house accomodated five people comfortably and has a quirky "nautical" theme. The house feels like you are staying on a house boat.

Natalia was easy to communicate with.

It's not five star accommodation, but if you're not fussy, the location makes up for any misgivings the house might have.
