Beautiful home with a great view; however, it is not too close to where mostly everything is happening, which is in Habana Vieja, but its not too far either. Room is nice, loft style, and the AC works great! The staff was very helpful.

I had a wonderful stay in La Habana. This place is located in Centro Habana - great if you are looking to integrate with the locals which was the experience I was looking for. Walking distance to Old Havana where all the tourists are. You can actually see Malecón from the balcony! Hosts were so very friendly - Cubans in general was warm and welcoming but Yosniel was awesome. We had language barrier but we were able to communicate and was great help in learning about cuban ways, what to do in Havana, etc. If you're used to having lot of street lamps, you won't find that in Cuba - but it's very safe in Cuba. There are families hanging out in the streets after dark, just chatting it up with their neighbors. I already miss La Habana!

Rosa and her family were lovely, always available to help us with anything we needed. Rosa has setup a family business where her nephew runs it by day (Yosniel I believe - he's wonderful) and a cook/cleaner (Ernesto or Rolando) are on hand for everyday necessities. We rented the room behind the kitchen and while it was compact, it was clean and it came with a wonderful support team at the house. Breakfast was simple but perfect to start the day. One heads up is that the neighbors water pipes make some noise during the day which woke us up one night but then Yosniel spoke with them and made sure it didn't happen again. Responsive, gracious, really awesome location a few blocks from Parque Central where we met our friends. Recommend and would stay again. Just remember you're in Cuba and they are incredibly resourceful and generous with what they have. Go there for the culture and experience, not the heavenly bed. But remember that no night in Cuba should be spent in bed ;).

Rosa Maria was very helpful through email. She arranged a low-fare, friendly taxi ride to Trinidad for us while we were staying at a different location and also arranged a reliable taxi to the airport at 3am. When we were unable to find the house (because we were using the incorrect airbnb-listed address rather than the address she emailed us) she kindly sent a taxi to help find us. Very friendly hosts. Good location near a lot of sites. Excellent balcony view from the living room. The room is very small, however; by far the smallest of all our stays. We bumped our heads repeatedly on the pretty spiral staircase. There weren't even two chairs for sitting because it was so tight. The bed in the loft up the spiral stairs was nice and the AC worked very well. If you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room, the size won't be a problem. The mini-fridge was room temperature, which was a disappointment on a very hot day in July. Meals and cocktails were available if requested. One additional note: if you have a problem climbing stairs this is definitely not the place for you.

I loved staying at La Estancia. From the start, my interaction with Rosa Maria to book the room was warm and friendly. She offered to have a taxi ready for my arrival at the airport, which took a weight off my shoulders. Although my luggage arrived much later than my flight the taxi driver, Guillermo, patiently waited for me and provided amazing conversation on the way along with fascinating insights about life in Cuba. I assume that Guillermo is a trusted associate of the host family, which is indicative of the high quality of service they provide in welcoming guests. Again, I was met warmly upon my arrival at La Estancia by Rosita and Jorge Luis’s nephew Yosniel who gave me a tour of the house and offered to prepare dinner. I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfasts prepared by Yosniel and Yeffri. Meals were delicious, plentiful, healthy and reasonably priced. Yosniel and Yeffri were also both a delight to talk with. They provided excellent directions to nearby sights and recommendations for live music and worthwhile activities in La Habana. Considering that I can be a little on the shy side when I’m traveling alone, communicating with Yosniel and Yeffri was effortless and I very much looked forward conversing with them at meal times or when we crossed paths. The room itself was very clean, comfortable, and had an air conditioner directly above the bed, which was amazing after a long day of walking in the sun. I also enjoyed spending time in the beautifully decorated living room. The view from the window was lovely. You could watch everyday life unfold on the street and see the Malecon, which was a short walk away. I especially appreciated that the location wasn’t in a tourist heavy area yet was safe and close to the Vedado district, Habana Vieja, and la calle Prado (where you can book excursions through the major hotels and be among el Capitolio, el Gran Teatro and other wonderful sights). If you want to stay at a casa particular with genuinely caring and thoughtful hosts (who go out of their way to accommodate your needs), I would highly recommend La Estancia. This was my first visit to Cuba and am incredibly thankful for the hosts’ patience and understanding as I made one too many mistakes while planning my stay. I am also very grateful that they arranged my taxi ride to the airport, which had to pick me up at an inconvenient hour. Thank you Jorge Luis, Rosita, Yosniel, and Yeffri! I miss La Habana already and look forward to returning ☺

Just 3 minutes away by bike ride. Charming place. The hosts were around for any questions or breakfast they can prepare on request for a small fee. Also just 2-3 blocks from the melecon. We had a great time if youre up to get a sneak peek into the local neighborhood life.
