I am renting 1 bedroom (in a 2 bedroom Apt. Note: i have received feedback that this was not clear. You will stay in a private room in a 2 bedroom apt) on the 1st floor in the heart of Nolita, a trendy and yet quiet neighborhood sandwiched between SOHO on the west, Little italy/Chinatown in the South and Lower East side on the east.
The apartment has a good sized living room and kitchen. The place is right on spring street and Mott street and there are tons of great restaurants like Epistrophy, Lombardis, Rubys, Torrisi within a block.
The room is spacious and has two large windows opening onto Mott street so there is ample sunlight. And one of the windows opens into a beautiful fire escape that is a bonus in the summer as it serves as a wonderful balcony.
You are more than welcome to use the bedroom, the tons of books, my yoga mats, the kitchen, the living room etc. Make yourself at home, as i tell people. I usually stay in the other room but both rooms are totally separate and private.
The room i am renting is clean, has a very comfortable mattress, clean linens, a huge white desk, full length mirror and closet space.
The bathroom is small and has a standing shower (so if you are looking for a bathtub, then this is not it). Also since it gets no sunlight, it is a constant (and sometime not 100%) effort to keep the mildew away
If you are visiting the city for a few days, this apartment is sincerely in one of the best locations that you would want to stay in.
I am flexible with the dates so ping me. And yes i am a regular yoga practitioner so feel free to use my mats as well
The apartment is also a block way from the 6 train and a block from the J and Z trains and two blocks from the B, F and D trains!
Few things to note:
1. There are three trash cans in the living room - one big white trash can for regular garbage, a paper bag for paper garbage and a small plastic can for plastics and bottles. So please put trash accordingly.
2. When you leave the house, i would recommend, leaving one of the windows in your room slightly open so that there is fresh air in the house.
3. Other than that, kust keep the house clean and things in their proper place.
4. Enjoy the great neighborhood. Don't miss the gnocchi at epistrophy, the rice pudding at the rice to riches, the McNally Jackson bookstore, dim sum in china town and so much more
Just drop me a line for what all to do in the hood!
It was my second stay with Sax while in New York. I assume it does say it all. And I will come back next time I'm working in the Big Apple. Of course, as Sax explains in the description, the bathroom might seem a little time for taller people like me and Mott Street at night might (very) lively if not a little noisy but it's certainly not enough not to recommend warmly Sax's room in the heart of Little Italy. By the way, the "Fiat Cafe" (dedicated to the old Cinquecento) on the other side of the street is a must... Thank you Sax for your hospitality...
The location of the apartment was great!
Mott street is good located in the Soho and there are many Coffey shops and nice places to eat next by, thought at night it is a bit nosy.
The room was clean and very comfortable, also the bed.
Sax was very nice hosted, i met him only at my last day but during of my staying he helped me with all the information i needed.
The apartment is really well located and really generous sized bedroom for Manhattan. Our paths didn't cross much on my stay, but Sax is a great host and offered me some good tips for decent coffee options. The neighbourhood is full of them. The only downside to this place is the early morning garbage truck pick ups. Early risers won't have any issues!
I´ve stayed in Sax´s apartment for three days and I truly enjoyed it.
The communication was very good and the handover of the keys worked very well. The apartment is located in a very nice neighborhood. There are many lovely restaurants, cafes and a 24h deli nearby. The metro station is also walkable. The area is safe, even at night. The apartment is very cozy and clean. My room was very comfy and there was enough space. Sax is the perfect host: very friendly, respectful and helpful. It was a pleasure staying at his place. Thank you very much for everything Sax! For my next travel to New York, I´d definitely stay at his apartment again.
Sax was a kind and helpful host. The location was excellent; lots of cool shops and cafés. The bedroom was comfortable with a desk to help me keep my stuff organized.
The apartment is very well located and the bedroom is comfortable. The bathroom is very very small (not just the shower), and privacy is limited. Overall - it was a good experience.
Sax is a nice host.
The apartment was smaller than I thought it would be but it wasn't a problem because I stayed mostly in my room when I was in the apartment. The room itself was big enough for me and looked nice. The bed was super comfy. The only problem with my stay was that on the first day, the hot water didn't come out in the bathroom sink and shower even when I turned the faucets appropriately. It did for all the other days though so it was fine.
