Loft style one bedroom apartment with 70 sqm in a rebuilt 1900's building, in a cool upper-class neighborhood.
Open space living and dining room, ensuite bedroom + social toilet, well equipped kitchen and small outdoor patio. It perfectly accommodates 3 people.
Right next door to Basilica da Estrela, Estrela Park and the historic 28 electric car, that drives you through Lisbon 7 hills with amazing views to historic downtown neighborhoods: Bairro Alto (7min), Chiado (10min), Baixa (15min), Alfama (25min), Castelo S. Jorge (35min), Graça (40min). Walking distance to Principe Real (trendy upper-class neighborhood), São Bento (The Parliament), Bairro Alto and Santos (nightlife and design districts) and even Chiado (the trendiest district) if you like to walk (20 minute beautiful up and down walking tour). Very close to the river side, including the docks and Belem area with lots of important museums and monuments. Several public transportation at your door (subway, buses, taxi, electric car).
Quite a contrast to their wild-child neighbour Bairro Alto, Estrela and Lapa exude a chic vibe with streets dotted with vide-clad mansions, leafy squares and galleries. The well-heeled districts have obvious charms like neoclassical Basilica da Estrela and Durer originals in National Art Museum.
It is a calm neighborhood where the up and down streets offer you river and city views and lanes that swoop down to the glittering Tejo. The typical houses are side by side with the old monasteries and buildings of the XIX century. Close Principe Real, the newborn trendiest upper class district, to Madragoa, the historical neighborhood of fishermen, to Santos and Bairro Alto, nightlife centres of Lisbon, famous by their bars, restaurants and design shops and to Chiado, the heart of downtown Lisbon.
You can walk to Basilica da Estrela, National Art Museum and Portuguese Parliament, the site of an old Benedictine monastery. You can take the famous and beautiful tram route 28 that leads you to Bairro Alto, Chiado, Baixa, S. Jorge Castle, Alfama, Graça and Mouraria. Nearby you can also take bus 727 to Belém, home of several important museums and monuments (Jeronimos Monastery, Belem Tower, Padrao dos Descobrimentos, Berardo's Comtemporary Art Museum...).

My wife and I spent a wonderful week in an apartment Estrela. Nice and modern apartment with all the necessary for a comfortable stay. On the other hand, the presence of small things and details indicate that the apartment is furnished with love and make you feel at home. Great location, 15 minutes walk down the street to the beautiful city, near one of the most beautiful parks in Lisbon. Immediately in front of the apartment there is a tram station 28, which takes you to the city for 4 minutes. If you arrive by car you can be safe and free of charge to park in the surrounding streets. For each recommendation and enjoyment
First off let me say that Ines has a beautiful apartment and that the photos provided are accurate. It's one floor up off the street with a few easy stairs.
The location of the apartment is close to grocers and has a great coffee/pastry shop only a few doors away, on the corner. You can easily order coffee/breakfast with the locals knowing minor Portuguese. There is a full grocery store on the other side of the park. The Bascillica has a local taxi stand and has a stop for the "hop on hop off" tour buses. The tram runs right in front of the apartment.
The bedroom is nice and is in the back of the apartment so is quiet from street noise. The kitchen has everything you could need and is nice and easy to use. There is only a clothes washer and no dryer (which is not a problem.) I'm only mentioning it so you think to add a day to air dry your clothes!
Okay the only problem we had which was a big problem. This is the second time I've run into this in Europe so maybe it's a North American thing but the internet is provided by USB stick. If you are travelling light by iPhone or using your iPod or iPad, you have no USB connection, so NO internet. That means you can't check transit information, weather, flight schedule, flight check-in, etc. etc. Maybe we are used to WIFI in North America by wireless router (?)
Communication/email/text with Ines was great. We had many flight delays and her family was very helpful with us for information and key exchange. They are very nice and reliable people.
Overall, the place was beautiful and the location was good. I would easily recommend Ines and her apartment as a good place to stay!!
PS - If you like *Wallpaper magazine (which I love) you are in for a treat here!
Great apartment in Lisbon! Next to a lovely church and a relaxing park.
Trams (including the famous 28) just outside the building and overall good communication with the city most important places.
The apartment was very good and full of useful things, such as guidebooks, maps and DVD collection for those tired of climbing Lisbon's hills :)
The hosts were great!
The apartment was such a lovely and peaceful place to stay for our few days in Lisbon. Transport links were excellent and every where was very accessible by foot too.
Ines was very accommodating about our check-in and check out times.
I would definitely stay here again!
The apartment of Ines is amazing. Very cozy, artistic, spotlessly clean and situated in a very nice district. We especially enjoyed big park situated 2 minutes by walk from the house, where there was summer cinema, lots of attractions and truly wonderful ambience! Ines left us maps, notes and instructions and some treats. We also had a chance to meet her Mum, who was very helpful and friendly. We would definatly love to come back to stay there once again one day!
We stayed in Estrela for 4 nights and enjoyed it thoroughly. The apartment had everything we needed and is located in a quiet area, just across from the Estrela Gardens and Basillca de Estrela. It's right on the 28 tram line and close to the centre of the city.
It was the perfect place for us to enjoy our stay in Lisbon and made us feel like we were living amongst the real Lisboetas.
A terrific, clean & quiet apartment located in a great neighborhood. We highly enjoyed our visit.
Ines place was perfect. It's in a great part of town and everything is but a very, very short cab or tram ride away. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again in Lisbon.
