"Just want you to know that we really liked the house and would like to thank you for everything."
~You will love staying here...it's the perfect spot for visiting or discovering Los Angeles and much cozier than a hotel!~
Private cottage - bungalow - house ...(not a share, studio or guest house). It is a in the most convenient neighborhood in Santa Monica: biking distance to the beach (take our bikes) and still very convenient to all other LA neighborhoods. No traffic hassles of westerly streets. Very safe and quiet.
Interaction with Guests
Guests have complete privacy, as I am away traveling when the house is rented. Unless I am in a remote wilderness location, I do try to return messages from guests within a few hours so please feel free to message me about your dates and/or queries! Thanks and happy travel planning!
The house is a small bungalow, but is still not like a hotel or studio where you have only one room. It's possible to entertain, relax in the garden and feel very comfortable here. I hope you do! I have really nice sheets and fluffy towels and try to provide a comfortable experience as much as possible, so travelers can just relax and enjoy. This is my primary residence when I'm not traveling, so you will also find all the things that may make the cottage feel like this is your home away from home. My neighbors are quiet and kind and there is a 24hour nursing facility across the street, and it is a very, very safe area. It's a little oasis in the city.
The cottage is in great neighborhood! Nice and quiet, but still two blocks in between main boulevards that lead to both the beaches and the city. The parking is simple, there is public transport very within a block or two and the house is situated in an area that makes navigating very easy. (If you look at the guidebook and zoom in at the house, you can see all the bus stops on Wilshire and SM Blvds.) Taxis and Uber rides are prevalent and very easy to secure.
Other Things to Note
Please let me know if you have any special needs or requests. I enjoy telling people about fun things to do in the area ...and in the process discovering new fun things myself!
Please, no smoking inside the house.
Please no parties; be respectful of neighbors and noise levels.
Please no unapproved pets or people.
*Will consider one well-behaved pet under 20 lbs.
Great neighborhood with good parking. Tessa was very organized and attentive and maintained contact . Bungalow is small, a little overcrowded and getting dated. Nice little patio area in front. We were there for a month and overall enjoyed the experience and were comfortable.
We stayed for about 5 weeks in this small older cottage tucked conveniently between Wilshire and Santa Monica avenues, which makes it convenient to many places in Brentwood and Santa Monica. The queen bed was comfortable and, as promised, there were clean sheets and towels. When there were problems with the gas heat, our landlord went out of her way to arrange repairs and even paid for a temporary solution. The heat fix will be an asset for future visitors if they run into cold weather as we did.
The rental came with a visitor permit for street parking, and we were always able to find a space within a block, often much closer. The neighborhood seemed safe after dark. The cottage has a lovely private patio.
The kitchen is small but has a full size gas stove and refrigerator. If you are planning to entertain or cook a lot, it will be cramped. Restaurants, CVS, and a high market are within an easy walk. The cottage is photogenic but don't expect the luxury comfort of, for example, a bathroom that you might find in a first class hotel. (We did our own deeper cleaning when we arrived.) But then again, you're not paying Santa Monica Hotel rates.
Our host was very pleasant and consistently responsive and helpful whenever we needed her assistance throughout the stay. There were bicycles that we did not use.
In short this cottage served our basic needs and had a good location. We would consider it again.
Thanks, Rhonda and Pete! It was very nice to meet you both and we appreciate your kind words and feedback on the cottage. Even though it is a modest bungalow, we do our best to make it feel like a five star hotel, and make it comfortable and cozy home that is always professionally cleaned before each guests' arrival. We are happy to provide any extra cleaning service whenever possible, as we did during your stay. Our housekeeper appreciated the tip! Thank you!
We loved this little '20s cottage so much we wished we could move in. It's in a perfect neighborhood, quiet and safe but so close to major roads and restaurants and grocery stores and only a few miles to the ocean. Tessa couldn't have been a better host--the house was set up with everything we needed, and she was extra accommodating. Perfect!
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Tessa was in touch with me constantly prior the trip and made us feel welcome.
The neighborhood is very quite and convenient given you access to the Santa Monica beach and not far from major attrctions
The cottage is very comfortable, and with a good location. Very quite neighborhood. The cottage has everything needed. We didn't met Tessa, although she provided us all the conditions for enjoyable stay :)
Tessa was a fantastic host! Her cottage is adorable and in a great area of Santa Monica. Tessa has thought of everything from leaving bikes to extra soft towels. I hope to stay again!
Hello Airbnb friends! I'm a southern California native, born and raised in San Diego. I have lived in Los Angeles since attending UCLA and keep this as my home base when I travel. Meeting new people and experiencing different cultures is all part of the fun and I've been fortunate enough to have lived in several different countries (and picked up a couple of languages along the way)! I love sharing my home with like-minded, good people who appreciate the coziness and conveniences of home while traveling. I strive to make every guest feel welcome and comfortable...and love being a guest myself! I look forward to hearing from you!
