~You will love staying here...it's the perfect spot for visiting or discovering Los Angeles and much cozier than a hotel!~
~As per new Santa Monica law, stays must be for more than 30 days. Share your stay with friends!~
Private cottage - bungalow - house ...on a property with three other houses. It is a in the most convenient neighborhood in Santa Monica: biking distance to everything, (we have two bikes for you to use), and still very convenient to all other LA neighborhoods. No traffic hassles of westerly streets. Very safe and quiet.
Interaction with Guests
Guests have complete privacy as I am away working or traveling when the cottage is available.
The house is a small bungalow, but is still not like many rentals confined to one room. The house is small, but there is a separate living room, bedroom, bathroom, dining room and kitchen...as well as your own, private yard...so a pretty good deal for Santa Monica! It's possible to relax in the garden and feel very peaceful here. We hope you do! We have tried to accommodate whatever travelers may need in the house, to provide a comfortable experience, so travelers can just relax and enjoy. This is a primary residence when not away on business or holidays, so you will also find all the things that make the cottage feel like this is your home away from home. The neighbors are quiet and kind and there is a 24hour nursing facility across the street. It is a very, very safe area. A little oasis in the city.
The cottage is in the perfect neighborhood for getting around both Santa Monica and LA! Nice and quiet, but still within blocks of two main boulevards that lead to both the beaches and the city. The parking is simple, there is public transport a block away, and the house is situated in an area that makes navigating very easy. Taxis, Uber, Lyft and Zip cars are prevalent and very easy to secure. Also try Relay Rides if you're renting a vehicle...it's like Airbnb for cars!
Other Things to Note
Please let me know if you have any special needs or requests. I enjoy telling people about fun things to do in the area ...and in the process discovering new things myself!
Please, no smoking inside the house.
Please, no parties; be respectful of neighbors and noise levels.
Please, no unapproved pets or people.
*Will consider one well-behaved pet under 20 lbs.
Great place to stay! The pictures are accurate and everything is just as described.
Conveniently located. lots of restaurants within a 5-10 min drive. groceries and pharmacy within a few blocks. There's also a great Crossfit Box right across the street.
Had a slight problem with parking but not too bad at all. The bed was a bit too soft for my liking.
Tessa was very welcoming and she was very easy to communicate with. Her replies were quick and direct.
Tessa was very responsive prior to our stay as well as during the stay. She met us in person the day we arrived even though it was quite late. Overall the cottage was very nice. We did have a few issues during the stay, but Tessa was able to resolve within a few hours.
Tessa was just amazing! She was incredibly courteous and made everything very easy, with detailed instructions and also by being so readily available for all kinds of questions. My brother and I spend a week at her cozy apartment. The neighborhood was very quiet and it's conveniently located to good grocery stores (Bristol Farms/CVS...). Parking passes were provided for street parking. In addition, the place itself was great, very comfortable and clean - just as described in the listing with great amenities (WiFi, Netflix...). She has written a handbook which answered all our questions about the house or Santa Monica itself. What a great idea!
We strongly recommend this place to anyone who's looking to stay at a cozy cottage in the heart of Santa Monica.
Thank you so much Tessa
Tessa was a wonderful hostess. We didn't have to worry about a thing! House was very clean and quiet.
I spent a week here and I absolutely loved it! Very clean, quiet and has everything you need. The bed was very comfortable, the two futons in the living room are a bit stiff but there was extra padding provided. The neighborhood is within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and shopping. The beach is only a short bus or taxi ride away! Overall I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Santa Monica!
Tessa was great at checking in before our arrival to make sure everything went smoothly. The cottage was really cute and cozy and the location was fantastic. The place was well-stocked and we had everything we needed. The mattress was very soft so that was the only issue for those of us that prefer really firm beds!

About the Host, Tessa
Hello Airbnb friends! Note: I always get back to people asap...sometimes within an hour. Please feel free to message me. Thanks! I'm a southern California native, born and raised in San Diego. I have lived in Los Angeles since attending UCLA and keep this as my home base when I travel. Meeting new people and experiencing different cultures is all part of the fun and I've been fortunate enough to have lived in several different countries (and picked up a couple of languages along the way)! I love sharing my home with like-minded, good people who appreciate the coziness and conveniences of home while traveling. I strive to make every guest feel welcome and comfortable...and love being a guest myself! I look forward to hearing from you!
