Guest Access

This is not a share, studio or guest house. It is a private little cottage - bungalow - house in the most convenient neighborhood in Santa Monica, biking distance to the beach (take our bikes!) and very convenient to all other LA neighborhoods. No traffic hassles of westerly streets. Very safe and quiet.

The Neighborhood

The house is a small little bungalow, but it's still not like a hotel or studio where you're in just one room. It's possible to entertain, sit out in the garden, and feel very comfortable here. I hope you do! I have really nice sheets and fluffy towels and am try to mimic a (nicer) hotel experience as much as possible, so travelers can just relax and enjoy. I live here, so you'll also find table linens, all sorts of cooking things (I never use) and the little things you would need to feel like this is your home away from home. The neighbors are quiet and kind and there is a 24hour nursing facility across the street, so it's very very safe area. It's a little oasis in the city.

Getting around

The cottage is in great, quiet neighborhood, but still two blocks in between main streets that lead to both the beaches and the city. There is public transport very near and the house is situated in an area that makes navigating very easy. (If you look at the guidebook and zoom in at the house, you can see all the bus stops within one or two blocks.

Other Things to Note

  • Tessa's home was in a great location for walking to the beach and much more. Just as she described on airbnb. The privacy of the garden in the front was lovely. Thank you Tessa....

    April 2014
  • Tessa was a very helpful and available host. We enjoyed the cottage and especially the lovely outdoor area for coffee in the mornings.

    March 2014
  • Everything was good, a nice and cozy apartment with a sunny little garden. Close to things you need as supermarket, beach, shopping and restaurants. The host was really nice and everything worked out perfect with that part. The only thing we could complain about was that the apartment was a little bit dark. But you don´t spend so time there anyway. We really recommend this host and place!

  • We had a wonderful stay in a very central location! The cottage is as pictured, and everything in clean and beautiful working condition. The shower water pressure is excellent (something important to me!) and the wifi fast and reliable. Parking passes are provided for street parking but do be careful and check the signs (we got fined the first night but this was from our own carelessness!). This was a great first Air BNB experience : )

  • Tessa was so lovely to wait for us to come in after our first flight was cancelled and our second one delayed. She showed us everything and was very accommodating. We had everything we needed.
The small house was exactly what we needed for the week. It's an old apartment but very clean, neat, and nicely furnished. The towels and sheets were great. Everything was as described. Thanks.

  • Tessa was very accommodating of an unexpected change in our schedule, and the cottage itself was really adorable and as good or better than we expected. House instructions were good and helped us navigate some of the quirks of being in an older home (like the heater), the wifi worked well and the little yard was very cute and convenient as well. Parking was not too difficult and the street was very quiet. Our dog was very happy here as well and we did not find her nervous or upset as there were not any unexpected noises or loud animals in the neighborhood. Very peaceful! We look forward to staying here again sometime!

    December 2013
  • Tessa's little bungalow met all my expectations after seeing the lovely pictures and knowing what a pleasant, quiet neighborhood it is in. I was commuting to UCLA every day--20 min in rush-hour traffic, so plenty convenient for my needs. And she takes very good care of her guests, making sure everything is working well for you. I loved getting up each morning and shuffling out to the cute kitchen to make my tea and breakfast. All that was missing was a kitty to make it truly feel like home!

    December 2013
  • Great place! Tessa is a kind and gracious host, and I really enjoyed my stay. The neighborhood is quiet, so it's a good place to really relax! It's a comfortable, clean, and cozy cottage. Loved it.

    December 2013
  • The house fully met our needs and is in a great location. Tessa was a good host, was easily contactable and able to answer any queries we had.

We would definitely stay there again.

    November 2013
  • Tessa was great. She made sure everything was cozy clean for us (including water bottles and apples!) - we felt right at home.

Hello Airbnb friends! I'm a southern California native, born and raised in San Diego. I have lived in Los Angeles since attending UCLA and keep this as my home base when I travel. Meeting new people and experiencing different cultures is all part of the fun and I've been fortunate enough to have lived in several different countries (and picked up a couple of languages along the way)! I love sharing my home with like-minded, good people who appreciate the coziness and conveniences of home while traveling. I strive to make every guest feel welcome and comfortable...and love being a guest myself! I look forward to hearing from you!
