Cristina is a friendly host who helped make my stay very comfortable. The apartment is clean, charming and has everything you need to feel at home. I was traveling alone and felt very safe in this location. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen stocked with food for my use upon arrival! If you need other things a small store is right around the corner (though i prefer shopping at Mercato Centrale where you can buy fresh produce and other things for an excellent price!) It's about a 30 minute walk to the historical center, but if you're feeling lazy there is excellent bus service close to the apartment. Florence is a magical place and is by far my favorite European city. Grazie Cristina!
Cristina was a very friendly host and flexible to work with. Her apartment is beautiful and has multiple amenities you won't find at most hotels. We had a bit of confusion over pricing but this was due to a glitch in Airbnb and Cristina was very gracious in sorting out the confusion. We loved our stay and the back patio is am especially lovely place to pass an evening.
Cristina and her apartment are lovely, just like the photos. Cristina was very helpful and accommodating. The apartment has everything one would need (just like being at home). If you're travelling light, then public transit is the way to get to the apartment. If not, it was a 15€ cab ride from Santa Maria Novella train station. There's a grocery store and a coffee shop nearby. I was travelling alone and didn't feel worried in the least. The bus stop to get to and from downtown Florence (piazza San Marco) isn't too far either and runs often. If you're an avid bicyclist, biking to and from the city core is very easy as well. There are lots of bike paths if the Italian drivers make you nervous:) (website hidden) were a lovely bunch of guys, if you're looking to go taste some Chianti and a Florentine lunch in the countryside either by bike or Vespa (inexpensive compared to most). Florence is a wonderful city with lots to see, do, and eat, that there's no chance of boredom. Cheers!
I liked this place very much! Apartment is clean and cosy in a quiet area about 30 min. by feet from the centre. I was surprised to find there all the stuff necessary for living, including some food and cookies) Also I was pleased with the abundance of lovely interior items like vases, candles and flowers.
Cristina is very nice and kindly hostess, thank you!
I had a three night stay at Cristina's apartment. She recieved me very warmly and we had an interesting conversation about lifestyles. She offers her guests a large variety of snacks, coffee, tea etc. and had even bought me some gluten free biscuits!
I think her studio is a good choice over a hostel/hotel in the centre. I liked the local feeling (e.g. chatting with a very friendly neighbor lady!) and the neighborhood in general. The studio is modernly furnished with a fast WIFI and the facilities to do basic cooking. There is very little natural light coming in, though, but since you can spend time on the terrace and the yard and mostly stay in the center anyway it did not matter.
Well cant add much more than the pictures and the description of the place says, its all true! Cristina was really wonderful and helpful, in communication before we met, and in personal.
Being the newbie on Airbnb I had some concerns and questions, which were answered by Cristina with great patience and concern. I took a train a train from Rome to Florence, that was late for an hour, and she even called me on the phone, on her account, to check if everything was alright. When I finally arrived at the address I have discovered that she was waiting for me for an hour in the middle of the street, just for sure! Its so nice to arrive at an unfamiliar place with a friendly concern and smile!
The place is just as described, and even more. Couldn't ignore the effort Cristina took in small details: romantic candles all over the place, Florence guides and books and printouts, kitchen full of utilities and food (just in case, for a good morning breakfast, as she said to me), soaps, torchlight, tv and cd player with cd's, you name it shes got it. She really made an effort to make her place as cozy and hospitable as can be. And she is a really easy going and friendly person, prepared to get out of the box to accommodate your needs.
The location is also perfect, near the center of the town, in a beautiful quiet residential area. And I really needed it, because Florence is really packed full with tourists. So going back to her friendly house, and hearing the locals chattering and preparing their evening meal, was a perfect bacdrop to relax and rewind.
From the house the famous Arno river can be reached by a pleasant 20min walk via Viale Edmondo de Amicis, and from there its a beautiful walk down the river straight to Piazza della Signoria, and Uffizi gallery, another pleasant 20min walk. There are also a couple of buses conecting it to the center of the town, but I prefered to take the train from Campo Marte train station that is just around the corner and from there for 1.5euro take a train to Santa Maria Novella train station that is just in the center of the major tourist attractions.
And a tip: don't forget to book in advance the tickets to Uffizi over the Internet, otherways you don't stand a chance of getting in. The same goes for Galleria dell Accademia.
In short highly recommended, especially if traveling solo for a real Florence experience, or as a romantic getaway (her place has a garden and also a terrace, wonderful for a long talks over the bottle of vine). Thanks Cristina... Arrivederci
Cristina was a wonderful hostess - she prepared everything for my arrival and supported whenever necessary!
