Description

The space

James and Tom welcome you to our lovingly restored red brick Victorian home in Phibsborough with all mod cons, luxurious surroundings and peaceful flower filled garden for your enjoyment. We are a short 15 minute walk to the centre of Dublin and all that this vibrant city has to offer. We are close to the Botanic Gardens and a short drive to the beautiful Phoenix Park, home to Dublin Zoo and roaming deer. Our home is fully equipped with all mod cons including WIFI, cable tv, power shower in our large (shared) luxury bathroom, feather filled pillows and duvets, nespresso coffee machine etc,

We are a gay couple who have been together for over 20 years and would be delighted to welcome you to stay in our comfortable and convenient home.

We would be happy to provide you with an extensive continental breakfast in our sunny breakfast room or on the patio listening to the gurgling fountain of our fish pond!

Our neighbourhood is a traditional area of Dublin where you can find all amenities in the locality including supermarket, pubs and most shops that any visitor would require. Because we are so close to the city centre and on a major bus and taxi route, the city is easily accessible for more fine dining and theatre options.

If you like the idea of staying in a real Victorian period home with working real fires and fireplaces, elegant cornicing and a delightful cottage style walled garden, this is the place for you.

House Rules
Check in is anytime after 4PM

The most important rule at our house is that you make yourself at home. Beyond that there are a few small things which we like guests to observe. Smoking is permitted on terrace area only. This is in the back garden outside of our kitchen. We also ask guests to open curtains on their bedroom window during the day when they are leaving the house as closed curtains all day doesn't look so good. Guests who have cars must remember to ask us for guest parking permits for on-street parking.

This was my girlfriend and I's first experience of being hosted in an Airbnb property and a brilliant one at that - we cannot speak highly enough of James and Tom and the welcome they gave us. Over our three night stay in their beautifully authentic Victorian home we had some great conversations, shared lovely sit down breakfasts and received some excellent recommendations for things to do in Dublin. Our room was spacious, bright and very comfortable and their house ideally positioned only a 20 minute über from the airport one way and 10 minutes to the main city centre attractions heading south towards the Liffey. We really appreciated being loaned a free bus ticket for the DoDublin hop on hop off bus too which we took full advantage off as we only had to buy one instead of two! Overall this the ideal place to stay if you're looking for somewhere away from the noise and commotion of Temple Bar but still within easy reach of the city and lots of local restaurants etc. If and when we are next in Dublin, James and Tom will be our first port of call!

Tom was an amazing host! My daughter arrived in the middle of the night and he was awaiting her arrival offering tea and a snack. The home was so lovely and comfortable. Each day began with breakfast layer out with a variety of choices. The quiet street so close to the bus stop was perfect. The beautiful backyard offered a quiet retreat after a busy day of running about. Highly recommend!!

We highly recommend this place! We've received an incredibly warm welcome from Tom, while we only met James briefly since he was travelling. They showed a genuine interest in talking to us, and could advice us in what to visit in Dublin and surrounding areas according to our interests. The breakfasts were delicious and accompanied by great conversations. I've came down with a cold while there, but they went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. The house is as lovely as on the pictures: both the bathroom and the bedroom are spacious, tastefully decorated and clean. The bed is very comfortable. Misty the cat adds an extra homely atmosphere, and she's well behaved. The city centre is about 20 min walk away; and you can take the shuttle bus to the airport from Drumcondra train station, a 15 min walk from the house. A Tesco shop is just around the corner. Overall, if you are looking for an experience which is made personal by local hosts, Tom and James are a great choice :)

It was dark and rainy when we arrived at Tom and James' Place. They welcomed us warmly, put on a kettle and provided tea, cookies and nuts. A perfect welcome to rainy Dublin. Misty the cat along with pleasant chat with the fellas made us fill right at home. Thank you all!

James and Tom (and Misty) are the consummate hosts. My girlfriend and I had an incredible stay with them in their gorgeous home. The place is an incredible value simply based on amenities and location; that James and Tom provide such a warm and friendly welcome on top of all that makes this the perfect spot for a Dublin-based vacation. We could not possibly give a higher recommendation!

Had a wonderful time with Tom and James. Their home was lovely and their hospitality was superb. Very nice gentleman. They went out of their way to make my son and I feel very comfortable. We feel like we were family, not strangers. The home and bedroom was great. We didn't go into the garden but it looked gorgeous and inviting. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and beautiful home.

James And Tom User ProfileJames And Tom is a superhost.

We are a gay couple, together for over 20 years and share our Victorian home with our cat Misty. We enjoy a relaxing home environment and enjoy good food and good conversation. Our tastes are diverse but we both enjoy music; Tom is a choral singer and used to play the trombone in a rock band whilst James is a Gilbert & Sullivan buff and enjoys all types of musical theatre and opera. We both enjoy the theatre, cinema and going to concerts. James' particular passions are gardening and cooking whilst Tom would be more interested in spirtuality and self development. We both enjoy travelling and have recently done two successful home exchanges to Amsterdam and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
