James and Tom welcome you to our lovingly restored red brick Victorian home in Phibsborough with all mod cons, luxurious surroundings and peaceful flower filled garden for your enjoyment. We are a short 15 minute walk to the centre of Dublin and all that this vibrant city has to offer. We are close to the Botanic Gardens and a short drive to the beautiful Phoenix Park, home to Dublin Zoo and roaming deer. Our home is fully equipped with all mod cons including WIFI, cable tv, power shower in our large (shared) luxury bathroom, feather filled pillows and duvets, nespresso coffee machine etc,
We are a gay couple who have been together for over 20 years and would be delighted to welcome you to stay in our comfortable and convenient home.
We would be happy to provide you with an extensive continental breakfast in our sunny breakfast room or on the patio listening to the gurgling fountain of our fish pond!
Our neighbourhood is a traditional area of Dublin where you can find all amenities in the locality including supermarket, pubs and most shops that any visitor would require. Because we are so close to the city centre and on a major bus and taxi route, the city is easily accessible for more fine dining and theatre options.
If you like the idea of staying in a real Victorian period home with working real fires and fireplaces, elegant cornicing and a delightful cottage style walled garden, this is the place for you.
The most important rule at our house is that you make yourself at home. Beyond that there are a few small things which we like guests to observe. Smoking is permitted on terrace area only. This is in the back garden outside of our kitchen. We also ask guests to open curtains on their bedroom window during the day when they are leaving the house as closed curtains all day doesn't look so good. Guests who have cars must remember to ask us for guest parking permits for on-street parking.
We had a lovely stay in Dublin with Tom and James. They were really warm and welcoming, and went out of their way to suggest places we might be interested in visiting. The room and house were very comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the big bath. It was an easy walk into the city centre and good public transport options to Kilmainham Gaol (catch the 40 bus) and other attractions. We would recommend this airbnb to friends and family.
My boyfriend and I stayed with James and Tom for 3 nights and they were wonderful hosts! Our flights didn't get in until late, but James stayed up until midnight to greet us and show us around their beautiful home! The breakfast in the morning was huge and delicious! When we took a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher they even set out a breakfast to go and small sandwiches to take with! The pictures posted were also exactly how their home was, very nice, spacious and clean. We wish we had more time to chat with James and Tom, but our schedules didn't seem to match up for the weekend. Overall, we had a great time staying with them in Dublin and would love to stay with them again!
James and Tom are the perfect hosts, very friendly, helpful and open. We felt at home straight away. Their home and the room are just lovely, we'll be back for sure!!
Our 2 night stay at Tom and James's house was perfect. Their house is lovely and the room is delightful. Tom was really helpful and friendly and made us feel at home. He gave us great advice to enjoy our stay in Dublin and nice tips to go around the city and enjoy our evenings there. We really loved our stay there and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy Dublin.
James and Tom were amazing hosts to stay with. Both were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They even made us breakfast both days we arrived, and they went above and beyond in their hosting. We so enjoyed sitting down to chat with James and Tom- it was a highlight to hear about Dublin from their perspectives and just overall chat with them! We are so glad to have ended our trip with a stay with James and Tom- it was the perfect end to an amazing trip. Thanks James and Tom for a great stay!!
We are a gay couple, together for over 20 years and share our Victorian home with our cat Misty. We enjoy a relaxing home environment and enjoy good food and good conversation. Our tastes are diverse but we both enjoy music; Tom is a choral singer and used to play the trombone in a rock band whilst James is a Gilbert & Sullivan buff and enjoys all types of musical theatre and opera. We both enjoy the theatre, cinema and going to concerts. James' particular passions are gardening and cooking whilst Tom would be more interested in spirtuality and self development. We both enjoy travelling and have recently done two successful home exchanges to Amsterdam and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
