James and Tom welcome you to our lovingly restored red brick Victorian home in Phibsborough with all mod cons, luxurious surroundings and peaceful flower filled garden for your enjoyment. We are a short 15 minute walk to the centre of Dublin and all that this vibrant city has to offer. We are close to the Botanic Gardens and a short drive to the beautiful Phoenix Park, home to Dublin Zoo and roaming deer. Our home is fully equipped with all mod cons including WIFI, cable tv, power shower in our large (shared) luxury bathroom, feather filled pillows and duvets, nespresso coffee machine etc,
We are a gay couple who have been together for over 20 years and would be delighted to welcome you to stay in our comfortable and convenient home.
We would be happy to provide you with an extensive continental breakfast in our sunny breakfast room or on the patio listening to the gurgling fountain of our fish pond!
Our neighbourhood is a traditional area of Dublin where you can find all amenities in the locality including supermarket, pubs and most shops that any visitor would require. Because we are so close to the city centre and on a major bus and taxi route, the city is easily accessible for more fine dining and theatre options.
If you like the idea of staying in a real Victorian period home with working real fires and fireplaces, elegant cornicing and a delightful cottage style walled garden, this is the place for you.
The most important rule at our house is that you make yourself at home. Beyond that there are a few small things which we like guests to observe. Smoking is permitted on terrace area only. This is in the back garden outside of our kitchen. We also ask guests to open curtains on their bedroom window during the day when they are leaving the house as closed curtains all day doesn't look so good. Guests who have cars must remember to ask us for guest parking permits for on-street parking.
James and Tom were amazing hosts to stay with. Both were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They even made us breakfast both days we arrived, and they went above and beyond in their hosting. We so enjoyed sitting down to chat with James and Tom- it was a highlight to hear about Dublin from their perspectives and just overall chat with them! We are so glad to have ended our trip with a stay with James and Tom- it was the perfect end to an amazing trip. Thanks James and Tom for a great stay!!
James and Tom were very hospitable!! We had a great first time on airbnb staying with them :D The house is lovely, just as you can see in the pictures, also very clean! Oh, the breakfast was delicious and very big.
The bed was super comfortable, we were very happy with that!
All I can say, is that their house is just so lovely and they are too.
Thank you for everything and for making our stay so nice!
We had a wonderful time and James and Tom's beautiful home, from the drinks on arrival, to the help with the taxi, to the cracking breakfast spread. I would wholeheartedly recommend this airbnb.
James and Tom are really a lovely couple; I spent some time with them and it really felt like being home. I cannot image a better Air BnB place in Dublin. You walk 15 minutes to the centre, but therefore the environment is quiet and net.
James and Tom were the most wonderful hosts and our stay in Dublin could not have been better.
My classmate and I decided to extend a class trip with a weekend stop over in Dublin and could not be more pleased with our choice! After a red eye flight and full day of sight seeing we found ourselves at Tom and James'. After a warm greeting, including a great cup of tea, and giving us the lay of the land Lauren's jet lag caught up with her and she went to bed early, leaving me to my own devices. Tom and James were the quintessential hosts, even going above and beyond, inviting me to dine with them.
The house was charming, the bed was almost too comfortable (didn't want to get out of it), the location was extremely convenient (easy taxi to the airport, bus stop at the top of the street), breakfast was delicious, and their suggestions really helped us have a wonderful Dublin experience. We were even so lucky to catch an episode of Downton Abbey with them on our last night.
Tom and James truly showed us a great time and could not have been more hospitable. I would recommend them to anyone looking to stay in Dublin!
They are lovely and warm couple. The room is so pretty and the breakfast james offered us was amazing. Love the garden, living room, and bathroom. We had the best airbnb experience. Thank you.
Tom and James were absolutely wonderful hosts! They were so kind-hearted as well as helpful with tourist information. We loved staying in the house and felt very welcome; tea, coffee, cake, and conversation were offered every morning and both Tom and James were a pleasure to be around. Thank you!
Tom and I are a gay couple, together for nearly 20 years and share our Victorian home with our cat Misty. We enjoy a relaxing home environment and enjoy good food and good conversation. Our tastes are diverse but we both enjoy music; Tom is a choral singer and used to play the trombone in a rock band whilst i am a Gilbert & Sullivan buff and enjoy all types of musical theatre and opera. We both enjoy the theatre, cinema and going to concerts. My particular passions are gardening and cooking whilst Tom would be more interested in spirtuality and self development. We both enjoy travelling and have recently done two successful home exchanges to Amsterdam and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
